❛ BREAKUP ❜
CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX !
"OH MY GOD, Yasmine has the same bikini as me," Moon exclaimed with a laugh as she glanced down at her phone.
Aisha rolled her eyes, "Tell her she can stay in France."
"I second that," Charlie chimed in, lifting her cup filled with apple juice in mock toast.
Charlie looked over at Tory's as she flung some ice at Miguel before seeing Hawk walking towards their table.
She slyly put her leg out, causing Hawk to stumble and nearly trip. He sent her a playful glare before joining Mitch and Chris at another table.
"Charlie, you did an amazing job with Hawk's hair," Moon complimented, as she glanced at her boyfriend. "I'll probably need you to do mine soon."
Charlie's turned around to look at him but he and the boys were leaving without explanation. She turned her attention back to Moon and mustered a smile. "Yes, of course. I'd love to do your hair."
"Hey, where's Hawk going?" Aisha asked, her brows furrowing when she saw him leave.
Charlie shrugged, her gaze shifting to Moon for an answer, "I'm not sure. He didn't mention anything about leaving to me. Maybe something came up," Moon said before speaking to Alyssa.
Charlie attempted to message Hawk to see where he was going, but his phone was turned off, the message not delivering.

CHARLIE STORMED TOWARDS HAWK'S HOUSE, her pedals spinning so fast she thought they might come off.
Once she got there she threw her bike at the ground, too frustrated to even park it. Robby had called her earlier, telling her about how her friend had tried beating up Demetri.
She already knew his parents were out, his mom had called her earlier to see if she wanted to keep Eli company while she was out. Charlie retrieved the key from beneath the doormat and unlocked the door.
She entered the house, seeing him seated on the sofa, clutching an ice pack against his eye. He heard the door shut and quickly looked up, "Charlie?"
"What the hell is wrong with you?" she snapped, stepping closer to confront him. Hawk rose from his seat, setting the ice pack aside, yet remained silent. "You beat him up over a yelp review?"
"He was coming at your dad! Our team! How are you okay with that?" Hawk retorted, his brows furrowed in frustration.
Charlie scoffed, "Are you kidding? He's our best friend! People are entitled to their opinions, Eli! You'd be surprised by how many people don't like Cobra Kai, or my dad but just because one person said something about it doesn't give you the right to attack them, especially if that person is your friend!"
Hawk sighed, sinking back onto the couch, but Charlie remained standing, awaiting his response. "What?"
Hawk let out a frustrated huff, readjusting the ice pack on his eye. "Moon broke up with me."
Charlie fell silent, she didn't know they'd already spoke. However, she didn't blame Moon for her decision; Charlie would have done the same. "I'm not surprised."
Hawk turned his head to face her as she finally took a seat. She gazed at the floor, shaking her head. "I knew this would happen. This whole 'Hawk' thing has changed you, Eli. You've gone from literally shadowing Demetri's every move to assaulting him."
He remained silent, fully aware that he deserved to hear this, he had brought it upon himself.
"Why? Why do you target Demetri and not me? You've known him just as long," Charlie questioned, but the boy continued to look away. "Can you at least look at me?"
Reluctantly, he turned towards her, his arm resting on the sofa to keep the ice pack on his cheek. "Demetri do that to you?"
"Your brother and LaRusso," he explained, placing the ice pack on the table and exhaling sharply.
"Well I'm not gonna say you didn't deserve it," Charlie told him, folding her legs onto the sofa and sitting cross-legged. "But you should keep the ice pack on."
He obliged, returning the ice pack to his cheek. The room fell silent until Charlie broke it. "So, what did Moon say?"
"She said she wouldn't date a bully. Should've thought that one through." He replied.
"Mmm," Charlie nodded in agreement before turning to him. "Are you going to apologize to him?"
"What?" Hawk exclaimed, his voice filled with surprise.
"What do you mean 'what'? You need apologize!" Charlie's voice rose slightly, and he pouted like a child, letting out a huff.
She grabbed his phone from the table and handed it to him. "Ideally, you should do it face-to-face, but I know you won't, so this will have to do."
He gave her a deadpan expression, but she stared at him, waiting for him to make the apology. He let out a groan and typed it out before showing her the phone as proof. Satisfied, she nodded approvingly.
"See? That wasn't so hard!" she chuckled as he turned off his phone.

CHARLIE AGREED TO STAY WITH HIM, on the contrary that he laid of Demetri.
They were sprawled on the couch, attempting to watch a movie, but Hawk was too busy wallowing in his breakup.
"Well, Moon had every right to do what she did," Charlie chuckled, refusing to tiptoe around him and validate his actions when they were clearly wrong.
"I know, but I need to find a way to win her back," Hawk groaned. "I don't necessarily want to date anyone else, but I need to make her jealous."
Charlie shook her head in disbelief. "So, you'd have to like fake-date someone or something."
She said it in a joking way, but Hawk sat up with hope in his eyes. Pointing his finger at her, he exclaimed, "That's not a bad idea!"
"What? No, Eli, I was just joking," Charlie protested, her eyes widening.
"No, wait. If she sees me with a new girlfriend, she'll regret breaking up with me. Sooner or later, she'll come around and want to be my girlfriend again," Hawk declared, a smirk appearing on his face as he looked directly at Charlie.
"No," Charlie immediately shut him down, "Absolutely not."
"Oh, come on," Hawk pleaded, edging closer to her, desperately trying to get Charlie's attention.
She hesitated for a moment. If she couldn't have Hawk for herself, maybe pretending to be his girlfriend wouldn't be so bad.
"Okay, but on one condition," Charlie finally gave in, and Hawk's face lit up. "You have to lay off Demetri."
"Deal," Hawk agreed eagerly.
"Alright, but if we're going to do this, I have some rules," Charlie said, turning to face Hawk directly. "You can't kiss me y-"
"Wait I can't kiss you?" Hawk's smiled faltered, "why can't I kiss you?"
She wanted to kiss him, badly, but she wanted it to be real. She didn't want him to kiss her just so it made his ex jealous.
"Uh, I hate PDA." She lied.
He squinted his eyes at her, "but PDA isn't just kissing."
"It doesn't matter," she quickly changed the subject, "you can hold my hand, I guess, and do whatever you used to do with Moon, but nothing more. Oh, and you can do that thing Lara-Jean asked Peter to do, you know, the little hand in the back pocket."
"Who's Lara-Jean?" Hawk asked, instantly regretting it when Charlie gasped dramatically. "You've never watched 'To All the Boys I've Loved Before'?"
He shook his head slowly, and Charlie immediately grabbed the remote. "Well, you're watching it now. I don't care."
They turned their attention back to the movie, both leaning against the back of the sofa. Hawk turned to face Charlie, studying her side-profile. "Thanks for doing this."
"Yeah, whatever," Charlie laughed, meeting his gaze. Their faces were dangerously close. "But I have to get permission from Moon first, even if it's just a fake relationship."
Hawk nodded, and they continued watching the movie in silence.
