CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR !

CHARLIE QUICKLY WALKED OUT THE CLASSROOM, trailing behind the crowd of people. She didn't even know where Demetri had gone, she was too bothered with what Tory was going to do.

She gently made her way through the pile and now stood next to hawk, who had a smirk on his face.

"I saw what you did at the party," Tory nodded, causing Sam's face to drop. "You kissed Miguel."

Gasps and murmurs came from the everyone watching, while Charlie's gaze landed on Robby. She wanted to run over and hug him when she saw the look on his face.

"I-I-" Sam stammered, struggling to find the right words. But, Tory wasted no time and launched herself at Sam.

Charlie nervously fidgeted with her rings, remaining still. She wanted to stop it but didn't want to get herself into the fight.

Tory kicked Sam in the stomach making her fall back into Hawk and his friends. They all pushed her back into the fight, "get back in there."

Charlie hit his arm but continued to watch them, trying to pick the best moment to stop it. But every time she saw an opening, it closed.

Tory punched Sam multiple times in the ribs making her groan. Robby rush forward and pulled her away, pinning her against the lockers. He kicked anyone who tried to stop him before addressing her, "Settle down. I'm sure we can figure this-"

Before he could finish his sentence, Miguel appeared out of nowhere, and took him to the ground.

Miguel sent punches, while Charlie scanned the crowd to see if anyone would stop them. She went to walk over but everyone began fighting each other, "Oh, it's on!" Hawk yelled.

Charlie stood motionless, watching as Hawk singlehandedly fought off everyone that came at him.

Finally, she managed to get to Miguel and Hawk. She grabbed ahold of Robby's shoulder, but before she could do anything, someone yanked her hand away.

The boy towered over her, but Charlie refused to let it be a disadvantage to her. He threw a punch in her direction but she blocked it, crouched down and roundhouse kicked him.

Charlie watched Hawk fight off people, only making things worse, "Eli!"

He glanced at her but ended up getting punched in the face making her gasp. She kicked the boy in his side and he smirked as he finished the kid off.

Charlie defended herself against anyone who tried to fight her, until a scream caught her attention. She glanced over at Moon and quickly rushed over. She kicked away the boys fighting near her before turning to Moon, "Are you okay?"

Moon nodded, still recovering from the shock, before making her way to the group of people to stay out the way.

The fight began escalating into the hall, while Charlie attempted to stay in the corridor. However, a girl began throwing punches her way, making her lean back and follow after everyone.

She had to admit the girl was good, throwing punches at her face sure to leave a bruise. She sent one last one that made Charlie fall to the floor. However, she placed her leg out and swept the blonde off her feet.

Charlie rose up and placed a hand on her face where she could feel a bruise forming. She looked around, everyone was now either fighting, injured or hyping up the fights.

She looked around and saw Hawk chasing Demetri making her groan out as she followed after them.

It took her all of five seconds before losing them. She leaned against the wall, attempting to catch her breath but it was cut short when she saw a boy beginning to approach her.

She didn't want to fight anymore so began walking away however the boy grabbed one of her plaits and forcefully yanked her back.

A groan escaped her lips as she retaliated, elbowing him in the stomach and then the face, giving her an opportunity to escape. She could feel him following after her but she was too focused on finding the four who began the fight.

Charlie looked around and noticed they had all managed to get up the stairs. She made her way over and saw Doug struggling to get up from the floor, gasping for air, "You good?"

He nodded, still trying to catch his breath. As she pulled him to his feet, the familiar boy reappeared.

Without warning, he delivered a kick to her side, sending her tumbling into the railing for support. She took one glance at him, not being able to fathom why he had such a strong need to fight her, considering they had barely spoken before. They only shared a few classes together.

He sent punches her way, but Charlie managed to block them and even landed a hit on his face. She then sprinted up the stairs, but he seized her ankle, causing her to stumble and fall.

She crashed onto the steps, her head hitting hard, and she felt him dragging her downward. With her free leg, she kicked his arm off her and struck him again.

"What do you want?" Charlie yelled out of frustration, but he ignored her question and continued.

Charlie placed two hands on his head and brought it down onto her knee, making him groan. However, it didn't stop him completely.

Worry started to creep in as she noticed her energy starting to give out. She knew she couldn't keep up the fight for much longer.

She landed another blow, sending him to the floor. Convinced that she had finally finished him off, she turned her attention to Miguel and Robby, who were dangerously close to the railing.

"Stop!" she yelled at the top of her lungs, but her words went unheard.

Charlie made a run towards them, but the boy had reached his limit. He yanked her back once again, causing her to tumble over, and attempted to kick her leg. But he stumbled and accidentally stepped directly on her arm.

A sickening snap came from it, and she screamed in agony. His eyes widened, like he regretted it, but she paid no attention to him.

Charlie pushed her legs against the floor, desperate to distance herself from him, even if he showed no intention of attacking again.

Suddenly, Alyssa came from below the stairs and kicked him in his chest, taking him down. She relentlessly punched him until she was satisfied.

Charlie wanted to thank her, but every word came out as a choked sob. Alyssa approached her and crouched down, "shit."

She looked down at her arm that was now starting to swell. Charlie went to look but a yell caught her attention.

"Miguel!"

The entire hall fell into silence as everyone turned their heads toward the boy falling down from the railing. Charlie's eyes widened, and it felt like her heart was in her stomach when she watched his back collide with the bar.

The human heart beats between 60 and 100 times per minute - so why had hers felt as if it'd stopped in that moment?

"No!" She cried out. Adrenaline cursed through her and she used her remaining strength to walk down the steps, rushing to his stiff body.

"Robby, what did you do?" Sam exclaimed in shock, causing everyone to look at Robby. He glanced down at the boy he had just kicked off the railing, then his sister who crouched over him before fleeing.

"Miguel?" Charlie whimpered, cradling his head. "Miguel, please!"

"Clear the way! Clear the way!" the security guard commanded, but she resisted. She felt arms grabbing her and pulling her back, and she knew who it was. She wept into Hawk's chest, her arm throbbing, and the weight of Miguel's fall looming on her.

Hawk gently stroked her hair away from her face as everyone anxiously watched for any sign of life from Miguel.

Several ambulances arrived, taking the most injured students to the hospital while giving some aid to others on the spot.

Charlie rode in the ambulance with Miguel, refusing to leave his side. She cried the entire journey, tightly holding onto his hand, and waiting for him to wake up, but he didn't.

idk why I added the arm part, I just needed her to be in the hospital for the next chapter.

i feel like half of this sounded really repetitive so I might rewrite soon.
