Chapter 17
The next day, Jules and Con were asking me all about my date with Gunnar at breakfast. I had to keep my voice down because I didn't want the others to know about my date yet. I didn't even tell Charlie yet.
At practice, I warmed up with the team except for Adam who was in his sling. Jan even came to practice with us.
Coach had wanted everyone to work on their own weaknesses today so we could fine-tune everything. Coach had put me with Dean to show him soft hands.
"Ok, Dean! I'm gonna pass you this puck, all you have to do is send it back!" I smiled back at Dean who was a good distance away from me.
A crate of pucks at my side with my stick in my hand, "Pretty simple enough." Dean nodded.
Rolling my eyes, I sent the puck over to Dean. He received it and slapped the puck really hard to me. I kinda jumped out of my skin when I cradled the puck, "Dean that was just a bit too hard," I chuckled. "Don't slap the puck like this," I demonstrated with my stick, except I didn't hit the puck. "Glide it over like this," I then brought my stick back and sent the puck over to Dean, who was watching me. "Give it another try. I'm not giving up on ya, Dean." I nodded.
Dean somewhat slapped the puck but also glided the puck over to me, it was somewhat in the middle of good and bad, "Like that?"
"Ya, it's getting there!" Dean smiled confidently at his improvement. "Now we're just gonna keep doing this same thing, back and forth." I then sent the puck over to Dean.
Half of the time we were passing the puck back and forth, Dean was slapping the puck, but he was really trying his best to resist the urge to slap it.
Coach and Jan were walking around when the two came up behind me to watch Dean's progress. Dean had finally established the perfect pass when Coach and Jan came to watch.
Receiving the pass I smiled like a maniac, "Dean! That was perfect!"
"Great job Dean." Coach and Jan applauded his work.
Dean took a little bow, holding his one hand in front of him while his other was behind him, "Thank ya, thank ya." He grinned.
"Now just really concentrate and try to do that same pass again!" I waved my hands in the air before sending the puck back over.
Dean kept his eyes on the puck and sent it back over, it was so close to being perfect, "Here, Dean! Let's try something else!" Coach suggested.
The three of us all went over to Dean who had both of his hands on the butt of his stick. While I brought the puck over with us.
Coach grabbed the puck from me using his stick, "Knee bends?" I asked.
"Yup," Coach nodded before looking at Dean. "So what I want you to do is simple. Move the puck to one side, take a knee, stand, move the puck to the other side, take a knee." Coach demo started to Dean who was thoroughly watching him. Coach then slid the puck over to Dean. He started doing the demonstration Coach had showed him before.
"Vicki, why don't you show Connie how to cut her edges," Jan suggested, pointing out to Connie who was struggling. Jan then took my stick before I walked over to Connie.
"Hey, Con." I waved at Connie, who was in her practice gear with her stick in her hand.
"Hey, Vicki." She huffed from disappointment, placing her hands on her hips.
"Need some help?"
"Ya, and lost of it." She nodded in a sarcastic tone.
I laughed a little before coming closer to her, "What do you think you need help with?" Placing my hands on my hips.
"Well whenever I go to turn its like I feel off balance and I'm gonna tip over."
I nodded my head, "Here, show me."
Connie then got a skating head start before going to turn and cut her edge, but she started wobbling. Skating back over to me she let out a loud groan, "See."
"Ya, I see," I nodded. "Go further over when you turn, really lean on the turn."
"But I'll fall over." Connie retorted.
"It's ok Con, just trust me."
Connie then did her running start before cutting her edge and leaning into her turn, making it more balanced, then she made another turn.
She laughed before shaving the ice, "That really did work, I dunno how I didn't think of that."
"See, ya just needed to slow things down and trust yourself." I chuckled, folding my arms.
"Guess so." She smiled through her visor.
"Keep going at it, Con." I nodded before walking over to Coach.
"Great job Dean, way to keep those soft hands." Dean was still doing his knee bends before Adam skated up to Coach and I.
His hair all fluffy and his arm in a sling as he skated behind the two of us, he snaked his one free arm around my waist to pull me closer.
"Adam!" I scolded him, but it was a good type while we laughed and smiled.
Smiling, he kissed my jawline before skating off leaving me on my toes, as usual.
Adam was becoming more affectionate and giving me more PDA around the team, which I enjoyed but at the end of the day, I remember Gunnar and Olaf.
When practice was over, Jan had requested that Jules, Luis, and I would stay and not go to school. Thankfully she said yes.
"Bye guys, see ya tonight at dinner!" Jules waved to the team who was going to the locker room with Coach and Miss McKay behind them.
"Bye!" I smiled and waved to the last few people before Jan skated over to the benches.
