3rd Person's POV

A knock on the front door makes the silence in the building so loud. Pepper gets up from the couch in the living room and hurries to the door. Opening it she looks up in surprise and gasps.

"Tony!"

Tony who is downstairs working on upgrades to his suit hears a loud yell and stops working. He looks up wondering if it was just his head then heard it again.

"Tony!!! Come here!!"

Frowning, he puts down his tools and jobs up the stairs. As soon as his foot hits the last step he looks at the room and feels his heart drop.

Taking slow steps towards Pepper, he fears his heart is going to beat out his chest. Staring at the person in  awe and surprise he stops his advances toward them.

"Hey big brother."

Tony stares in shock at Sammie Dylann Todd who had been gone for over a year. No text message, no phone call, no email, no nothing.

"You do realize you're like 45 years older than me."

He crosses his arms trying look stone cold. He had felt hurt that she couldn't even let him know she was okay. She promised she would never run away again. He had been a mess looking around everywhere for her just to look on the news and see her with Natasha and Steve.

"Just because we're not actually siblings doesn't mean anything. You were there for me when I didn't have anyone else... you're my family Tony."

Tony laughs humorlessly. You can hear the pain in his voice, "Well if I were really your family, then I would at least get a message that you were okay. Something to let me know that you weren't dead. Family doesn't do that Sammie."

Sammie shrinks back in shock as she hears Tony call her Sammie. Even after finding out the truth about who she was and gaining her memories back Tony had still called her Dylann. He always said, 'You're still my sister. I've known you as Dylann, you're staying Dylann.'

She watches as Tony storms away and stomps back down the stairs. Pepper sighs and puts her hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry Dylann. He just needs time. He was really hurt."

"I know... hurting him was not my intention."

Sammie shakes her head then follows where Tony had disappeared. She comes to a glass door with a code. She puts her hand on her chin then thinks about what the possibilities could be.

"Oh duh." She murmurs to herself then typed in a code.

The keypad beeps then the door opens. Sammie smirks and walks in. She sees Tony standing by his suit fixing up the chest plate.

"Pepper... really?"

"It's an easy code to remember." Tony says not looking at her.

"Mhmm..."

Sammie walks over Tony and sit down across him. They sit in silence not even glancing at each other. Tony finally sighs and looks into her eyes. Sammie frowns as she sees a little hurt reflected back into her own.

"Why are you here?"

"Because Tony you're my family. I love you... I'm so sorry I hurt you. I didn't mean to. That was never my intention. It's just... I-I am so scared. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm not like you and Steve. I'm not a superhero. All my life I believed I was just a normal girl. I mean yes I was smarter than everyone else but I didn't know I had powers. So when I hurt you years ago I was terrified. Of myself... of my powers... everything. I came back because I thought I had it all figured out. Then Steve comes back and I get my memories back. And I go haywire..."

Tony frowns as he looks at Sammie start to sniffle. Tears slowly fall down her cheeks as she relives the past few years.

"Do you know how scary it is to not have control of your body? To do things you never thought you would ever do. To just feel so much hatred and want so much destruction?... I never thought once in my life that what happened in New York would ever happen. It was the worst thing ever. But Steve helped me and he brought me out of that darkness. But then for me to do the same thing I did to you years ago but to him. I lost it. I had already hurt you and I know that if I can't control my powers I can kill a lot of people. I don't want that to be Steve... and I don't want that to be you. That's why I didn't come here. I didn't ask for help because I was so scared I would hurt you again. I c-can't... I don't know what I would do if you and Steve were out of my life. I thought by leaving you two would be safe... safe from me. Tone I love you and I don't want anything to happen to you. I already lost Howard... I can't lose you too."

Tony looks down not letting Sammie see the tears that had collected in his eyes. He quickly gets up and walks around the table then pulls Sammie into a hug and kisses her head.

"I love you too Dylann... you're not losing me. Not today, not ever."

"Is the coast clear?"

Tony and Sammie look up from the suit they were fixing together to see Pepper and Steve standing at the door.

"Yeah come on in." Sammie laughs waving her hand.

"Dylann!!!"

Pepper runs over to Sammie with a gigantic smile on her face.

"What?!" Sammie asks in confusion holding her fast beating heart.

"Your hand!! What is that?! Did he- did you?!"

Pepper grabs Sammie's hand and looks at the ring on her finger in awe.

"Ohhh yes and yes." Sammie smiles.

"You said yes?! Oh my gosh did you know Tony?!"

The girls look over at Tony who had been smiling looking at the two most important women in his life.

"Yes I knew Pepper. He asked for my blessing a while ago actually. Like after the New York incident calmed down."

Pepper frowns, "Wait how come I didn't know?"

Tony smirks, "Because you would've blabbed with your big mouth. You tell everyone everything."

Pepper gasps in shock, "I do not!"

Sammie clears her throat, "Um actually yes you do. Remember I asked you to keep Rodey's birthday party a secret. You asked him what kind of cake he liked... and if he could invite anyone to his surprise party who would he."

"Oh yeah..." Pepper sighs, "Oh whatever! I'm so happy for you!! We have so much to plan!!"

Pepper grabs Sammie's arm and pulls her towards the door. Sammie turns for a quick second looking at the two men and shrugs then follows Pepper up the stairs.

"She is something." Steve says smiling.

"Yep." Tony nods then gets back to work.
