With Emily back safely at home with Peter I continue living at the Institute as new missions come our way every new day

"So how did you guys like this cafe's food or coffee?" I ask

"I would like to try something else," Isabelle comments

"Who's caught your eye?" I ask her as she points over to the guy behind the counter

"Ah, Brian nice choice" I wink back taking a sip from my coffee as she smiles

"You know him?"

"Yeah, He's a nice guy, helped me a lot during my starting days in the force," I said as Isabelle plays with her coffee

"What about you Alec, liked anything so far?" I ask as he looks up from his coffee

"I like the coffee, but not more than the one I had in the morning," he flirted as I felt his leg touching mine under the table, I sip my coffee blushing

I called Jimmy over as he walks over to get the guy's order "Veronica," Isabelle says

"Morning there are no seats left, so we were hoping if you could give us your company," I said flirting with one of them

"You look stressed, you could use some company," Isabelle says leaning forward as the guys shift letting us in

"I was hoping we could continue our conversation somewhere private?" I smile as we make our way out as Isabelle finishes off one of them

"How're you connected to these demons speak before I kill you?" I ask my dagger placed at his neck

"Why would I," He says running away

"Then how about telling the authorities you'll be presented in front of?" I ask as Matt handcuffs him

"We should deliver the blood to the hospital," Alec says

"Alec's right, our job's not done till yet," Jace corrects him

"And whom will you deliver it to?" Jessy hissed

"The hospital staff and besides we know our way," Isabelle fired back

"Then be prepared to get ready arrested, because you'll be the number one suspect then" Jessy exclaims

"We know our way around, you don't need to worry" Jace hissed calling out Jessy

"Calm down all of you, what are you teenagers?" I say stepping between this fight

"We are going together the discussion ends here," I look back as Jessy walks away with Jason and Torri waiting back in the car

"Any problem?" the receptionist at the hospital asks

"These people have some blood samples which they captured before they could be sold in the market," Veronica says

"Can you call the chief down we would like to have a chat" Matt says as the woman nods

"You asked for me?" She asks

"Yes Mrs. Goodwin, I'm Veronica and this is my partner Matt we're from the Special Task Force" She nods welcoming us to her cabin

"My friends here got some information about blood samples being sold out from hospitals." I addressed as she looks at Alec, Izzy, Clary, and Jace

"We have someone in our custody who was dealing in this. We would like to know if these samples match your blood bank" Matt says placing the briefcase in front of her as she examines it

"These are our hospital's blood samples kept in the basement storage," she says as Matt and I give each other a common look

"Then we have a serious matter to be discussed, regarding the safety of the hospital and your patients Mrs. Goodwin" She nods in response

"Thank you for saving our reputation just give me a few minutes," she makes a call as we walk out

"Good work in there," I high-five Izzy and Clary

"Well now you guys can go back and relax, I'll see you as soon as we wrap this up,"

"Make sure to come early, we'll have someone waiting around" Jace whispers and I chuckle seeing Alec and nod

"Be safe and call if you need me," Alec said

"I'll be back soon don't wait for long," I say and patt his cheek as he smiles and walks away

The Director calls a meeting as we take our place "What we have come across today tells us that there is someone who is not as trust worthy and loyal in not only this but a lot of hospitals around the city," Matt says leading the meeting

"Which brings us to today's motto that we need to have a clear and thorough background check on every employee of the hospital whom you have hired, no matter how dear or how long they have been working for you," I say

"But how is it possible we trust our staff more than the hospital itself, if this news goes out we'll be doomed in business," a guy across the table says

"I know and that is why we're proposing this agenda to get a background check. I know we trust our people more than anything,-" Matt explains

"I request you all to issue these blood sample dealings to the health authorities" I continue as they all nod

We wrap up the meeting and leave for our place I walk into the institute passing the lobby I make my way over to the training area and get ready for training as I see Alec training shirtless

I see his perfectly trained body move according to his attack, his muscles and hands moving across the punching bag perfectly showcasing his muscular body.

As I move away I see a few female shadow hunters watching him from a distance, swooning over him as I shoot them a glare, as they leave

"When did I get this possessive for him?" I thought mentally cursing myself as I pick up my duffel bag

"Veronica," he calls out "I didn't thought I would get to see you being jealous" he flirts leaning over the table

"It-it's not like that. I don't like you" I move away from him

"You should put on a shirt on," I say playing with the dagger in my hand locking my eyes on the target

"Why? Scared you won't be able to hold a conversation for long" he whispers as he slips his hand around my waist turning me around as he takes away the dagger hanging by my jean's pocket

"You wanna train with me? Or you're afraid I might knock you out" his slightly growing smirk searches my eyes for an answer

"It's not as easy to knock me out as you think Alec Lightwood" I smirk eyeing him as he smiles

"Scared?" He smiles knowingly as I smile back

"I'm not scared, I can easily handle you all by myself just not in the mood to do so right now. I'm gonna go change" I say placing giving him a little push as he grins widely

I close my bedroom door but it's suddenly stopped in between as I see Alec on the other side of the door

"What is it, Alec?" I ask letting go of the door while he watches me

"I didn't get to spend time with you this whole week. So I was hoping that, we still haven't gone on our first date." He says as I nod and sits beside me

"Are you sure? " I ask as our hands touch each other

"Yes a date, I want to know you Veronica, the real you" he says holding my hand in his

"Okay, I'll go out with you, but let me remind you my life's nothing to be bragged about" I answer as he leans in and placing a soft kiss on my lips as we both smile

"We'll see. I'll pick you at 7" He winks leaving the room

"Someone's got a date tonight, and we don't know?" I hear Isabelle who's sitting on the kitchen counter dangling her feet

"It's just a date Izzy besides how did you know?"

"Word travels fast here especially if you're family, which you are now" She grins sitting next to me

"I'll drop by 6 to help you get ready," Isabelle squeals

"I can get ready myself,"

"This is needed besides we get to take a look at your closet" Clary chimes up as I chuckle

"Fine, you both can take whatever you feel like from my closet," we hug

I haven't been this nervous before when it came to dating guys, It's like a second nature but I guess Alec has this effect on people around him like Magnus said

I check my clock it's 6 as I rush to my room to see Isabelle and Clary already there and going through my wardrobe

"So have you decided where you'll be going?" Izzy asks playing with my earrings

"Not yet, maybe a movie or something," I say taking out a few outfits for the date
