As we started walking ahead I could see my house in the view, we were in front of it and I stopped for a moment

"Is this your house Veronica?" Clary asked

"Yeah, this is my house"

"You've got a great house, I must say. It's got a great style" Isabelle said

"Thanks, Izzy, I got it designed when I was in high school" I replied
And we guys started moving again and then Jace said: "well you know what I would love to have a tour of it." He said as I smiled "One day sure Jace" we continued the walk and reached the end of the block and took a turn to the main road.

The walk wasn't long but as we reached the turn We caught up with one of my neighbourhood's boys' groups they started calling my name the moment they saw me and laughing

"Do you know them, Veronica?" Isabelle asked

"Yeah I do, but it's better to not pay attention to them" I looked to my side at Izzy and she nodded

"Good idea" she replied

"Hey, hey look who's back... the lost and scared Veronica..." one of the boys exaggerated and I just walked past them ignoring them as they all came closer to us

"Hey, you must be worried, and alone now, you lost your mom and sister. We can give you company." The other guy with a black beanie said

"Don't worry, you can give me a chance I won't disappoint you. You know Veronica. Come on let me help you out." Oliver the main guy of the group who lives in my neighbourhood said. I had been avoiding these boys since middle school as they started troubling the neighbourhood's people. So that I don't create a scene.

"I'm not interested Oliver. Sorry" I signalled to him with my hand and walked past him but then I heard Jimmy say something

"Oh come on just because someone left you doesn't mean we will. Come on now. And after all, you're hot, and your friend here too. What's her name Beautiful"  This made me angry I turned around and moved Clary back as Jace came forward shielding her.

"Watch your hands. If you wanna stay alive" Jace glared at him

"Whoa easy buddy, you jealous we might steal the girl," they said as they laughed

"Don't worry besides we're interested in Veronica, what says? " Jimmy said and he slowly started to walk up to me with Jace standing in front of us.

"Jace" I placed a hand on his shoulder as he looked back at me " let me," I said

"But Veronica, how will you?" He had a sense of worry in his eyes
"they need to be taught a lesson by someone they know. It will be better. Trust Me." She demanded as she came from behind and stood in front of him as he nodded
"okay, but be careful"

"Yeah" Veronica responded

"Oh come on your mom won't come back. But you can come to us" Oliver said as he reached for my arm I was angry at their rubbish as it is, and the moment he was about to grab my hand I turned and punched him. as the bleeding started from his lips.

All of them looked at me in awe and shock as I looked back even Jace was shocked as well as the boys with him. 

"You don't have any right to speak about my mom like that, or my friends for instance. Keep it in mind" I said staring at him

"How dare you!!" He came towards me pissed and as touched my shoulder I grabbed his hand and twisted it in the opposite direction behind his back. As his back was facing me his arm was in my hands.

"Who gave you the right to speak ill about someone else? Don't forget your place, Oliver. I thought you guys might chance, but there's nothing that can change about guys like you."  I finished my sentence and pushed him to the ground.

"You think you can just come here and hit us"  Oliver growled while clutching his wrists trying to get back on his feet. In the meantime, I saw Jimmy running at me with a knife in his hand.
"Veronica look out!!" Izzy shouted and I leaped back while he tried his best to stab me with it but failed.

With my body being in a good shape I diverted my direction every time he came forward for a hit, making him miss his chance. Moving forward I grabbed his hand as we wrestled for a second for the knife and I twisted his wrist because of which the knife fell to the ground.

I kicked his stomach as he fell behind by the strong push. I heard the footsteps of another guy coming at me from behind and as he got close, I sidestepped his body, ducked under his arm, bounced up again, and spun around. He stopped short on stiff legs and whipped back toward me.

As he came to me again I ducked under his arm and then pushed my elbow with full force and hit him in his chest making him on his knees coughing.

While I was about to make another move on him I got grabbed by someone from behind by my neck while trying to get out of his grip I saw Jace and Alec coming forward but I stopped them mid-way by letting them know to stay put with my hand. As one of the guys came running to me and I knew exactly how to escape his hold.

He reached near me and I made a jump towards that guy with one leg on his stomach; the other on his chest; and then slowly put pressure on my feet and went above his shoulder making him stumble backwards as I did a flip, making the guy lose his grip and landed behind him and kicked his thigh making him fall. Twisting his leg with which he was just about to attack me.

"Wow, that was good" I heard Jace as I smirked looking at him and then back at the guys as they started creating a circle around me with me in the centre. And I got into my combat position with my fists up.

"You guys wanna fight me, then fine,"  I demanded as one of the guys came forward from behind and I kicked him as hard as I could focusing my strength on that kick as he fell backwards.