Luis, Jules, and I were in the middle chatting when he skated back over to us with a plastic bin full of pop cans, "Vicki and Julie, do you mind if you set these up over there?" Jan gestured to a spot behind the three of us. "Luis, I've heard you don't know how to stop."
"Yeah." He said nervously as Jules and I stacked the cans in a V shape.
"Well, today's the day you learn." I could hear Jan smiling by the way he was talking.
When Jules and I finished stacking, we stood out of the way with Jan, "Ok Luis! Your speed is a great weapon!" I started.
"And you must learn how to harness it," Jan finished.
The two of us blew our whistles in unison, "Let's do it!" Jan smiled.
Luis nodded, skating down a way before shoving his helmet down over his face. He skated around, getting a head start, before going to the cans. When he tried to stop, he landed on his face, sending the cans all over the place while his stick was still in his hand.
Rushing over to him to make sure he was ok, he tilted his head up to look at me, "That's ok Luis, no one is perfect the first try."
He frowned before getting up, skating back. Jules and I stacked the cans once again.
When we stood out of the way, Jan blew his whistle. Luis did the exact same thing before crashing into the cans, picking himself up, he sighed, going back to where he was. Jules and I continued to stack the cans.
The whole circle went on for a while before Luis was so close to stopping, he still knocked over some cans but he almost fell. The three of us applauded his progress so far.
"Ok Luis! We all believe in ya! You can do it!" I cheered, clapping my hands together before Luis took his running start, heading for the cans.
When Luis did his hockey stop, he didn't knock down any cans. He frantically looked around for cans knocked down on the ice when he looked up, beaming through his helmet.
"I stopped!"
"Luis!" We all said in unison before rushing over.
"You did it, Luis!" I laughed, throwing myself at him as the two of us hugged before Jules gave him a hug. Jan smiled and patted his back.
Jan briefly looked at his watch before looking up again, "Now go get showered and changed because everyone is probably already at dinner." Jan smiled before shooing the three of us off to the locker room.
The three of us showered quickly, got changed, and met back up with the team for dinner.
When getting back with the team, Jan was right, everyone was eating dinner and waiting for the four of us to come back.
As usual, I was sitting with Con and Jules at our own table. When I looked up from my food, I felt someone staring at me. It was Adam. He was getting all red-faced and flustered. Charlie, Fulton, Dean, and Guy all looked over at the three of us before giggling like schoolgirls, looking back down at my food.
A nearby chair squeaked on the floor before I heard footsteps coming my way. Looking up I saw Adam walking my way. He stopped next to me, looking down at me before coming to meet me in the middle as we pecked each other's lips seductively. I could feel all eyes on us. Charlie and Fulton probably had flies flying in their mouths from them hanging open.
When Adam walked away, my head followed him as he left the dining room. Apparently, everyone else was watching because they all turned their heads in unison to look at me.
Coach walked into the dining room really confused, "What's going on?"
"Nothing." Guy sucked up before we all went back to eating.
"Vicki, Charlie," When our names were called, the two of us got up because Coach had signaled for us to come. "Come, we have lots of work to do." He briefly smiled at us before turning away with the two of us walking behind him, following him.
Coach took Charlie and I back to the rink, Jan was waiting for us in the locker rooms standing in front of a TV.
"Ah, I was just about to put in the tape," Jan said, taking off his glasses before putting them in his shirt pocket.
"Tape, what tape?" I questioned Coach and Jan. Charlie looked just as confused, if not more.
"They've been recording your games," Jan said, putting the VHS tape into the slot making the TV turn fuzzy.
"Not just ours," Coach started, folding his arms over his chest. "Everyone's."
The TV finally loaded the footage and began playing our game with Iceland. Jan picked up a clipboard nearby.
"We've got a lot of work to do. We've gotta study our opponents and study ourselves," Coach gestured to the TV. "We have to learn from our mistakes," Charlie pointed out how Gunnar and Olaf were almost always on the ice. "We will work hard and we're gonna succeed. Nothing will bring us down. If we fall, we'll get up and try it again."
"Well, we already know that Gunnar and Olaf are the two enforcers of the team." I pointed out, gesturing to the TV showing Ken trying to split the defense between Gunnar and Olaf, but they instead smushed him in between them.
"What makes ya say that?" Charlie looked over at me, a hint of sass in his voice.
Jan paused the TV and the two looked over at me, "Well just by the way they act. Even though Gunnar is team captain and a center player, same goes for Olaf, they are the two biggest players and enforcers," I started. "Look at how they both knocked Ken down," I grabbed the remote, reminded the tape and played it back. "They both did that with ease because Stansson put them there for that specific reason. It's called being too valuable."
I saw Charlie squint his eyes at me before I looked down at my clipboard which had a bunch of notes written down on it. I went to continue finishing up my note when I saw my watch and I almost tipped over.
"Crap! I gotta go!" I threw my clipboard to Coach before giving the remote back to Jan.
