30 - Justice
a/n : Hello all! Before we get into this chapter, I just want to note a few things. Firstly, I am so thankful for you guys that I completely forgot to thank you for 3k reads and now we're already at 4k, so I am beyond grateful to every single one of you reading! Secondly, I want to apologize for killing off Ayzel as I know that a lot of you weren't too happy I did so, but I just wanted to explain my reasoning:
- Ayzel was an extremely troubled man and has suffered so much pain and trauma throughout his life, and so I thought that even though he did redeem himself and should he have lived, his problems would have probably continued to haunt him for the rest of his life and caused him even more pain. I just thought that his sacrifice would've made a bigger impact if he died and also to show that he would finally be at peace, making amends with his parents in 'another life'. Also, this is where Devica comes into the equation: I honestly don't think that Ayzel would have even mentioned her name to (y/n) if he wasn't on the brink of death, and without him being on his deathbed it would just make Devica's introduction feel a lot more forced and unnatural.
I hope that has cleared a few things up, I'll stop rambling now and actually get into the chapter so I hope you agree with my reasoning for Ayzel's death (I'm gonna miss my bb boy so much :'( ) and are enjoying the story so far!! <3

{TW : Recap on death, and murder}
{Y/N'S POV}
"Just go, find her. I-I love you Starlight..." my tears splashed down onto Ayzel's face as I continuously begged him not to leave me, panic and an overwhelming sense of grief washing through my body as I was forced to look upon the shivering, almost lifeless body of my older brother, my arms shaking as I cradled him closely in my embrace.
"Ayzel... Ayzel no! No, no, no, come back! Don't go... please, I still need you-" I cry in broken sobs, choking on my tears as I watch Ayzel's eyes slowly flutter closed, feeling his last breath caress my cheek gently. His body grew limp in my arms, his head losing its support and falling down my arms slightly. "Ayzel..." I whisper, holding his body closer to mine, resting my head on his messy brown hair as I let out a heart-wrenching scream much like the one when I thought I had lost him the first time a year ago...
But this time, it was real.
I shuddered as the cold breeze wafted around me, attacking me as I felt myself slowly drifting further and further away, allowing my grief, pain and my hatred to monopolize my body. I gritted my teeth, clenching my fists around Ayzel's lifeless body as I looked up to face Anakin, Obi-Wan, Rex and Ahsoka who were looking upon me with pitiful and concerned looks in their eyes. I shift my glance from them slowly and across the grassland to fixate on the slightly fearful looking Dathomirian piece of scum that took my brother from me, her Master no-where in sight.
She took him from you.
Gently, I untangled myself from Ayzel's pale body and carefully lay him down on the grass, holding my hand to his cheek before slowly taking a knee and heaving my body from the floor, staring Ventress directly in the eyes with an unforgiving look in mine. I allowed my tears to fall down my cheeks as I silently continued to make deadly eye contact with Ventress, feeling my emotions grow stronger and more overpowering with each passing second. It was as if my grief and inner suffering had taken the form of a type of force, enshrouding me from head to toe with the deepest hate for Ventress as it spread through my body as quickly as a lethal virus would.
She killed your brother.
Without breaking my eye contact with Ventress, I suddenly outstretched my hand to my side, the sensation of a presence coursing through my veins in my hands as Ventress observed me carefully in confusion. The tears still streaming and strands of my hair blowing in front of my face as the presence grew stronger in my hand, feeling it pull towards my lightsaber discarded on the grass from when I had given myself over to Ayzel. I focused on the great deal of pain that was weighing upon me, making the presence grow even stronger until it finally reached the point where I suddenly felt the cool metal hilt of my saber fly into my hands. I grip my hands around the hilt as Ventress looks at me in bewilderment and surprise of my force wielding ability.
Are you just going to let her get away with it?
With no hesitation, my finger grazed the activation button on my hilt and I pressed down onto it, the blue blade of my saber shooting out from beside me. I snarled at Ventress as I watched her hand slowly reach down to touch the hilts of her lightsabers clipped onto her long, ragged skirt.
"You will pay for the act of treason against the Prince of Solaris. I will have justice," I yell to her, my voice startling even myself as I hear my strained vocal chords echo across the field to Ventress, a hint of aggression also appearing in my voice.
