❛ TO COBRA KAI ❜
CHAPTER TWELVE !
CHARLIE WANTED A PEACEFUL WALK TO THE DOJO, but of course she didn't get it.
The sound of grunting caused her to search around. Once she turned the corner, her eyes fell on a boy lying on the ground, clearly in pain; Robby.
The two other guys she recognised to be Trey and Cruz quickly exited the scene. "Robby? What the hell?"
Her voice startled the boy, who hadn't expected anyone to be around. But as he realized it wasn't one of the men he had to deal with before, he sighed in relief, "hey charls. It's nothing, I'm fine."
"You don't look it. What happened? I thought they were good to you." She asked, turning around to make sure they weren't coming back.
He wheezed before answering, "Just a small fight. They tried to get me to open the door so they could steal some stuff. I told them no, and they didn't like the answer."
She nodded before lowering her arm to help him up. He grabbed onto her before getting back on his feet, "Thanks," he muttered.
She stared him down, awaiting another explanation from him but only received a confused, "what?"
She scoffed, "aren't you gonna tell me where you learnt how to fight like that?"
Robby's face lit up with pride, "Daniel Larusso. He teaches me karate. He even gave me this job."
Charlie wasn't expecting that but she didn't get to say anything about it as her phone went off in her pocket. She pulled it out and saw Miguel's contact at the bottom of her screen.
Hey, me and Sensei are waiting at the dojo. Where are you???
"Look I've gotta go, just don't let dad find out what you're doing, Robby. Also, rinse your cuts with water and apply antiseptic, but be careful not to get it inside the cut. It also heals faster if you keep it warm." He stared at her confused for a second at where she knew all that from but gratefully smiled, "yeah okay, thanks."

CHARLIE PLACED HER BIKE ON THE RACK AND RAN HER HANDS THROUGH HER HAIR. She could hear cheering from inside and a hopeful grin formed on her face.
"I crushed the committee meeting!" Johnny proudly yelled when she entered the dojo.
"So Cobra Kai is in?"
"Hell yeah, Cobra Kai's back, baby!" He exclaimed, unable to contain his joy as he and Miguel hugged.
Charlie stared at them, hesitant to join but she did in the end. She felt Johnny's hand wrap around her back and she felt like she was young again; when Johnny actually cared for her properly.
"All right, I'm gonna grab sodas for me and Charlie. Do you want a banquet?" Miguel offered as he pulled away from the hug.
"No, no. This calls for a real toast." Johnny said before walking off to grab something.
Charlie leaned forward to try and see what he was bringing but quickly pulled back after almost tripping.
"The good stuff, for real men," he declared. Charlie cleared her throat, waiting for him to include her, "and women."
Johnny handed the two a cup each before pouring the liquid into the cups. Miguel caught a whiff of the strong scent and scrunched his face. "Drink it. It'll put hair on your balls. It's a good thing,"
"Ok. To Cobra Kai!"
"To never accepting defeat," Johnny added.
Charlie hesitated before giving in, one sip wouldn't do anything. The trio tilted their heads back, allowing the liquid to fall down their throats.
Charlie quickly turned around and spat the drink back in the cup, sticking her tongue out at the taste.

STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF A SCRAP YARD WITH A GROUP OF COBRA KAI STUDENTS AND HER DAD wasn't exactly how Charlie expected her Saturday morning to go.
"You've trained hard. You've gotten stronger, tougher, faster. You've done your best. You're ready for this tournament, am I right?" Johnny yelled from on top of the car.
"Yes, Sensei!"
"Wrong!" He shouted, his beer can slamming into the ground at their feet. Charlie huffed as the liquid splattered against her leg, scrunching her nose and glaring up at the man.
"Your best ain't shit! If you wanna win the All Valley under-18 Karate Tournament, you gotta give me better than your best. Which is why for now on, you're gonna get my worst. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Sensei!" Everyone replied in unison.
"Are you losers?"
"No, Sensei!"
"Are you nerds?"
"No, Sensei!"
"Are you sure?"
"No, Sensei!"
Johnny slapped his face with a sigh. "Sensei Lawrence?" Aisha called, "What are we doing here?"
He grinned, "Glad you asked." He went on to yell at the group about how they would be going through a bunch of challenges of running through tires, letting out their anger, and learning to balance themselves to better their karate skills.
"Move those feet! Go!" Johnny encouraged. "Let's go, squirt. Good job, buddy."
Aisha's leg tripped on one of the tires sending her forward along with Miguel, Charlie and Hawk. After Charlie lifted herself, she tilted her hand and gestured for Hawk to grab it before pulling him up and back onto his feet.
Charlie was now smashing car windows with a sledgehammer, letting out any anger she had inside her. She raised the hammer up and shot it down on the window, causing glass to shatter everywhere. It was definitely a different and odd way of training, but she was having fun so she didn't complain.
She was now under a shelter, trying to get through the car but it just wasn't working. She'd hit it about 10 times already yet it still stayed the same.
"Need some help, Princess?" Charlie scowled at the unfamiliar nickname, turning on her heels to eye the boy in front of her. Her eyes scanned him, from the top of his mohawk, to the sneakers he'd been wearing for an awfully long time, "no, I'm good. And what's with the nickname?"
"Oh," Hawk takes a few steps forward, "Come on, Charls. You can't deny that the whole Hawk-thing has an effect on you."
Her lips part, staring at him with a scrunched face, "You did not just-, seriously-" he chuckled at her struggle for words which only angered the girl further, "I actually hate you right now."
"You could never hate me, princess." Hawk's lips curved into a smile.
"never call me that again or I'll-"
Charlie was interrupted by the sound of barking which caused her to jolt back slightly. She looked over and saw wild dogs racing in their direction.
She let out a yelp as one barked at her and she climbed onto a beaten down van beside her. She scurried over to the opposite side and leaned over to see Hawk trying to climb onto the one beside her.
"you need help, princess?" She mocked.
Hawk frustratedly groaned but ignored her, still trying to get on top of the vehicle. He was too slow and now the dog had ran over and bit his leg, making him yell. Charlie gritted her teeth at the sight.
