Plane Ticket

Anxiously, you tapped your foot against the scuffed floor with your eyes read over your past messages. Your fingers were shaking to the point it became to difficult to even swipe. Your heart beated against your chest like an excited drummer in a rock band. You were excited, yet nervous. You never felt so alive. You had to pinch yourself to be sure you were actually doing this. "Breathe, breathe..breathe Y/n breathe.." You repeated to yourself. Everything was fine, you were fine. It was all going to be fine.

"Now boarding first class, I repeat now boarding first class." A woman's assertive voice spoke through the mic. You jumped up from your seat and quickly grabbed hold of your things and rushed to front, eager to hurry into the plane. Quickly, you showed your ID and passport before being allowed in, and taken to your seat. "Here you are Mrs. Rogers-" "It's Iris." Your corrected. "I-I'm sorry?" The woman asked. "It's Iris. Y/n Iris." You told with a confident smile. The woman blushed in embarrassment with a smile. "My apologies, here is your seat, Miss Iris." She said.

You would give her a smile before and a soft thank you before taking your seat by the window. You watched as walked off to attend another passenger. You looked out the window, see the black road and luggage being carried off into the back of the plane. "This is really happening. Its really happening." You said to yourself. "What is really happening?" A soft voice asked you. You jumped in surprise to see an old man, just as startled as you. "Oh, I didn't mean to scare ya' I'm sorry dear." He said, with his voice as smooth as chocolate.

"Oh, no, no, I'm so excited to finally be on my own to feet. Finally on my own, you know?" You said to the man. "Oh, I feel ya' there. I remember when I was young like you, feeling as free as bird when I was on my own. Still am, just got me a wife and four little grandchildren running around." He chuckled. You would giggle and give him a nod. "When I'm as old as you are, I still want to have that free feeling." You said with a soft sigh as your relaxed into your seat. "Trust me, you're gonna love it, now, an old man like me got books waiting for me, and my completed family. A young woman like you has the world." He told.

"Waiting for me, is my oldest brother, my bright niece, and business that's ready to have their boss back. There was nothing waiting for me here." You said in bittersweet tone, that mild-surprise to the old man's wrinkled face. "Well, always know that world is open for you." He told you. "I will, trust me. I'll travel if I have to." You said, brining the old man to chuckle. "But, before we take off, I'll ask again. What's really happening?" He asked you, as he pushed up his glasses.

You would give a soft chuckle and turned your head to him, with a smile forming from your lips. You stared in the hazel green eyes of the old man, that went on for years and years with memories that were forever marked in his brain. You saw the genuine smile on his face, one only a loving grandfather could have. Telling him would open you on the spot, but that's what being free was for you. Life has chained you down, before you broke them and ran for it, not letting them catch up. Your smile grew wider at the ought of your answer.

"I finally left my ex-husband."

"Miss Iris?" The man asked, as he held the sign with your name on it close to his chest. "Did Grey say to be formal? Call me Y/n, we're only driving for few hours." You told the driver, seeing a smile come to his face before immediately going blank. "I'm only following my instructions miss, oh- allow me!" He said as he scrambled to get your luggage. You giggled as you watched the blonde carry your thing to the trunk of the SUV with flushed face. Once he returned to you, he opened the back door, forwarding you in. "Thanks blondie." You said as you pulled yourself into the car. "Y-You're welcome." He said before closing your door and hurrying to the drivers seat.

With no words being said, he drove as you stared out the window, watching as the airport faded from families reuniting or families separating to tall palm trees with cars passing by. "Blondie, was Grey strict with you? I want you to know he isn't usually like that." You said. "Oh, no ma'am, he wasn't. Just my boss is just y-you know. Your brother was very kind." He told you, not hearing the lie slip from his tongue. You couldn't be harsh on the poor kid, so you went along with it as your turned your gaze back to the window. "Still the same man I see Grey.."

"Thanks blondie, sorry I know your name is Micheal but blondie is all I'm gonna remember." You giggled. "Oh its no worries miss, blondie is fine. I'll be off now, take care." He said, briefly shaking your hand before getting into the drivers seat. "You too, see you around." You said, waving him off with a grin. Micheal would waved to you with his own smile, flashing his sliver braces that shined in the bright sun. You watched him drive off until the the SUV was no more. "Well, its time." You huffed as you turned around to face the house, with your hands on your hips and proud smile on your face.

((This is your home with Greyson.))

Memories passed you like flashing lights in club. "I'm ready to take you on now! You're gonna be sorry you messed with Y/n Iris!" You yelled, into the air, not caring about the attention you could've got, which luckily didn't happen. You huffed a chuckle as you grabbed hold your things and walked your way to the door.

"Woah, Greyson calm down and breathe for a second. Your running on coffee and six hours of sleep." Tord said to the panicked man as held him by his shoulders. "Right, your right. My god what is wrong with me. She'll like it regardless..but what if she doesn't? What if she-" "Hey, enough of that, none of us know who your talking about, calm down and try to talk to us, one word at time." Tord said to him. Greyson nodded as he in shaky breaths and smooth exhales.

His four roommates stared at him worried. Was Clara coming over to start a fit? Was Jasmine coming for a surprise sleepover again? Or did he invite a girl over? The four had no idea what he could be stressing over, but they didn't need him to explain to them. Because the reason was already at the door.

Ding Dong.

"She's here." Greyson stated. "Who's here?" Tom asked. "She's here, oh god she actually came! Oh god..she actually came! Stay calm, stay calm, stay calm!" Greyson repeated as he gripped his shirt, taking the worry of the others. "Its fine, its fine. I don't need it." Greyson said in a steady voice as he fixed his posture and fixed his shirt. "I'm fine, I'm ready." He said, taking Tord's hands off from his shoulders.

"But for-" Edd didn't finish his question because Greyson was already off to answer the door. His legs moved on their own will as the smile of excitement was true on his face. Finally, as so many dreadful years, it could all end. Every piece in his puzzle was falling into place. With no second to spare, he unlocked the door and opened it, the light from the sun shining through. There she was. She was finally home.

"Y/n!!"