The other one came at me but his fist missed my gut by a quarter-inch and its wild momentum pulled him past me and down a little which put the side of his head right in line for a left hook. I saw the chance and let it go with everything I had in me from my toes on up. My leg crashed into his ear as I went for a high jump kick and he staggered back a little almost about to fall I followed up with a strong and heavy punch to his jaw making him fall backwards on the ground. Then I danced back and took a breath and tried to see what damage I'd done.

Both his ear and his jaw were bleeding. Then I turned around and, Got balanced on both my feet and hunched my shoulders down low and held my hands out in front of them like claws.

As I was going to go for the other one I suddenly fell under a blow by one of the guys who had put his legs out in a circling motion which at that moment I couldn't recognize which took me a second to realize.

As he moved forward in his pursuit to kick me as I lay down near the tree leaves he came forward "Watch out Veronica!!!" Jace shouted

And I rolled over twice, pushed with my hands, and levered myself upright. Jumped back and then moved sideways by just a second and dodged a straight drive that would have hurt me badly but thanks to my quick reflexes I was able to defend myself from that move.

Knowing guys like these usually just go for a straight ruthless punch and then go ahead with anything they can get their hands on.

But that's not the case for someone like me I have been trained a little in Marshall Arts throughout my whole high school. Making me a good fighter. I use my whole body strength to fight, which is actually how it should be done. Head, hands, legs, feet everything needs to be in sync and prepared for when you need to go for a fight.

Otherwise, you're just a lousy fighter that could easily get knocked out in the field by your opponent. Something that I learned during my training time.

Oliver and his guys are guys who go after their emotions and those lousy moves which can be predicted if you're trained in any physical combat training for once in your life.

He hurled his punch forward which eventually got crashed into the trunk of the tree, making it bleed. Seeing the opportunity I quickly grabbed the back of his head in speed and slammed it against the tree making Oliver fall as his head was bleeding and started groaning in pain.

"Damn you a bit-... I won't forgive you for this" He said holding his head

"I hope you don't forget the beating you got today. Might be good for you to take rest in a hospital for a week at least" Crouching down to his level holding his collar and bringing him up a little and I spoke to him, then let him go.

As I got up after letting him go I looked back at those guys in and seeing the scene in front of them a few of the guys ran away in fear.

"Veronica your eyes!!!" Isabelle called out to me but as I was focused on the other guys I didn't notice what had happened.

My eyes had glowed at that moment and after a while it went back to normal as I saw everyone left except for Jimmy and another of his friends didn't leave he came forward with the knife that was fallen. and launched at me. I quickly tackled him but it wasn't easy enough as he strikes again by luck I missed his hit by a great time. then I diverted his hand in the opposite direction and hit him with the knife instead on his thigh as he fell on his legs screaming in pain.

"you'll pay for this Veronica" he grunted 

"I'm not scared of you guys. this state of yours is done by none other than me and that too alone. hope you don't forget it." bending down I pulled his collar and said after that.

The moment I got up my body gave it all back to me as I forgot that I was pushed and hurt too and the wound and the poison started causing trouble for me to lose my balance a little as the guy who was left threw a metal rod at me. I didn't get the chance to defend myself as I turned around I had my eyes a little heavy and saw Jace standing in front of me. holding the rod as he threw it away I saw to the side that Alec had held that guy by his neck up in the air as he was struggling to breathe.

"Are you okay?" Jace came to me worried and touched my arm making sure I didn't get hurt

"I am okay Jace, It didn't hurt me. thanks to you for being there" I nodded and said

"Alec please let go of him, he'll die" I protested going near him

"put him down. he's had enough"

"The guys who trouble women like these aren't allowed to live" I looked at Alec as he said that he was quite serious about it. His face was stern and a little angry.

"he has got his lesson, leave him, Alec. let him go" he looked at me and then slowly released the guy as he ran away

My head was now getting heavy and my eyes blurry and I wasn't able to maintain my balance. I soon lost my balance and saw Alec turn and look wide-eyed at me as held me.

"Hey, you okay?" he patted my face then removed my jacket from the left side and was horrified as he saw the wound bleeding and the poison again forming a mark

"Izzy!!!" he called out to her as she rushed by my side and saw me

"oh no the fall must have hurt her. We need to return to the Institute fast. She needs to be treated" she demanded as Alec picked me up and I was getting unconscious "don't sleep on my watch okay? I'm not interested in taking the blame again understood" he said while running as I just responded with a "hmm".

"don't fall asleep, we're almost there. stay with me. Are you listening. Stay awake, you dare pass out!!" he increased his voice as my eyes opened again with the jerk of his loud voice.

"good, now keep them open," he said as we took the lift and then everything went black and the last I remember was Alec, Clary and Jace trying to keep me awake, and I became unconscious.