"Vic, what's the rush?" Charlie watched as I frantically rushed for the door.
"I'm gonna be late!"
With every ounce of energy, I had left inside my body, I full-on sprinted for the dorms to get ready for my date which I was going to be late to.
Thankfully, I knew what I was going to wear, so I could just throw it on and do my makeup real quick.
Slamming the door closed, I stripped off my clothes and grabbed the dress I was going to wear, which was a red floral mid-length dress with a sweetheart neckline that tied off in the front and spaghetti straps and my sandals I wore last night on my date with Gunnar.
Then I went into the bathroom and put some waves in my hair along with putting mascara and matching red lipstick on to match my dress before grabbing my purse and heading out the door.
I was speed walking all the way to the coliseum, every now and again, glancing at my watch to check the time. To my surprise, I was making good time and I didn't need to rush anymore, so I slowed down to catch my breath.
In the distance, I saw a tall figure leaning against one of the pillars in the entrance of the coliseum. His back to the wall with his one foot on it.
I knew it was Olaf. My feet skipped as I started walking over to him. A little bit of a spring in my step. As I approached Olaf, I grinned at what he was wearing. His bright blond hair was a bit messy but it was the outfit that made me smile like a maniac. Black leather jacket, white shirt, black jeans, and white Vans. He looked like a greaser from Grease or The Outsiders.
I could tell he was trying to play it cool by not looking at me but he turned his head with a smirk painted on his face, but it quickly dropped when he looked at me.
I stopped a few feet in front of him, "What's wrong?" I scrunched my face in confusion, adjusting the strap of my purse across my chest.
His mouth was hung open slightly, "If I didn't know any better I'd pin you to this wall." He said in his Icelandic accent, shoving his hands in his pockets, walking over to me.
"Well, I would probably be grinning and laughing like an idiot the entire time." I tried not to bust out laughing from Olaf.
"Why's that?" He tried to seduce me but this conversation we just going to take a 360 real quickly.
"Because you remind me of a greaser from Grease or The Outsiders!" I blushed, trying to hold in my laughter, looking at my feet.
"Is that a good thing?" He gave me his signature smile which made my knees weak.
Finally had to let it out, "I mean I guess." Laughing and covering my mouth.
"Nei, Nei, nei, lemme see that smile." He lightly gripped my wrist and moved my hand out of the way to reveal my bright shark-like smile.
"No, no, I have a sharks smile." I covered my mouth again with his hand gripping my wrist.
Olaf moved my hand again so he could stare at my smile, "Nei, it's so cute."
There was an airy silence between us because Olaf was staring at my smile, at least I thought he was.
"So, where are we gonna go?" I whispered.
"Well, I have a place in mind." He whispered back before starting to walk off without me.
"And where is that?" I raised my brow, chasing after the tall bruiting blond in the leather jacket.
"You'll find out princess." He looked down at me as we walked side by side down the sidewalk. I also think he was staring at me in my dress or maybe my necklace that Adam got me.
We walked to a bus stop before hopping on. Olaf kept a tight lip during the bus ride of where we were going on our date. When we arrived at a stop, Olaf linked arms with me as we stepped off and walked a little way to the beach.
I stared out at the beach and the sun setting on the water, "Venice Beach?" I then turned around to look at him. "We've already been here."
"Nei, this isn't Venice Beach and this wasn't what I had in mind," Olaf started, walking towards me. "This is what I had in mind." Gently he took my chin in his fingers before turning it to the side to see the Santa Monica Pier and all the fun rides.
My jaw dropped as I snapped my head back at Olaf, smiling like a maniac, "Oh my God." I croaked.
"Let's not keep the fun waiting and more." He held out his hand, waiting for me to take it.
Nodding my head, I took his hand as the pair of us dashed for the pier, pushing past people. Olaf had bought tons of tickets for the two of us so we could do anything we wanted to.
The two of us were pointing at the giant roller coaster and ferris wheel, smiling, and debating on what we should do first. I made Olaf go on the ferris wheel first because it was golden hour and the sunset would look better from a height.
When we got up to get inside a car, we stepped into a yellow one, Olaf let me inside first before we sat opposite of each other with me sitting closest to the end of the pier where the sunset was.
When we started going up, I crossed my legs and turned to look at the sunset on the ocean, setting my elbow on the car, helping me prop up my head in my hand.
"You are truly beautiful," Olaf spoke out, making me turn my head to find him staring at me. Smiling, I looked down in embarrassment as a crimson color dusted my cheeks as I bit my lip. "Kærleikurinn blossar það heitasta í leynum." Olaf shook his head slightly before running his eyes up my body, examining me again.
I was quite charmed and melted by Gunnar and Olaf talking in Icelandic, "What does that mean?"
