I kept tossing around getting a vision of Me, Mom, and Magnus fighting some people to save each other as one of the guys pushed me and Magnus away with his magic.

I rushed to his side to help him up but instead, I got tackled by one, blasted him with my magic, and stood back up.

The guy then directed his magic to the floor as all of us fell and I kept shouting out for Mom and Magnus as the guy grabbed me and tried taking me with them.

I woke up gasping for air and huffing clutching my chest for some air as I looked around me and saw everyone peacefully asleep.

As I got up and I saw Alec sleeping on the couch and watched him for a few minutes then went up to the terrace for some fresh air to clear my mind. I was leaning on the railing while looking over the city lights glowing in the night. No matter how much I try to hate it, this place gives me a beautiful view.

"What are you doing up at 4 in the morning, don't even think of jumping from there" I heard a voice as I smiled to myself and turned around

"I could ask you the same but it doesn't matter, and do I look like it to pull such a stupid stunt like that one" I stated crossing my arms around my chest

Alec laughed and came and stood next to me "You won't, but I had to make sure who knows you actually might do it in your emotions. I got up and saw you gone from the room. What happened" he said in a calming voice

"Just some nightmares, nothing serious besides looking at YOU. I fear that you might slip off from here. So I suppose you should back off" I laughed and pushed him to step back as he laughed and sat down on the nearby stairs on the terrace.

"Well I'm here if you wanna talk or don't want to" He shrugged as I looked at him and smiled

"You know it's hard when taking care of everyone in the family becomes your responsibility and you forget with the time that you also belong to this family. For whom you're giving your sweat and blood away, you have to grow up quickly to look after those who are younger than you" I sighed crossing my arms on my lap

"I can understand your situation, it's okay to feel low and let loose once in a while. I've been in your position too I know it's not easy but that's what we need to do or else the family might break apart." He nodded holding my hand in his as I watched him as his gaze went from normal to calming and comforting

"Thanks, I appreciate your opinion. Guess I just needed someone to give me a pep talk" I kept my hand on his and chuckled as he nodded

"Well you should head back it's getting late, and you're sleepy," I said as I turned and found Alec dozing off I hid my laugh

"You need sleep, come on," I said motioning him to get up as he nodded

He got up and saw me sitting there and demanded "You too. Come on" he grabbed me as I protested against his tight grip on my wrist we reached the door and he pulled me around

I had my back on the door while I faced him as his tall figure leaning over me "What, you want to spend the whole night here at the terrace. Sorry but I can't let that happen not on my watch Danver" he demanded

"Alec, I'll go and sleep I just want to stay here for a moment" I nodded holding his hand as I freed my hand

He stood there looking at me and then nodded "Fine, but don't make me come back to get you" he said as he let go of my hand and walked down and I suddenly got pulled into this vision from my past.

Flashback

"So how do you like the place?" the guy with blonde hair asked me

"It's cool, I mean I haven't seen an institute this cool!!" the 17-year-old Veronica says happily examining the institute she was standing in

"Let me introduce you to others," They walk ahead and he starts introducing the young girl to other Shadowhunters

"That's mine, give it back Izzy" I hear a boy shouting as he came running in my direction and a young girl with long black hair hide behind me smiling

"I want to experiment with it," The girl says smiling as she uses me as a shield to save herself from the boy. She runs away as the boy rushes after her and he bumps into me as I lose my balance and was nearly about to fall before he catches me.

I look up at him "Are you okay?" he asks and I nod as he nods back and rushes after the girl

"come back here guys, I want you to meet someone," Hodge says bringing their attention back to him. Both the kids rush back to him as he brings them to me

"Meet her, she's joining our institute from today," Hodge says as both of them come forward

"Hello, my name is Isabelle Lightwood. And you?" the brunette girl asks me

"I'm Veronica Danvers" I smile at her as she quickly hugs me hearing my name

"you have such a cool name, I can tell we'll be best of friends quickly" Isabelle chimes

"My name is Alec Lightwood, nice to meet you, Veronica," the guy who bumped into me says as I finally look at him clearly, he has black hair, brown eyes, and a smile on his face that makes me nervous as we make eye contact

"Nice to meet you, Alec," I say as we shake hands

"Welcome to the institute" he welcomes me with a smile as I smile back

"Well, Alec why don't you show her around the institute while I attend a meeting," the guy with blonde hair says as Alec looks at me and smiles

"Come, I'll show you around," he says grabbing my hand and waking ahead as he talks about the institute and how his parents are the one who are the leaders here and also the elders who handle everything here I watch him as he rambles about the places and the history.

