"Isabelle, the place is so beautiful. I haven't seen a greenhouse this beautiful ever" I said

"This is one of my favorite places in the building."

"Well, it won't remain yours for long," I said and nudged her arm as we grinned

"No worries, you guys are welcomed here at any time during the day" She exclaimed

"I guess if a place like this exists then I would love to visit it more," Clary remarked as we gave each other a high-five grinning from ear to ear

The greenhouse was filled with beautiful plants enhancing its beauty as a whole. But what made it more majestic was its glass windows and the roof

"This is the place from where our medicines come too. The first aid kid that we prepare here comes from this greenhouse."  Isabelle explained to us

While we were exploring few birds came and started chirping while some came and sat on us including butterflies. And then I saw Alec coming into the greenhouse I glanced at him and turned my attention back to everyone.

A bird came forward and I looked at that cute little creature as it slowly came forward and sat on my palm as Isabelle gave Clary, Jace, and Alec some grains to feed the birds

It settled on my palm as I stroked it and she/he chirped as I smiled admiring it and noticed Alec looking over at me

"Something's bothering you?" I looked back at him not moving much as the bird would fly away

"Yes, you," he said with a straight face

"What? Since when am I bothering you" I started

"That," he said as I scoffed and moved to face the bird which was just sitting on my palm

"This bird was born here just a few weeks ago and since then Alec has been trying to befriend it but it didn't come forward. And with you, it didn't take much effort as it choose you. That's why it bothers him" she explained stroking that cute little bird as it turned to Isabelle

"Hmm, Well you can't blame this little bird for it can you? I mean look at him he's so small and if someone as gigantic and tall as Alec suddenly comes in front of him. Why wouldn't this little one be scared." I said as Isabelle and everyone else just smiled

"I don't say it out loud but I would agree with you,"  Clary said as we both smiled and I looked over at Alec

"Considering how he is, it's hard for me to believe he likes someone or has feelings" I shrugged, and before I could continue. He cut me off mid-sentence

"I'm human too you know, I also have feelings and can like something or dislike something," he said

"Oh yeah, sorry I forgot I thought you were a robot. Who's disliking side is much stronger than the liking one." Looking at him I commented

"Really? A robot? I'm the one who saved your life. So, I'm a robot now."

"Well yeah after he put it in danger don't you think? So it was something you had to do after all" I raised my eyebrows at him

"Well,  I guess I should name him. What do you think Izzy?" I looked up and asked Izzy

"That's a good idea. This way we'll have them as pets." Clary responded smiling with excitement

"I think it's a good idea, besides we haven't named him since his birth. So go ahead he seems to like you too." Isabelle chimed in

"How's Snowflake?" I ask after thinking for a moment

"I like it. It's cute" Clary said

"Yeah, but isn't it a bit longer? you can give this name to your bird." I said and Clary named her's Snowflake

"RUBY"  Alec and I both said the name out loud at the same time we glanced at each other

The bird started to move around chirping after listening to the name as if she likes it

"Looks it like the name of your choice guys," Jace said cutting the silence between me and Alec as I looked back at the bird

"So from now on I'm going to call you Ruby." Smiling I stroked it as it chirped with happiness at me

"Well I guess giving her a name resolved your conflict, and even she approves the name even if Alec said it," Isabelle said

"Hmm, looks like she likes it" looking at her he says as a small smile appeared on his face

"Don't you speak too much btw?" he said playing with his bird

"Sorry if my words hurt you but you did put my life in danger and I was just saying what felt right. And if expressing one's feelings is something you don't like. Then fine." Looking over Ruby I responded

Before he could respond to this sudden confession someone knocked on the door

"There's someone to see you all. A down-worlder." We all turned around

"We'll be there," Isabelle said

"Might be Simon" Clary said

"Who's Simon?" I asked her

"Oh, he's my best friend. I'll introduce you guys" She mentioned as she let go of her bird

And I also flew away Ruby "See you next time Ruby" She flew away as we all walked out of the greenhouse. And went down the stairs.

"Btw what's a down-worlder? It's the first time I have heard this name for a person. Weird!!" I pipped in

"These are people who are Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, or Warlocks," Isabelle explained

"Oh so that is the way how you call these guys" I nodded as we came down I saw people starring at me as everyone by now in the institute would have got to know about my identity they stared at me as I walked past them and in an accident I collided with Isabelle

"Oh sorry Izzy I didn't mean to hurt you," I said looking at the people

"It's okay it happens," She said as I nodded

"Don't bother, they don't deserve your attention" I hear Alec whisper to me as I look up

"How do you know?"

"I saw you getting uncomfortable, don't worry I'm here to help, just ignore them. Don't look down on yourself, you're great as you are" he said as I kept listening to him praise me it felt so peaceful and light

"Thank you, Alec," I said as I held his hand for a moment we held our gazes for a moment and then walked away

Reaching the lobby we saw a man coming over to us

The way he was walking gave me creeps, this guy's aura was different nothing I have felt from anyone before. It felt as if I knew him before. But couldn't exactly remember how

"What brought you here Magnus?" Jace asked

"Business my dear" he responded

"I have found a way to bring back Clary's memories and also Dot," he said

Clary stood there shocked  "You can bring back Dot and my memories?" She asked

"Of course, I can I was the one who took them away on your mother's order," he said

"If you need my help in any way I'll do it. to bring Dot back," she said hurrying

"Okay then, well now onto the other business that I came here for" he was cut mid-sentence by the Lightwoods

"Is there any specific reason that a warlock is here?" Maryse Lightwood came to us

"Ah Maryse, welcome. I was thinking why you guys hadn't shown up till now" he joked around playfully

"What's the reason for your visit Magnus, that too before time?" Robert asked

"At least someone knows how to talk." He concluded

"Well, I was just about to tell them. The main reason is ...." the guy suddenly started walking in my direction as I moved back a little in hesitation.