"You'll have to be a good girl to find out." He smirked which made me bite my lip again, snapping my head back to the sunset.
The whole time we were on the ferris wheel, we were silent. When we got off, we decided to go on the bigger, faster rides.
Olaf and I were in line for the roller coaster. I was bouncing off the walls because I was so excited. When we got up to the ride, the workers were arranging pairs into lines to be put into the cars. When they got to the two of us, they put us in the number one gate which meant we were in the front.
Turning around to face Olaf, I looked at him, "We're in the front?"
"I guess so." He nodded while grinning.
"I've never been in the front of a roller coaster before." Fluttering my eyelashes, I faced forward.
"Don't worry, it's fun," Olaf started from behind me. He then placed his hands on my shoulders, crouching down to my level. "It's almost like flying, but if you think your going to get sick just laugh." He whispered in my ear before the empty car came back and the gates opened.
Swallowing the lump in my throat, with the help of Olaf, I stepped inside the car first, then the two of us sat down. Olaf was so big and tall, his legs came up to his chest while sitting so low in the car of the coaster. I laughed when I saw that before the two of us strapped on our harnesses. I then slipped my purse into the designated slot before a worker then came around to make sure we were secured properly in the cars.
I was apparently so nervous, I was death gripping the railing in front of me before the ride even started.
Olaf looked over and grabbed my hand, interlacing our fingers, making the two of us look at each other, "Remember, if you think you're going to be sick just laugh," He nodded. "Alright, princess?"
"Yeah, yeah, just laugh it off." I nodded before facing forward. The ride was just starting and coming out from under the canopy. There were screens on either side of us while we were going up the hill.
"Remember to smile and have fun!" One set of screens said, then a song came on over the speakers inside the cars.
"Also enjoy the song being played." Another pair said.
I recognized the song, the 1983 version of Sweet But Psycho making me grin and feel a bit better.
When we got to almost to the top of the hill, Olaf shook my hand to get my attention, "Ready?!" He screamed.
"Yeah!" I smiled, nodding my head, still holding his hand.
"Here we go!" He smiled as we reached the peak before dropping down.
I let out the happiest scream, mixed with laughs as we raced on the track. The wind whipping through my hair as we turned corners, sharply jolted up and down all while still holding Olaf's hand. When we went down another hill, the two of us raised our hands in the air.
When the ride ended and arrived back under the canopy, I took a deep exhale of relief before turning to Olaf who let out a chuckle from his lips. Then we were let off the ride.
"That was awesome!" I giggled, bouncing around like a little kid while walking down the exit pathway with Olaf behind me.
"Ja?" He nodded. "Did you feel like you were going get sick?"
Rolling my eyes, I threw him a hand, "Nah, it definitely felt like I was flying."
"Told you."
When we got back out into the main part of the pier, more people and music were being played over the speakers. The sun was just about to go under the water when I looked around to find our next ride.
I tugged Olaf's sleeve of his jacket to get his attention, he snapped his head to me, "Let's do bumper cars!" I smiled, pointing at the light-up sign above the bumper cars.
"Ja! I'll race you!" Olaf blurted out before racing over to the bumper cars with me laughing and coming up behind him quickly.
Cutting in front of Olaf, I put my brakes on and stopped before I ran into someone in line in front of me, "Ha, ha, ha, I win!" I pointed my fingers at him playfully before smiling and adjusting the strap to my purse across my body.
He placed his hands on his hips, catching his breath, "Ja? Well, I let you win." He winked with a grin playing on his face.
"Ya didn't have to let me win," I emphasized, placing my hands on my hips.
Again, another familiar song came on over the loudspeakers. 99 Luftballons. I started singing along to the fast upbeat song.
"Hast du etwas Zeit für mich? Dann singe ich ein Lied für dich Von 99 Luftballons-" I bounced my head and snapped my fingers.
"You listen to this song too?!" Olaf scrunched his face in happiness.
"Of course I do! I love this song!" I grinned.
"The German version is way better, ja?"
Laughing, "Is that even a question." The two of us began bobbing our heads, snapping our fingers on the downbeat, and singing along to the lyrics before getting up to the entrance of the ride.
The two of us got into separate cars, far away from each other. From across the ride, after I got strapped in, I gave Olaf the I'm watching you fingers before receiving the same gesture back from him at the other end.
The ride operator then cranked up the music and started the ride. Olaf beelined for me as I giggled like a schoolgirl trying to drive away from him on the sidewall. Then I whipped around and bumped violently into the side of his car making us grin like an idiot.
Olaf let out one of those maniacal cheeky chuckles before I backed myself up into another person causing me to bounce forward again. Olaf was about to run into me before I jolted the wheel to my side, getting out of the way, causing him to ram into the other person. Laughing, I drove away before he could ram into the other person. Turning around briefly to check if Olaf was on my tail which he wasn't, so I decided to sing out loud with the song once again while driving around, bumping and ramming into people.
