CHAPTER SIX - old time's sake
September 18th, 2010
(A/N: Roy's dad will be referred to as Richard sometimes. Just wanted to say that bc a lot of people don't know his name is Richard lol. Also in the new Kevin short there's a white fluffy cat when Kevin has his breakdown, and Roy's cat Isabella I hc to be a white fluffy cat...ig I predicted it)
7:20pm.
Roy was sitting in his room. Watching tv while bundled up in his blankets. it was mid September so usually it gets chilly around this time, especially for Roy. He heard his cat meowing, he looked down at the floor and saw his cat sitting there, meowing. Roy assumed she wanted attention, so he picked her up, putting her on his bed and petting her. The cat continued meowing. "What do you want?" Roy asked with a smile. He loved his old lady cat. The cat continued meowing.
"You wanna go in your cat tree?" Roy asked as he pet her, trying to get her to calm down. The cat continued meowing. "I'll take that as a yes." Roy mumbled, he picked the cat up and got out of bed, walking to the cat tree and putting her in her favorite spot at the very top. He pet her some more. "There, you gonna stop being a pain now?" He asked, still smiling. For context, Roy's cat is pretty old, and she went blind a few years ago so she can't get in her cat tree without falling. He heard the doorbell ring downstairs. "Coming!" He yelled.
He ran downstairs, stopping once he saw that his dad already answered the door and was talking to his friends. The man glared at him. Roy grumbled. He didn't want another lecture later about how he shouldn't talk to poor people. "Who are these boys Reynold?" He raised an eyebrow, signaling for his son to come downstairs. Roy rolled his eyes and walked down the last few steps, walking over to his dad. "They're my friends dad. I said they could sleepover." He said as he crossed his arms.
"You better fix that attitude Reynold. I don't want these strange little boys in my house." He said, glaring at the two kids standing outside. "We're not strange! Can we just stay over a little bit?" Robert protested. He grumbled, he didn't want these kids in his house. "Fine, just don't eat anything out my fridge, don't touch anything, don't sit on my couches, don't make a mess, and definitely don't sleep in my son's bed. You're sleeping in the guest bedroom for sticky kids like you." Roy rolled his eyes. At least they could stay over I guess.
Ross and Robert gave each other a look, before nodding and walking inside. Richard shut the door behind them both and whispered in his son's ear. "When I say I don't want those kids sleeping in your room I mean it. They could have herpes or something. I know what gay little teens like you do nowadays." Roy let out an annoyed sigh. Here comes the lecture again. He just rolled his eyes. "Don't roll your eyes at me. When those boys start making moves on you don't come back crying to dad. I was once a teen too, I know what you little brats do at sleepovers."
Roy just nodded, he didn't want another lecture. "Okay okay! they won't sleep in my room. Geez.. and I'm not gay either." He pouted as he walked to the living room where his friends were. He saw as Robert was raiding his kitchen, eating the cookies moments after being told not to... "Robert! What were you just told?!" He pouted, grabbing the store bought container and taking it away from him. "what? I got a sweet tooth!" He said in between chewing. Ross, sitting next to Roy, scowled upon hearing the sounds of Robert eating. He looked over to the fridge and saw a few baby photos of Roy when he was little. There was even one of him and Roy...it was a picture of Roy giving him his usual suffocating hug. Ross never liked those hugs.
Roy sighed, facepalming. "Whatever...just don't get crumbs everywhere..." he said as he put the plastic container in the pantry. Roy walked out the kitchen, as the two other boys followed behind him. He walked upstairs and led them into his bedroom. It was pretty empty, just a small mattress on the floor, a tv sitting across, and a little cat tree with his cat sleeping on there. "Sorry my room isn't that cool, we just moved in and dad said I'll have to sleep like this until then. Ughh..." he groaned as he flopped onto his bed. Ross & Robert sat next to him on the edge of the bed.
"It's fine dude!" Robert said with a smile, patting him on the back. Ross looked around the room, noticing Roy's cat. He frowned. He grew a fear of cats ever since Roy left. "You still have Isabella?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. "Duh! Of course I still have her!" Roy said with a smile. He got up from his bed and walked over to the cat tree she was currently sitting in. He pet her, letting the little thing purr soothingly. Robert giggled. "You're still just as obsessed with her as I remember." Robert said in between laughs.
Roy picked the cat up. The cat didn't protest, just letting Roy pick her up. He held her like a baby, cradling her. He slowly placed her on the bed near the two boys. Ross scooted away from the cat. He didn't really like them. "Damn Roy, how'd you get the old lady to be so calm? She used to try to rip your face off when you picked her up." Robert chuckled. "She went blind a few years ago, and ever since she became a lot nicer." Roy smiled, petting the thing. "Do you have any games we could play or something?" Ross asked, still a little scared of the small little ball of fluff sitting in infront of him. "Of course I do! Whatcha wanna play?" Roy said, sitting next to Ross. "I dunno, what do you have?" He shrugged.
All three boys spent the night playing games together, until Ross got tired and laid in Roy's bed as the other two continued playing. Ross couldn't sleep, they were being really loud and annoying. He watched as Robert kept teasing Roy. He wrapped himself in his blankets. He heard a knock on the door. Roy perked up. "Come in!" He yelled. Ross sat up, watching Richard, Roy's dad walk in. "What are you boys doing still up? And get out my son's bed!" He said, pointing at Ross laying there.
"He's just tired! Can we stay up for a little longer dad? Please??" Roy begged, pulling the classic puppy eyes trick. Richard scowled as he saw Roy's pathetic attempt at being cute. "No, go to sleep. And get that boy out of your bed before you catch something!" He said firmly, crossing his arms. Roy pouted. "Fine, I'll go to sleep!" He huffed, crawling into bed. "Get out Ross, it's time to sleep." He crossed his arms. Ross nodded and got out of bed. Robert sat up front he edge of the bed and stood next to Ross.
Richard took a second to glare at the two boys, before opening the door and signaling them to follow. Ross and Robert followed behind, before being led to a small guest bedroom with two blow up mattresses. "Go to sleep, and don't make out or whatever boys do nowadays." Robert chuckled at that. Ross elbowed him, trying to shut him up. Richard didn't say anything, just glaring at them and turning the lights off. He left the room, closing the door. Ross sighed and walked up to one of the mattresses, covering himself in the blanket. Robert did the same.
2:06am.
Ross tossed and turned, groaning he couldn't sleep at all because of Robert's stupid snoring. He got out of bed lazily and headed off to Roy's room, trying not to wake up Robert. He slowly opened the door, revealing Roy bundled up in his blankets and sleeping peacefully. He closed the door behind him and walked over to his sleeping body. He tapped his shoulder. Roy flinched and woke up immediately. "H-huh?!" He said in an alerted manner. He looked scared. "Dude! Calm down! It's just me." Ross whisper-yelled.
He put a hand on his shoulder, trying to calm him down. Roy seemed to ease up a little as he felt Ross's hand on him. "What do you want?" He raised as eyebrow."I can't sleep. That stupid blow up mattress is really uncomfortable, and Robert's snoring really loud. I'm surprised Robert even fell asleep on that thing." He grumbled. Roy scooted away, patting the empty space and waiting for Ross to lay down. Ross nodded and slowly got in bed with him. He yawned and fell asleep shortly after.