"I don't think we've been formally introduced. I'm Magnus Bane. A warlock" he extended his toward me

"Veronica Danvers" I took his hand in mine and shook it

"Pleased to meet you, Veronica," he said bringing my hand to his lips as he placed a kiss on the knuckle and let go of my hand I covered it eyeing him suspiciously

"Uh Nice to meet you too Magnus," I said hesitantly

"You know me?"

"Oh, yes darling. Just wanted to introduce myself to you." He said

("Of course, I know you my pumpkin. I have to keep up this act till you regain your memory. I'll be happy to have you back as we were before.").

"I got the news that you guys had a person brought here who was a half-witch. So I wanted to check on my own. But they didn't tell me it's you." He moved a little back maintaining his distance 

"You've grown up to look just like Kara, Darling," Magnus said

"Your friend here gave out the intel to her parents about what she saw today in you, which came to me later on. And here I am to help you understand and gain control of that side of yours," he said

"And why do you wanna help me? What's your benefit in it?"

He looked over "To fulfill the promise I made to Kara, of helping you fit in and protect you," he said

"How do you know my mom? I never heard anything about you from her." I asked him as I was amazed that he said he knew mom

"She liked to keep a low profile so she never mentioned me in front of you guys. But I know you and your mom she's a dear friend of mine." I listened to him speak as he moved to Clary

"I need Clary for finding Dot and I would also like you to come along with her in the morning I'll send someone who'll pick you, guys up," he said

"Don't worry I won't cause any harm, you'll be like a friend to me." Smiling Magnus said

"I know you'll come looking for answers sooner or later. And I could help you out with them. After all, you'll need to activate your witch side after some time" he winked at me, there was something different about this guy.

As our conversation ended Clary and Jace went to a room that had a glass entrance door and stayed there for a while as Magnus talked with Robert and Maryse

"You sure you can help her? I don't want to cause any trouble for her she's just like Isabelle to me. And Kara had always been our close friend." Robert said

"Even though I don't like you mingling in the work of the Institute but I also care about our reputation. She needs to understand her family and go there." Maryse looked over to Veronica as she was talking to Isabelle

"Don't worry, she's in good hands. She's an amazing and strong witch whom Valentine won't be able to handle. She just needs to remember everything, we're also having our old member back in our family too. So don't worry." Magnus said looking over to Veronica and her Robert and Maryse

"But if she needs anything you know what to do," Robert asked him

"I know, now if you'll excuse me I need to talk to Clary and Jace about the preparations." He said and walked away from them

"Veronica" Robert said and I looked his way

"Good Evening Sir" I greeted him

"No need for these pleasantries dear, I wanted to ask you did you experience a change in yourself in the fight you had today, anything unusual." He asked

"Well, there was this weird feeling that I felt in my body for once in a while during my fight today. I can't say I know what it was but it felt a little different." I said as they nodded and looked at Isabelle

I went back to my room and after a few minutes, ordered dinner from the kitchen. As I thought of how I met these guys, then I got to know I'm half shadow-hunter and half witch, and today I got into a fight with Oliver and his friends in between which maybe that witch side of mine might've been activated or something. And now a warlock has invited me to help me train and discover my powers and this world to get the answers I'm looking for, and who also knows my mom.

I woke by the touch of someone's hands as they grabbed my arm. And I suddenly jerked up with fear opening my eyes to find Alec in front of me.

"What... what're you doing here? At this time of the night? in my room?" I looked at him as he was close to me I could see his brown eyes and they seemed different to me

"Sorry, I didn't want to scare you but, Izzy said that you needed to have the IV back on before you sleep. She's busy so she sent me. I saw you sleeping so I thought of putting it. But it woke you up." He said looking straight into my eyes and it felt as if he was staring right into my soul

"I-I, see," I said as I shifted a little to the other side to create a little distance between us as I heard him whisper

"Shh, don't move around much " he held my hand stopping me from moving, and pulled me close. It felt different with him this time, his whisper made me shiver internally

Before I could reply I noticed he was injecting the needle into my arm and I quietly stayed still till then. As he injected the needle I grabbed him by his shoulder and also his t-shirt as he just injected the needle he lost his grip because of my sudden yelp, he got shocked and stumbled upon me.

We both were staring at each other. Shocked at what happened and just looking at each other. He had a warmth in his eyes maybe because he saw me yelp in pain. We both stayed like that for a moment staring at each other and I realized what I had done and released him as he got back up fixing his t-shirt.

I looked away in embarrassment at what I had just done. I made him fall because of my scream and that too on me and we were so close.

"I'm sorry." We both said at the same time as we glanced at each other for a second and diverted our gaze

"I'm sorry. I should've been careful of my actions" I explained looking at my arm.

"No, it's okay. I might've applied a little pressure to it. Sorry for the trouble" he said fixing his t-shirt and looked away and said "I'll be going Good night"

"Good night!" We said to each other as he walked out of the and I released a breath not knowing I had kept it till now and put a hand on my chest thinking about what had just happened.

After this, I just waited actively for sleep to come and forget what has happened and slept after some time again. As tomorrow I'm going to be needed somewhere.
