Iris Coffee

"Auntie Y/NNNNNNN!" The little pig-tailed girl squealed as she jumped from the arms of her mother to her aunt who stood proudly ahead of her, with her arms out and smile as wide as ever. "Jasmine!" She cheered as the little girl jumped into her aunt's arms. "Heya sweetie missed you!" You said, kissing her temple as she giggled. "I missed you too! Oh, and mommy brought you something too! I wrapped it for you!" She told you just as Jennette, Greyson's ex-wife approached you with a smile with a small pink bag. "Hey girl, missed ya." She said, offering you a fist bump.

You hoisted the little girl in your other arm to fist-bump her. "Same with you, but I'm glad to be back." You grinned. Greyson and Jennette were a young couple, that of course were in love when they first started, but furthermore, into their marriage and the bringing of their daughter, they fell out of love. They weren't horrible with one another, just very understanding. Co-partnering is easy for them since there is no bad blood between them and remain good friends. It was obvious they were much happier this way.

"Same here, she nearly screamed my head off when you weren't here." Jeanette sighed, resting her arm on your shoulder as you chuckled. "Did not!" Jasmine whined. "Did too!" Jeanette teased. "Alright, you two simmer down." You grinned tapping the button of Jasmine's nose as she giggled. "Jazzy!" Matt called as he skipped over to us, exciting the four-year-old once again. "Mat-Mat!" She said, reaching for the tall ginger, gladly being handed over to him. "Oh don't you look like the belle of the ball!" Matt complimented. "Thank you, Grammy made it for me!" She told.

"Ah, shhhiii-oot! That was it!" You said with sudden realization as you held your forehead with a scrunched face of frustration. "What was what?" Jennette asked. "Can't talk about it in front Jaz." You whispered. "Well, I have time and could use the free coffee," Jennette said with shrug. "You try at any moment huh?" You grinned as you walked to the kitchen to get the pot up and running again. "You know it!" She said. "Matt, want anything?" You hollered.

"I'm good on coffee, but thank you!" He said as he hoisted Jasmine onto his shoulders. You nodded and went ahead to prepare two cups of coffee. When done, you and Jennette chose to talk out on the patio. "Alright, lay it on me sister. What's the problem?" She asked, taking a swing from her mug. "I haven't told my parents about me leaving David." You blurted, seeing how she nearly choked from your words. "Oh, don't react like that!" You whined. "Well, shit Y/n, you'd think the first people you'd tell would be your family, let alone your parents," Jennette replied, leaving you with no witty comeback.

"Ugh, I knooow...what do I do? They were SO excited too! God forbid my dad does that basic father shit when he automatically wants to kick ass." You groaned, remembering how aggressive and stubborn your father could be. "Well, shit man. What'd you expect from him? I'd wanna do that too." She said. "Yeah, I would too." You agreed, getting you both to laugh. "But what's stopping you then? You said you're over him, right?" She asked. "Beyond over him. Moon over him." You told her.
"So what's the stress?" She asked, this time arching a brow.

"I don't know? Disappointment? Like don't get me wrong, marriage is cute and all, and I do plan for it, cause just- UGH! I don't know!" You groaned, placing your cup on the table to slouch back in your chair with your legs overlapping the armrest. "Are you trying to say you married him, cause that's what your parents wanted?" She asked. "When you put it that way..like..- Don't get me wrong, I truly did love and care for him before he changed." You started.

"Then again, I met him through some colleagues of my dad when I was first starting my business. It all felt so pressured and rushed. Everyone was saying, "He's a nice young man.", "He'd be great for you.", "You two would be a lovely couple." Taught me a lesson that not all blue collard dudes are cool." You huffed. "I hear you there. Even though I can't relate, being that I married another man, but I get what you about rush and pressure. Barley lets you sit down and think things over, then again I was no saint during that either." She shrugged.

"I appreciate you and your honesty Jen." You said with a slight smile. "It's not going anywhere. But you gotta tell your parents, of all people, they should be the most understanding." She said. "I hope so." You sighed. Even though you managed to tell another person, the feeling of devastation lingered. You brushed it off and talked with Jennette with the little time you had with her before she finally had to head off to work.

"Bye, mommy!" Jasmine yelled to her. "Bye sweetie, see you next week!" Jennette waved as hopped into her car. You wall waved her goodbye as she drove before heading back inside. "Well, what's happening today fellas?" You asked the group. "Well, I'm taking the building for the next three days," Greyson said as he threw on his jacket. "And you are appreciated for that." You said. "I know." He replied, getting a quick laugh from you all.

"I gotta head into work, I'll be back same time as usual," Tord told. "Mhm, Matt?" You asked. "Well, after signing with you and Grey, I have few pictures to take for today!" He beamed. "Right, meaning we have to carpool," Greyson told, looking at how Matt was still in pajamas. "Right, I'll be back in an hour!" Matt told as he rushed upstairs. "An hour- I'm leaving in thirty!" Greyson hollered."You won't!" Matt yelled back. "He's got you there Grey, you couldn't leave us like that." Edd chuckled.

"Yeah man, you're like a dad, faking threats he doesn't live out," Tom told. "Like a dad." You quoted. "Classic stupid Tom." Tord teased with a grin, getting an "eye" roll from the brunette. "You all knew what I meant." He huffed. "We did man, we did. I'm just meeting with a friend, I'd probably be back this afternoon?" Edd shrugged. "And I'm off for the day, so I guess I'm helping you with Jasmine," Tom said. "Like you weren't anyway. How can we have a tea party without a bard?" You said, gently nudging Tom in his side, bringing him to chuckle.

"Well, since most of us plan to be home late, any dinner plans?" Greyson asked. "How about some hamburger helpers? We've only been eating takeout this week." You suggested. They all agreed with it, and once Matt came down, the plan was settled. "BYE!!" You and Jasmine yelled to the four as they drove off for the day. "You ever think our neighbors find us weird for being happy with our roommates?" Tom asked you as walked back inside with Jasmine skipping at your side.

"We get along well, 'cause we're cool." You grinned. "Ain't that right Jazzy?" You questioned, getting a nod from four years old. "Mhm! Super cool!" She beamed. "Heck yeah, why don't you watch some cartoons, I gotta make myself something to eat." You told her, ruffling her hair before heading to the kitchen. "Okay!" She said as she skipped her way to the living to watch what she pleased, whilst Tom stalked you to the kitchen.

"Yes, Tom?"  You asked. "Can I not walk into a kitchen?" He asked. "Of course, you can, I just know that you can't cook for shit, and I know you're here to ask me for something." You grinned, hearing the brunette chuckle as he leaned against the kitchen island, with his arms crossed over his chest. "Caught me red-handed, Miss Iris. Dark coffee and whatever you're making will do." He grinned. You rolled your eyes and chuckled before getting a pot running. "Might as well open my own  coffee business too, at this point." You said.

"Iris Coffee. Nice ring to it."