I jerked forward when I was rammed into from behind and I heard Olaf's chuckles, "I could hear you singing a mile away, princess!" He teased before ramming me into the barrier.
"Oh ya?" I briefly turned around to glance at him. "Well try this on for size!" I jerked the wheel making me spin around and I started pushing him backward.
The ride then stopped which made me let out a whine. One of those whines a 5-year-old would let out. Olaf came over to my car and helped me out before walking out with his hand on my lower back.
It was finally dark out. Strands of lights that went from pole to pole hung over us, twinkling in the night. We both decided to get some dinner which was nachos that we shared and some drinks. Olaf got a Coke while I got some unsweetened ice tea.
The two of us walked around, eating our food, talking about hockey. Eventually, we sat down on a nearby bench to finish our shared nachos.
"Ok, seriously, besides hockey, do you do anything else?" I then took a sip of my tea before glancing at Olaf who sat with his leg crossed and his arm over on the back of the bench behind me.
"That's all I do. Hockey." Olaf nodded before taking the second to last nacho chip.
"You sound like Adam," I chuckled, playing with my necklace that dangled from my neck then taking the last chip, finishing the nachos. "All hockey, 24/7." I turned to look at the carnival games.
Nearby there was one of those strength games. Giant hammer and board to show how hard you hit, with a bell at the top. A guy was trying to win his girlfriend one of the giant stuffed penguins that hung near the game.
Olaf must have noticed I was staring because he chuckled seductively, "Here come on." He stood up, making me look around.
"Where are we going?" I asked, playing the dumb card while standing up.
"I am going to win you one of those penguins," Olaf pointed to the penguins. "Because gott upphaf gerir góðan endi." Olaf replied in Icelandic.
"What does that mean?" I took my drink and the empty nacho tray with me in my hands.
"A good beginning makes a good ending." He smirked.
Olaf still had his Coke in his hand while the two of us walked over to the game. On the way over, I threw away the tray.
"Step up! Step up! Test your strength!" The carnival worker called out.
When Olaf approached with me, he was a bit shocked, "I'll give it a go." He replied in an Icelandic accent.
Reading the sign, the game cost 5 tickets, so I ripped off 5 and gave them to the carnival worker. He politely thanked me before dragging the giant hammer over to Olaf. I stood back from Olaf just in case.
He rolled his eyes and slightly picked up the hammer with his one hand which looked a bit heavy.
"Hold these for me princess." He turned and gave me his Coke, which I sat down on the ground. Then he took off his leather jacket to reveal a white muscle tank top which wasn't a tee shirt.
He really did have muscles. I stared at his muscles for a moment before looking away blushing, taking his jacket in my hands.
"This is child's play to me." He smirked, slinging the hammer over his shoulder, turning to me.
A bright crimson color brushed my cheeks as I bit my lip, staring at the tall blond brute Icelandic boy who was my date for tonight.
He then turned to the game, he looked at where he had to hit, then he looked at the bell before being the hammer down off his shoulder. My eyes looked between him and the game. He held the hammer for a moment before bringing it up and swinging it down like he was chopping wood sending the meter all the way up and sounding the siren which made me bounce on my feet, rapidly clapping my hands, screaming.
"Ja, see, child's play." He winked, throwing the hammer over his shoulder.
The carnival worker reached up and grabbed the giant stuffed emperor penguin and handed it to me which made me squeal and hug the penguin.
"He's so cute!" I squeaked while holding Olaf's jacket and my drink in my hand.
"It's a he?" Olaf replied, giving the hammer to the worker before taking his jacket and picking up my drink off the ground.
"Yes, of course, he is," I squished my face on his furry plush face. "I'm naming him Olaf," I said in my cute voice while I fluttered my eyelashes.
"Ja?" He smiled, slinging his jacket over his shoulder, slurping his drink as the two of us walked away.
"Yes, he so big and cuddly just like you." Once again, I replied in my cute voice, playing with his little flippers.
"So I'm cuddly now?" He chuckled, before throwing away his drink and taking mine from my hand to hang on to.
"Yea-yeah," I stuttered. "I mean who wouldn't want to cuddle with ya? I'm tiny compared to you," I bit my lip once again. "Your tall, I would be perfect cuddling size, those strong protective arms wrapped around me and those big hands," I then took his big hand and pressed it against my palm, comparing hand size. Changing the subject, I saw a photo booth behind Olaf. "Hey look! A photo booth!" Dragging him over to the booth, he put money into the dispenser and the two of us stepped inside with penguin Olaf in my arms, in the middle of us.
