❛ TRASHED DOJOS ❜
CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN !

CHARLIE SPENT THE FOLLOWING DAY AT MOON'S HOUSE, talking to her about the breakup. Moon shared her perspective, seemingly unfazed when Charlie confessed her feelings for him, as she'd always been aware of them.

Moon also mentioned that it wasn't just Hawk beating Demetri up that broke them up; she knew there was something between them, even before she got with him. She had caught Hawk stealing glances at Charlie on numerous occasions. Charlie apologized, but Moon brushed it off, genuinely happy for her.

Now, Charlie was in the dojo, watching Miguel and Hawk in a sparring session. Miguel sent a powerful punch to Hawk's stomach, making him groan. "Nice work, Diaz. Bow, go again."

Before they could start again, Daniel LaRusso stormed into the dojo, his face full of anger. Johnny stepped forward, "the hell do you think you're doing?"

Daniel chuckled sarcastically. "Like you don't know."

"Take your shoes off the mat, you're disrespecting my dojo," Johnny ordered, but Daniel ignored him.

Daniel raised an eyebrow and shook his head. "you're seriously gonna talk to me about disrespecting dojo's after what you just did to mine?"

"I don't know what the hell you're talking about," Johnny retorted. "I didn't do anything to your dojo."

Charlie furrowed her eyebrows, scanning the room for any signs of guilt, but everyone seemed equally confused.

"Just like you didn't slug one of my employees, huh?" Daniel scoffed. "you know, part of me actually felt bad for you at one point, but you make it so easy to remember who the bad guy is in all of this. You call yourself a sensei? You don't even know what a sensei is. A sensei mentors, a sensei elevates. He doesn't teach destruction and disrespect!"

Daniel took a step forward, but Johnny remained unintimidated. "I already said I don't know what you're talking about, LaRusso. And you don't know what you're talking about either."

"Yeah, well I know you don't. You don't earn the a medal of honour by stealing it." Daniel's voice broke, and Charlie restrained herself from walking over to offer him comfort.

"Let me tell you something about your sensei. He might teach you how to fight, but he doesn't know a thing about what it takes to truly win at life," Daniel addressed the room, his eyes on every student. "if you want to help yourselves before it's too late, the doors of Miyagi-do are wide open. That goes for you too Charlie, I'm already teaching one of his kids."

Charlie lowered her gaze, she hated being in the middle of an argument so tried her best to not keep the attention on her.

Johnny stepped forward, growing frustrated. "think you can come in here and poach my students? my daughter?"

"And what are you gonna do about it?" Daniel taunted, extending his hands, inviting Johnny's aggression. "You know I won't strike first."

Charlie glanced at Kreese, wondering if he would intervene when the argument turned physical. However, Johnny to stepped back. "I'm gonna be the bigger man."

"Yeah," Daniel smirked, "we'll see about that."

Daniel left the dojo, making some of the students start grabbing their belongings. "Where do you think you're going?"

"What the hell, Chris?" Mitch breathed out when he saw the boy beginning to leave.

Chris turned back, "I never liked it here."

"Bye, Chris," Charlie muttered as he passed her, offering a small wave in return.

"THIS COULD ALL BE OVER IN AN INSTANT. The decision's yours. Who trashed the Miyagi dojo?" Johnny yelled, his eyes on his students as they did bungee jumps.

"Y'all know I'm not fan of LaRusso's, but that sort of bullshit we don't teach in here. At least not anymore." Charlie noticed Johnny's gaze shift towards Kreese. "so I'm gonna ask you again. Who trashed the Miyagi-do?"

"It was not me sensei. I would never disrespect another man's dojo." Raymond gasped for breath, but Johnny cut him off.

"Shut your cake hole, chubs. I'm not looking for excuses, I'm looking for answers." Johnny shouted, but his students continued to struggle and groan.

Miguel paused his exercise to speak to Johnny, "sensei, we really don't know who did it."

"Somebody knows something. Question is, who's gonna break?" Kreese squinted at the students, and Charlie suspected he already knew the answer, though she couldn't figure out who.

