After discussing a few things with Magnus he got up "it's time to see if you can generate your magic or not. though it might not be easy but you'll at least get an idea from the first tries," he said as I followed him and went to the same room we were in before.

"you want to train me this immediately, I don't even know much," I said entering the room

"I know but activating your powers is a must. There's no need to worry, slowly you'll understand and get to know more. But first, we need you to be able to access your power. there's very little time left." he said as I moved to the centre of the room

"Now as much as I could get, was that your magic started flowing out because of the anger that you built up. So for now, we'll go with that first."

"Close your eyes and tell me what it was that made you that angry. See at first or in the initial stages our magic is attached to our emotions, the stronger the emotions are the more quickly your magic will flow. After the initial stage, it just flows and you don't need your emotions anymore to control it." he explained holding me by my shoulders

"They were speaking ill about my family and my sister," I said as I took a breath

"I see then," he started walking a few steps back from me and started speaking "now just focus on what I'm saying no matter how angry or whatever emotion you feel don't open your eyes and just focus on my eyes and find your power," he explained

"Okay."

"Your mom Veronica, you love her don't you? Why? did you ever ask yourself that, knowing that her daughter is 21 now? isn't it bad that she still didn't tell you anything about your true identity? She always hid such a big truth about your life how can you still trust her? How can you say you love her when she betrayed you." he kept on saying things about my mother to get me agitated

"This is enough," I said

"Don't lose your focus, just focus on your emotions and sense your power and tell me what you see" he indicated as he started speaking again I kept my eyes closed imagined and I could see a flame burning in my mind as my eye lids stopped moving, he noticed that and came close

"I wish you could remember everything Peaches so that you don't have to go through this process all over again. And how much powerful you are. But it's a part of the process too. I wish you soon come to me, regarding your forgotten memories. So that you can see how great friends we were in life" He thought to me himself as he asked me

"Do you see it? Tell me what you see?" The magic inside of you, that's been hidden for so long" he asked

"Yes I can see it, It's, It's a flame, something like a fire" I say focusing a little more on the flame that I see inside of me

"Good, now slowly feel it growing as a part of your own, keeping that feeling in mind"

He instructed and as I kept my focus on the flame and slowly felt it growing inside me. It felt quite warm as I felt like the flame was growing it gave warmth to me on the inside and patience too.

"Now I'm going to repeat the exercise, but with a difficulty, I know it will be a little challenging, but just focus on that flame no matter what comes at you. Okay?" he asked as I nodded "okay"

As I embraced myself and focused on that flame I heard a noise as a cold wind passed by me, making me shiver but I kept focusing on the flame burning inside of me as it helped me keep warm despite the strong cold wind being directed at me.

Then Magnus started speaking again and started talking about my family, with a shift in nature I could feel that I was being lifted my feet weren't touching the floor anymore. it was getting a little tough for me to focus still struggling I tried my best and kept focusing on the flame. As every one of his tricks stopped working he came close to me and I shivered a little.

As women even if you know the person in front of you, when you have your eyes closed there's this feeling of uneasiness around you about what might the person do or won't do. I'm sure all the ladies understand this feeling very well.

We have this feeling cause we aren't able to see what's happening in front of our eyes. he came close and said "Open your eyes, Veronica and don't forget to keep that picture in mind"

I slowly opened my eyes and he smiled "Good luck, you've passed the first level with ease now." he signalled me to come forward

"come, see your eyes in the mirror. you have transformed now." he addressed me as I walked up to the mirror and was shocked to see how my eyes had changed colour I touched the area near my eyes too see that they have turned into amber and I also had some freckles of the same colour on my nose and under eyes

I touched the portion and it felt as if it isn't something real. I'm imagining this, "Are these my eyes!!!?" looking in the mirror while admiring my eyes.

I looked at him, and he smiled " Yeah, these are your eyes Veronica. It's your powers " and I smiled

" I didn't know, that I would like this feeling and this side of mine. It's so calm and warm "

"When you focused on your power you saw this flame, which means your main power is fire. the rest will come with time slowly," he said

"How many powers, does a witch or warlock can have according to them."