The first picture we posed for was just a casual smiling one. Then the next one was me in the middle with Olaf holding penguin Olaf up as the two kissed my cheeks, while I was pretending to be shocked. The next one we posed for was Olaf made a V with his hands while I curved mine, making a heart as the two of us smiled at the camera. The last one was of us cuddling with penguin Olaf.
When stepping out of the booth, the two of us laughed at our own separate strands of pictures before walking to the ferris wheel to ride it one last time.
To my surprise we had the same car and sat in the same spots except penguin Olaf was sitting next to me.
"How did you do that with the carnival game? Was there like a trick or something?"
"Nei, back at home, my family is into logging." He nodded his head.
I half chuckled from shock, "I would have never seen ya being a lumberjack, like at all."
"Ja, carry lots of wood, get dirty, splintered hands." He leaned forward and held out his palms to reveal splintered hands. I lightly ran my fingers over the valleys on his hands.
"My home is just outside Reykjavik on the coast in the woods."
"Ya must have done lots of work."
"Ja, lots of work but good fun." He smiled.
The was an airy silence between the two of us, where Olaf was staring at me while I snuggled with penguin Olaf.
Then Olaf decided to get up and sit next to me, "Ja, ja, move over." He shoved penguin Olaf to the side, wrapping his arm around my shoulder, scooping up my legs and placing them over his, holding me close. Then using his leather jacket as a blanket, placing it over my legs.
"I wish this moment could last forever," I whispered, nuzzling my head into the side of his chest covered by the white muscle tank top.
"Ja," He nodded, before playing with my hair. "I wish it could too."
The light sounds of the waves crashing, faint sounds of music being muffled over by loud chatter from down below made my eyes heavy. I was lightly then shaken awake.
"Vicki. Vicki. Wake up, sleepy." Olaf cooed making my eyes flutter open. We were sitting down on a bench right near the ferris wheel.
Picking myself up slightly, I rubbed my eyes, "What time is it?"
"Two hours past curfew."
I moaned and rubbed my eyes at his response before he helped me up.
Before leaving the pier, we got a bag of cotton candy to share while going back to the dorms. Olaf carried my penguin Olaf in his arms while holding my hand, walking to the closest bus stop.
The two of us sat down next to each other but Olaf decided to cradle me with penguin Olaf in my hands. Before I drifted off to sleep again.
3rd POV...
The whole ride back to the dorms, the two were silent. The bus stopped near the dorms and Olaf went to look down at Victoria, only to notice she was sleeping.
Olaf gently scooped her up bridal style with penguin Olaf in her arms. Everyone gave Olaf weird stares but he reassured them that she passed out.
Olaf was cautious while walking back to his dorm room, making sure no one was following him. When he got to the window, he tapped on it just loud enough for someone to hear since there was a desk light turned on inside the room.
Then the window unlocked and slid up, a shirtless Gunnar poked his head from out the window, his face dropped when he saw Victoria in his best friend's arms.
"Alvarlega? Alvarlega, Olaf?" (Seriously? Seriously, Olaf?) He scowled at his best friend.
"Já, alvarlega, hjálpaðu mér núna að koma henni út um gluggann." (Yes, seriously, now help me get her through the window) Olaf gave Gunnar the stuffed penguin before he sat it on the floor, lightly taking Victoria in his arms.
Gently pulling her through the window before Olaf jumped inside with the cotton candy bag and his jacket, turning to close the window. Gunnar laid her head down on Olaf's pillow, on his bed.
Amselik had his feet dangling down from his bunk bed, looking at Victoria, "Er það ekki þjálfarinn frá Team USA?" (Isn't that the coach from Team USA?) He raised his brow before hopping down.
"Já, sá með örlítið mitti að sögn Olaf." (Yeah, the one with the tiny waist according to Olaf) Uberjavik elbowed Tnorisson playfully, winking.
"Er hún ekki barnið sem þú fórst með í gærkveldi?" (Isn't she the babe you went out with last night?) Amselik turned to Gunnar who was sitting at her side on Olaf's bed.
"Ójá? Hún er stelpan sem þú náðir að svipta þig á ströndinni?" (Oh yeah? She's the girl you almost stripped down on the beach?) Olaf chuckled before messing up his blond hair, throwing his jacket in his suitcase.
Gunnar was staring down at Victoria, wiping loose strands of hair to the side of her face before brushing her cheek with the side of his fingers. He stared down at her the same way that Prince Phillip stared at Sleeping Beauty. Every guy in the room was staring at Gunnar and Victoria except for Olaf, who was stripping his clothes.
"Núna þegar ég sé hana nálægt sér er hún í raun falleg." (Now I took her close to her, she's really beautiful) Uberjavik said just loud enough for everyone to hear.
Olaf changed into nothing but black sweatpants bent down to his suitcase, and pulled out his spare hockey jersey, "Gunnar, hjálpaðu mér að ná Victoria í treyjuna mína." (Gunnar, help me get Victoria into my jersey) Olaf turned to his best friend who was still staring at his new girlfriend.