Johnny's phone rang, making him to walk into his office. "Keep going. We can do this all day," he called out.

Charlie groaned, taking a moment to catch her breath. Johnny caught her through the office door and shot her a glare, getting her to continue.

"Sensei, we need a water break," Mitch requested, and the other students nodded in agreement.

Kreese looked at the students before finally giving in. "Two-minute break," he declared.

A collective sigh of relief escaped their lips, and Charlie ran for her water bottle. As she did, she noticed Hawk speaking with Kreese, though she couldn't hear what about.

Hawk then walked over to her, casually draping his arm around her shoulder and taking her bottle. He took a swig without bothering to wipe the lid; after all they were 'dating', they had to make it believable.

Miguel and Demetri were in on the secret, promising to keep it under wraps, but the other girls weren't, so their smirks were wide when they saw the two.

Charlie saw Johnny beginning to leave so she quickly slipped out from under Hawk's arm and approached him. "Where are you off to?"

"Remember my old friend Tommy?" Johnny asked, and after receiving a nod from Charlie, he continued, "Well, he's not doing too well. I need to go visit him."

Charlie glanced at Kreese, who seemed ready to make a move, and swiftly turned her attention back to her father. "When will you be back?"

"I won't be gone for long. Keep me updated on him, alright?" Johnny nodded towards Kreese.

The girl furrowed her eyebrows, "Don't you trust him?"

"It's not about trust. I just don't want things to spiral here," Johnny explained, and Charlie nodded. "Yeah, I'll message you."

"Thanks, and one more thing," Johnny turned back around, pointing at Hawk. "Don't let that little pigeon boy distract you, got it?"

Charlie's face immediately went read when she realized Johnny had seen Hawk's arm around her. She smacked her forehead in embarrassment, and Johnny left with a smile.

KREESE WALKED AROUND THE STUDENTS THAT WERE NOW IN THE BACK ROOM. Charlie pulled the battle ropes while Hawk was lifting weights. Her eyes trailed over his arms before she quickly turned her gaze when realising he had noticed.

"Keep going. I have all day." Kreese ordered, earning a collective groan from the some. They had been at it for hours.

"He's not gonna lighten up. We gotta figure out who did it." Miguel exhaled between rope throws.

Charlie glanced at Hawk and paused her exercise to speak to him, "Was it you?"

Before he could respond, Mitch squared up with Tory, who had accused him. Charlie, Miguel, and Hawk quickly intervened, pulling the two apart.

"Stop! Would you really like to know who did it?" Kreese asked with a smirk, pointing at the boy in front of him, "It was Hawk."

Charlie looked at him, her tongue pressing against the inside of her cheek as she scoffed.

"And it was Lawrence," Kreese then pointed at Charlie. She wasn't used to being referred to as Lawrence instead of Delaney, but Kreese was adamant on her being like his champion.

"Wait, what?" Charlie scrunched her face in confusion.

"And Diaz. And Robinson. And it was Nichols, Mabbs, Chubs, and Red," Kreese listed off random names, and Charlie finally understood his meaning.

"when one of you makes a move, you all make a move. You love and you die with the consequences and the spoils because you are all cobra Kai. Main dojo five minutes. You're about to begin your real training."

Kreese walked into the main room, while the students gathered with their friends.

"What do you think he's going to teach us?" Miguel asked, taking a sip of water.

Charlie was about to respond, but her words caught in her throat when she felt Hawk's arm around her shoulder again, along with a small kiss on the side of her head.

As everyone spoke, she leaned in and whispered, "Thought we agreed on no kissing."

"It wasn't your lips," Hawk whispered back, attempting to reason with her as she rolled her eyes.

"Just calm down, alright? My dad saw you earlier," she informed him, scanning the room to see if anyone was watching them.

Hawk smirked down at her. "Well, he's not here anymore."

"Our other sensei is, and he'll probably tell Johnny the second he gets back," Charlie shook her head, a slight smile on her face. "Apparently, you're distracting me."

"Oh, I'm that cool?" Charlie immediately regretted her choice of words when she saw his smirk widen.

She pushed his arm off her shoulder and walked away, stating, "You wish."