"Well, it depends, there are no limits to the powers one can possess" he said

" No limit? Wouldn't it be difficult to maintain all those powers" I asked

"well at first sure, but once you've gained full control of your powers then the rest are easy" he explained

"Congrats, on awakening your powers btw" he congratulated me

"Thank you, Magnus," I said looking back at the mirror at seeing my reflection in the mirror and thinking

"If I was destined to have these powers then, why couldn't I save Emily? The person whom she looks up to the most, that person only couldn't save her. What kind of a sister am I then."

"what're you thinking?" he asked as I broke out of my thoughts and looked back at him

"how do you know?"

"Just experience, what is it pumpkin"

"Nothing much, I've just got to find my sister"

"Your sister? You have a sister?"

"Yes, I do. I lost her a few days ago" I explained the whole situation of how I got caught up in this mess and how I'm here right now with my normal life turned upside down because of all this as tears started flowing down

"If she hadn't gotten lost that day then, we both would've been living a normal life now," I said as a few tears dropped and he got up and came back with a glass of water.

"Here, have this. I'm so sorry you had to go through so much," he said comforting me

"I never wanted to be a part of something like this. I just wanted to complete my college. Get into my job, help mom with everything and maybe see her getting married again and having a happy family like before. Far away from all this supernatural world" I said after drinking the water and keeping it on the table.

"Veronica, It's not that we don't have a life out of this world. We also do"

"Really? Even if you guys have what about those shadow hunters or vampires or werewolves, as their lives have changed they haven't been able to live like a human again? How do you guys manage on hiding your powers from the real world?" I looked at him giving a strong speech to which he was silent for some time.

"Well, you're not wrong about whatever you said, we can't go back to being humans and enjoying our lives in a normal way where we go to a job, get married, have kids and then die at a certain age as in our world death is something that isn't what goes with time. But still, after all this, we live our lives with enjoyment and about the powers well just don't show them in front of you humans. But there are a lot of witches/warlocks and werewolves in the human world whom you don't know about because we're good at blending in with the crowd."

"I suppose I never knew people like you all existed in our society until I get thrown into your world itself" I said understanding the things

"You know what we like the most about our world?" He asked as I looked at him

"What?"

"To be born in this world and save humans like you from the darkness so that you can live your life with happiness and peace. Yoou and your parents were able to enjoy so many years of their life living as humans because till now, everything was going by order."

After listening to him I felt as if I was just some person whining about their life's problem, it made me feel kind of pathetic for saying all that but it was the truth from my side. A person who wanted a normal life.

"Thank you, hearing you say this, made me understand the same reason I was carrying out my job in the secret services. Even if it was risky there was something that kept me going and it was to help the people around me and keep them safe. And I'm sorry for suddenly lashing out. I don't know but it felt like maybe you'll understand me more" that's all that I could say after listening to him.

"You don't need to, you had your problems as a human that were bigger for you. We had ours. I know you work under those secret agencies, Kara once told me but no need to feel bad for expressing your fears. Veronica " placing his hand on mine he said and we both looked at each other in silence for a minute or two.

"I-I need to go, Magnus," I got up and said looking away as I realized the actual reason I came out of the Institute

"What happened? did I do something wrong?" he got worried

"uh no, it's not you it's me. I realized the reason I came out of the Institute. I need to find my sister as soon as possible. She's just 7 years old. I don't know where she is or in what condition or situation she might be? It's already been 3 days now. I can't sit back because of my injury." I said as I started walking ahead

"I understand, but where are you going to go? as you told me. you won't be able to find her at the parking building," he said coming forward

"I know, I'm going to my house, right now. I have wasted a lot of my time waiting for other people to do something, I need to go out myself and look for her, she's my sister it's my responsibility" I said clenching my fist and looking at her bracelet.

"I understand, but wait a minute," he said stopping me as he went back somewhere

"have this, if you need any help, contact me instantly. and I'll be there," he said handing me a locket I looked at it as it glowed, and smiled as I looked back at him

"thank you, Magnus, I'll call if I need you," I said as he prepared a portal

"think about the place your house is in. Focus on it and step in. It will take you there" I nodded and thought of the street and stepped into the portal.