"Af hverju getur hún ekki sofið í rúminu þínu og þú tekur gólfið?" (Why can't she sleep in your bed and you take the floor?) Gunnar turned to face his best friend before standing up.
"Vegna þess að ég veit, á nóttunni, þá endarðu á því að slá þig í rúminu mínu með henni." (Because I know, in the night, you'll end up snaking your way into my bed with her) He said lowly, staring down his best friend.
Gunnar rolled his eyes before picking Victoria up, letting her feet dangle over the bed as he sat with her, holding her up. Amselik took her purse and sat it on a nearby chair before coming back and helping Olaf who was slowly pulling down the straps of her red floral dress. Amselik took her arms out, showing her bare shoulders. Gunnar lightly ran his fingers up her shoulders before planting a kiss on the skin in between her shoulders and neck before Olaf lifted up her dress to reveal a toned body. Victoria had a neutral strapless bra on with matching underwear.
Olaf lowly chuckled, before scratching the bridge of his nose with a smirk wiped across his face, "Ef ég vissi ekki betur, myndi ég ríða henni í svefni." (If I didn't know any better, I'd fuck her in her sleep) Olaf gently ran his hands down the sides of her body before taking her arms and putting them through the sleeves.
Gunnar didn't like how he was running his hands all over Victoria, he snapped his head up to look at him, "Hún myndi líklega kýla þig," (She'd probably punch you,) Olaf looked at his best friend again, thinking he was joking. "En enn og aftur, ég vona að hún kýli þig þegar hún vaknar við hliðina á þér." (But yet again, I hope she does punch you when she wakes up next to you) Gunnar said lowly before helping get the jersey pulled down her body.
Amselik then bent down and took her sandals off her feet, folded her dress nicely, and brought the two over to the chair where her purse was sitting, placing it down on the seat.
Gunnar got up and pulled back the sheets to Olaf's bed before scooping up Victoria in his arms and putting her under the covers. Victoria automatically rolled over on her side facing Gunnar. He bent down, wiped her hair away from her forehead, and planted a long kiss on it. The two friends scowled at each other as they got in bed.
Amselik climbed up the ladder to his bunk, same with Tnorisson. Uberjavik walked over to her stuffed penguin and sat it on the chair with her belongings before turning off the light in the room.
Olaf pulled the covers over his body and spooned Victoria from behind, pulling her closer by her waist and wrapping his arm around her.
Victoria's POV...
My eyes fluttered open immediately as I heard the birds chirping out my window in the tree nearby. I was facing the window, so I sat up and stretched my arms. Letting faint moans in my mouth escape while my back cracked. Then I saw my belongings on a chair in front of me with penguin Olaf sitting on top. My head then snapped down to look at my clothes and I saw a baggy Iceland jersey over my body. Then I looked around the room to see where I was. I was in an Iceland dorm. Turning to my side, I saw Olaf sleeping, shirtless which made my face turn cherry red, making me snap my head away.
Glancing at my watch, I saw it was almost 8 which made me let out a loud groan.
From behind me, Olaf let out faint groans, "Please stay with me." He lightly grabbed my arm, making me turn to the blond.
His hair all bed netted, his voice almost gravelly from him just waking up, his eyes were somewhat squinted from the sun blinding him.
Chuckling, I stood up and got out of bed, looking at myself in a full-body mirror hanging from the door nearby. This jersey on my body was the only thing I had on my body except for my bra and panties. It was like a dress, coming down to my mid-thighs. Big baggy sleeves that had the numbers 27 on the sides which made me turn to face Olaf who was laying on his side, under the covers, with his arm propping his head upon the pillow.
"Seriously? You put me in your jersey." I raised a brow at the blond who seductively chuckled at me from his bed
"Ja and you look good enough to in it too," He smirked. "The other guys back me up on my-"
"Other guys?!" I snapped, getting all worried faced, my anxiety went through the roof. "Who else sleeps in here?!"
"Amselik, Tnorisson, Uberjavik, and me."
"No, there are 5 beds and you listed four names including your own," I pointed to at Olaf. "Tell me the truth!" I snapped, stomping my foot on the floor.
"Ja, ja, ja, you got me!" Olaf got up from his bed, hands up in surrender as he walked over to me. "Gunnar sleeps over there." Olaf gestured to the bottom bunk near the window with his head.
My heart dropped as my legs collapsed on the floor, "Oh my God," I whispered, putting my hands on my face. "I'm a terrible person."
"Not really, Gunnar spilled his guts about his date with you and how he was running his hands all over you," Olaf said lowly, sitting on the end of his bed, hands on his lap, he clenched his jaw.