"You wouldn't want to try me, your highness," Ventress growled smoothly, swiftly whipping out her lightsabers and igniting them so her blood-red blades come shooting out before us.
"Stop being a coward and fight me then!" I provoked her, swinging my lightsaber in the same motion Anakin had taught me the first time I had received it. I could sense her anger growing as I watched her pace on the spot a little, my expression not faltering once as I blocked out everything on the field but her so I could completely concentrate on how much I wanted to kill her.
"(y/n), what are you doing.. you don't have to do this-" I heard the muffled voice of Anakin desperately call to me from a few metres near my position. I shook my head and raised my available hand up to him, commanding him to stop talking.
"Very well then..." Ventress snarls, holding her lightsabers in a battle stance as she squints her eyes menacingly at me. "You shall suffer the same fate as your dear brother over there... don't worry, you will join him soon."
Feeling my anger and rage flow through my body, I let out a yell and charge at Ventress, swinging my saber at her violently. She defends herself by crashing our lightsabers together and pushing them towards my body, the blades creating a violet hue in the middle as the vibrant reds and blue collided with each other. I try to control my breathing as the blades near dangerously close to my neck, trying to gather my strength before making my next move. I looked Ventress directly in her cold eyes as I gripped onto my lightsaber hilt before pushing her two sabers away from me, immediately ducking as she went for another strike whilst she assumed I was vulnerable.
Whilst I was crouched on the floor, before Ventress could make another attack, I place my palms behind me on the ground and supported my body weight as I used my new balance to kick out my legs, making Ventress gasp and stumble backwards as my foot came into contact with her organs in her abdomen. Fortunately, she lost grip one of her sabers as she landed onto the floor, her lightsaber left at my feet as she attempted to regain the air my foot had nicely knocked out of her. I bend down and grip onto the curved hilt, igniting it and staring into the crimson red blade of the lightsaber in front of me. I aim her lightsaber down at her heart, my blue one still hanging at my side.
Now look who's got the upper hand.
"You don't scare me, Princess," she gasped in a defensive tone, spitting at my feet as she frantically reached for her other lightsaber laying at her side on the grass. Rolling my eyes, I bring her own lightsaber down to her right foot and slice at it, so to severely wound but not fully decapitate it. I smirked as she cried out in pain, her hand releasing her last lightsaber so she could reach to examine her foot. Whilst her foot seared in agony, I used the Force once more to lift her spare saber and throw it across the field, landing at Obi-Wan's feet so she couldn't retrieve it.
As Ventress grasped her blistering ankle in immense pain, I circled her so that I was now positioned behind her and so I could now also see the shocked and fearful faces of Anakin, Obi-Wan, Rex and Ahsoka standing across from me. Trying to ignore them, I deactivate my lightsaber and clip it to the belt on my green pants, cupping the air in front of me with my newly available hand. My body now shaking a little as I pushed my ability further, I felt the force flow to the very tips of my fingers, slowly lifting Ventress from the floor, choking her more as she rose to my height. I released the invisible grip around her neck, making her gasp once again for air as I hook my arm around her to put her into a firm headlock. I laughed into her ear the more she writhed and struggled against me, relieving my anger a little as I heard the occasional grunts of pain escape her mouth.
"The Princess might not scare you, dear Ventress... but I'm sure as hell the Queen does," I chuckled evilly in her ear, feeling that same lust to kill the assassin a while back suddenly take control of me as I desperately wanted to drive her own lightsaber straight through her pathetic body. I breathed heavily as my hand quivered around her saber, making Ventress shift her head to look me in the eyes, her own widening in fear as we made eye contact.
"Your-your... you-" she gasped, now struggling more to get away from me.
My eyes.
I quickly lowered my head a little so Obi-Wan or Rex or even Ahsoka couldn't see the amber-yellow that had eliminated any trace of (y/e/c) in my irises.
"I-I didn't mean to kill him! I was aiming for you!" Ventress pleaded as I tightened my grip around her neck, her arms frantically trying to pull mine from her. "D-Dooku told me to!"
