Control is like driving a car with your parent

You are in the driver's seat

You are already equipped with the knowledge and skills to operate the vehicle

You've already developed your own unique way of driving and operating the vehicle

The fear of bumping and colliding with other vehicles is already present because most drivers tend to be unpredictable on the road and the only way to make it through the drive is being calm with silent thoughts

However, the moment you hear your parent say "stop" or "slow down" before you can do anything or given the opportunity to react, that control is stolen from you

Control is like having an opinion

Everyone has an opinion and different perspectives on certain things

It is highly praised for a person to have a sense of individuality in order to form their own identity

However, when your opinion or perspective goes against what the majority thinks and believes, you'll end up being isolated and outcasted and you'll have no choice but to restrain your individual persona from the world out of fear of judgement and isolation

Control is like a fight between your desires and people's expectation

You have a desire or idea of what you want, be it your goals and aspirations

But then there's people's expectations where people already planned your life from start to finish from the day you were born

On one hand, you fell obligated to meet the expectations given to you because you owe it to these people for bringing you this far in you into your life and the sacrifices they made along the way

However, on the other, you don't want to feel trapped and caged.

You want to break out of this shell of expectations and chase after your desires and dreams and be true to who you are

But unfortunately, desires and expectation can no co-exist

You are forced to choose between the two

One is likely to mess up your future but make you happy while the other will guarantee your future at the expense of your happiness