"Your jealous," I confronted him. "You both are. The two biggest all-star enforcer alpha dogs of the Iceland team, the two best friends, and your both jealous of each other." I stood up, walking over to him.
"I want you all to myself," Olaf looked up at me, with his jaw clenched. "No one else's but mine," I scoffed, covering my face with my one hand, somewhat slouching over. "Originally, I thought I was the first to have you picked out but now I know you're the girl who flustered poor Gunnar at the party." He got my attention, asking my head snap up.
"Ya." I nodded, biting the inside of my lip.
"I guess he'll just have to put up a good fight to win you over."
A loud embarrassing laugh escape my lips as I rolled my eyes, "Seriously, fighting over me like an object? Typical men." I clicked my tongue, shaking my head.
Olaf let out a half chuckle before placing his hands on my waist, inside his jersey, rubbing his thumbs on my sides, "What's so funny?"
"Men love to fight over and for women just to assert dominance over them." I clicked my tongue again before looking down at the disheveled morning blond.
"Well, I just like to remind her of who's she is," Olaf smirked before setting me on his lap, my legs either side of him.
Olaf brushed the side of my cheek before wiping strands of hair away from my face, securing them behind my ears before peppering kisses on my jawline. He broke away for a brief moment to stare at me before our lips collided and moved together. His hands found their way to my waist and snaked their way down, slowly, making me wrap my arms around his neck while adjusting myself on to him. My hips starting to ride up his lower torso.
Everything felt so foreign but yet I already knew these feelings. Adam pushing me against the pillar in the locker room, leaving me speechless and on my toes. Gunnar at the park when we were watching The Temple of Doom. Us on the beach. In the cold wet sand while the tide slowly came up and down, lightly splashing our skin. Now Olaf. Sleeping in his bed, wearing his oversized hockey jersey while he was wearing nothing but his black sweatpants. I was tiny compared to him. Somewhat tall, slightly thin, and partly tan compared to his giant bruiting stature.
Olaf moves from my lips back to my jawline again, each kiss becoming sloppy and rough. Then his hands found their way to my butt, his hands giving it a rough quick squeeze, making me squeak, "Olaf!" Playfully scolding him by slapping his chest.
Low chuckles escaped his lips. I could feel his chest vibrating. All my scolding did was prone him to keep going. He tugged at his jersey that was on my body, wanting to rip it off me. Slightly raising my arms, Olaf broke away, helping me take off his jersey before throwing it behind him, gripping my under thighs to pick me up. I clung to him, wrapping my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck. Planting kisses on his collarbone, something I've always wanted to do to Adam.
He threw me down on his bed before crawling on top of me, slowly working his way up my stomach, planting kisses along the way. He was going all the way up, I saw him smirking when he got into my valley. My one hand found its way to his blond hair, playing with some of the strands.
"Olaf?"
"Ja?" He mumbled in between each kiss.
"Don't you have practice today for your game against Canada?"
"Ja, but I'd rather stay here and kiss every inch of your body." He mumbled in between kisses as he tilted my head to the side to expose my neck before he attacked it.
I just laughed at his response and continued to let him attack my neck with him hovering over my body, still playing with his hair.
After a little bit of him attacking my neck, I pushed him off me, making him the bottom before I seductively crawled on top of him, lacing our legs together, snuggling my head into the crook of his neck.
Lifting my head, I looked down at the blond, "You said something last night in Icelandic, you said if I was a good girl you'd tell me."
"I said Kærleikurinn blossar það heitasta í leynum," He repeated in Icelandic. "Love flares the hottest in secret." He then brought me close and bit my lower lip.
Rolling my eyes, a chuckle escaped my lips, "I have to go to practice-" I started to get up, but my arm was grabbed by Olaf, as I was pulled back down.
"Nei, stay, princess." He pleaded.
"I have to go or else my head will be on a silver platter." Getting back up once again, I went over to my clothes and put them on. Olaf walked up behind me as I slipped my dress back on, wrapping his arms around my waist, bringing me close and kissing my cheek from behind.
"I'll see you soon, Olaf," I mumbled before turning around with my sandals in my hand. "Don't worry." Standing on my tiptoes, I pecked his lips before picking up my legs, slipping on my sandals one at a time before grabbing my purse and my stuffed penguin from the chair.
Olaf walked my out, leaning on the door, still shirtless, "I can tell you enjoy me like this."
"Maybe," I said with my back to him, spinning around facing him in the hallway.
"Stop lying to my face, princess."
"Ok, well, ya promise you'll go to practice?"
"Ja, ja, I promise," He shot his hands in the air in defeat. Smiling I was walking away when Olaf caught my attention again, making me spin around. "Nei, nei, gimme one more before you go." He whined.
I giggled before coming up to him again, "Ok, one more." I smiled before our lips met again, we smiled into our kiss before I broke away, walking back to my dorm room.