"Don't mind but my brother here is kind of like an encyclopedia of this institute, so if you get bored tell me we can leave him and go somewhere nice" the girl Isabelle says mocking her brother as I giggle seeing the fun banter between these siblings about who wants to show me around the place

"This is our training room, and that is the weaponry there" he explains as I look over the place with admiration "So which is your preferred weapon?" he asks as I walk around the place

"I like the blades, dagger, and bow and arrow, basically any weapon that can help me fight. What do you prefer Alec?" I ask as I see a glimmer of happiness in his eyes

"I like bow and arrow better than sword, it gives me a wide range of attack," He says as he shows me around his bow and arrow and allows me to use it

I get pulled out of the flashback and rest on the terrace in shock at knowing that I knew Alec and Isabelle from somewhere before in my past, and the feelings we have been feeling for each other aren't from today but from back then.

I go back to my room to sleep after this weird vision to relax. The alarms ringing woke me up as I closed it and changed into my workout clothes, took my dagger, and walked to the weaponry

I was practicing my aiming practice when I saw Alec coming over for his practice. He walked over and took out his bow and arrows and started shooting, his aim had gotten better than before.

I watched him shoot and walked to the other side watching him and thinking about my last night's vision as I accidentally pressed the button and the targets started moving he smirked looking my way as I got stiff for a moment looking at him and then pull myself out of the stance and direct him to shoot as he shoots perfectly

"You're a quick learner," I said as I touched the bridge of my nose hiding my blush

"what can I say the teacher was good" he claimed as I smiled

"Well there's something that I might need some help with too " Walking over to the table I picked up the seraph blade and showed it to him

"Handling this is becoming a headache for me, it doesn't just come out when I swirl it around, Care to lend a hand," I said as I swirled it around like a blade but it didn't work as it didn't glow

Alec stood there taking in the site in front of him as he tried hard to hold together a laugh  
"Didn't think a person good with weapons won't know how to operate them" he said walking over to me

"Everyone needs help once in a while, just like you did," I said giving out a sarcastic comment

"Well. first of all, all they have a name," he said as I looked at him "You're joking right?"

"no, give him a name" he instructed as I thought of a name

"Elijah," I called out as the blade began glowing in my hands I laughed "You could have told me this earlier" I exclaimed excitedly as the blade glowed as I swerved it around enjoying this adrenalin rush through me, as Alec came and grabbed my hand as I stopped to look at him

He nodded as we both swirled the blade around with his hands wrapped around mine showing me the right direction, while I focused on the blade trying to ignore the butterflies I was feeling after his touch.

He moved away and I picked up the pace in no time. He stood there watching me with a smile on his face.

"You know I have never had trouble fighting with weapons once I know how to use them. After all, I like every weapon that can help me fight" I say swirling around the blade as I turn and it reaches his neck

Alec has this shocked expression as if he heard something he shouldn't have and I remembered that I had just repeated the phrase I used back then. I withdrew the blade knowing my mistake and left for my room without saying a word as he kept thinking about where had he heard this before.

I got a text from Magnus on my phone after breakfast as I reached my room

Magnus:
" can't come out of my lair, Valentine's hunting me down, but I know a way to bring back Clary's memories and some information on Dot."

Veronica:
"It's okay I understand the situation's risky for you. I'll meet you soon "

Texting back I walked out in the lobby to meet Clary and the others to talk about Magnus's message.

"You received the message from Magnus?" Clary asked seeing me walk up to her as I nodded

"Who else?"

"Just the two of us I think," She said

"Well what are we waiting for let's go and see him," I said

"Well, it's not that easy to work around Magnus even if he's willing to come out. We need a place which he wouldn't say no to" Hodge stated as we both walked with him over to the monitor

"He's a warlock known for luxury and fun," he said

"Then I know the exact place to meet him," Isabelle said taking away the tab from Hodge's hand and pulling up I'm a down-world club as I smiled

"A downward rave, nice choice Izzy" Hodge said as she smiled

"I know this place it will be easy, to go there," I say as everyone turns to me

"How do you know it?" Jace asks

"Well for you this might be some shady down-world rave thing, but for us mundanes, it's just another club that we go to every Saturday night after work," I say as Isabelle smiles

"Well let's get ready then we don't have much time on our hands," she said as I smiled and went to change for the party