I rolled my eyes as my hand tightened around the curved hilt of her saber at my side, "So that means you have absolutely no free will? You were completely in control of you actions. Besides... whether you aimed for me or not; my brother is still dead," I growled in her ear, hearing her whimper a little as I raised the saber in front us both, illuminating her face in the blood-red light.
Finish her.
"This is for Ayzel." I whispered directly into her ear, causing her to shudder as I retracted the blade from her lightsaber and pressed the hilt harshly onto the middle of her back.
"(y/n) wait!" Ahsoka screamed to me, but I simply blocked out her voice as I eyed Ayzel's body on the floor across from me, feeling my anger and grief return to me again even stronger this time.
Finish her now.
My eyes now clouding with my own tears, I pressed the activation button and watch in delight and in relief as Ventress' own red lightsaber suddenly comes shooting out from her body in front of us. I see her eyes widen in terror as she looked upon the blade impaling her, letting out a few staggered gasps as I retracted the lightsaber and allowed her body to fall limply to the floor. Clipping the hilt of her saber onto my belt along with mine to take with me as a form of trophy from our fight, I take a knee and hover over her as she fights for air.
"You're too dangerous to be running- to be running a system. You might think you're good but even I can sense you're going to lead to the creation of something... something terrible-"
"You really think I'm going to listen to the piece of scum who murdered my brother?" I scoffed, shaking my head at her as my anger continued to control my actions.
"Be wary of who you trust..." Ventress lets out one more gasp, her eyes fluttering as the air finally leaves her body, making her suddenly relax, her blue eyes glazing over as I stared into them. Pushing myself back to my feet, I let go of my hate and look down on the body at my feet, moving my glance over to Ayzel's body on the floor.
Ignoring the horrified expressions of Obi-Wan, Anakin, Rex and Ahsoka, I slowly walked over to Ayzel's body and gently moved his hair from his forehead as I examined the cauterized wound much like Ventress' in his abdomen. It broke me to see him like this, but I knew now that he was finally at peace.
And I have avenged his death.
"We need to get out of here, Solarians are approaching and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't want to see their Queen in possession of a Sith lightsaber with two dead bodies at her feet," Rex warned us as he peered his head past the willow tree.
I heard Anakin approach me, grabbing gently onto my right arm and pulling me away from Ayzel, "(y/n), we have to go now."
"I can't- I can't leave him," I resisted, my tear-filled eyes not leaving Ayzel's body for one second. Anakin sighs and jerks his head at Obi-Wan to summon him over whilst still keeping his hand on my arm.
"Master, I need you to carry Ayzel back to the ship."
Obi-Wan nods to Anakin and hesitantly wraps his arms around Ayzel's body, hoisting him from the floor and begins to walk back to the ship along with the assistance of Rex. As Ahsoka disappears off with them, Anakin kneels down before me and gently brings his thumb up to my cheek to wipe away my tears.
"Don't cry, my Princess. It's ok, you're ok now," he whispers, bringing me gently into the security of his embrace, resting my head against his chest to listen to the thudding of his heartbeat. I allowed myself to breathe, my breath hitching as my tears caused me to hyperventilate a little, feeling all my anger slowly fizzle away as Anakin held me in his arms, replacing it with complete and utter grief.
"He's dead... they're both dead.. I-I killed her Anakin, what have I done?" I spiral a little, panic rushing through me as I realize that I had actually killed Ventress.
"It's ok, (y/n), I got you. We'll work this out together; let's just go back to the palace.. ok?" Anakin whispers once more, pulling away from me to help me up from the floor. He grasps hold of my hand, lacing our fingers together and squeezing it gently as he tried to lead me over to the ship to join Obi-Wan, Rex and Ahsoka.
"I can't go back to the palace; n-not yet," I stammer, pulling on Anakin's hand to stop him in his tracks and bring his beautiful blue eyes to meet mine.
He furrows his eyebrows at me in confusion as his gloved thumb gently caressed the top of my hand, "Why not?"
"Because I need you to come to Corellia with me."
"Corellia? What-why would you want to go there?" Anakin asks, laughing a little upon the mention of the planet.
"So I can find my sister," I respond bluntly, trying not to get a huge reaction from him.
"Oh ok..." Anakin nods, the information completely going over his head until he suddenly realises, widening his eyes at me as he looks down on my face, "I'm sorry... your what ?!"
