Episode 1: Under Pressure

     Adalynn climbed out of the firetruck her eyes landing on a young man rushing down the cement stairs before them "Quick, they're in the back! We put a tube in so he could breath. I think the cement smushed it"

Adalynn's face contorts in disbelief as she shook her head "idiots" she uttered under her breath.

"What is it, a YouTube prank?" Chimney questions as the team pick up their speed and head up the stairs.

Mitch looked to him "Don't judge. Followers equal cash"

Adalynn jogged up the steps and into the backyard her eyes landing on the man with a microwave over his head a blonde man helping to hold it upright "Oh, I'm judging" she comments.

"What's his name?" Bobby questions the man.

"Jesse" Mitch answers "Jesse this is captain Nash, LAFD. Can you hear me?" Bobby spoke, his voice loud so Jesse could hear.

After no response Bobby speaks again "Alright he is totally cut off in this thing, let's get some screwdrivers, try to get this frame off"

One of the other team members brings over the bag with the tools in it Adalynn pulled out the drill checking the screws making sure she attached the right drill bit before she began to unscrew the screws.

"Hen what you got?" Bobby asks her.

Hen glances at him as she responds "Pulse 120, BP 150 over 110"

Jesse moved abruptly causing Adalynn to stop her movements her gaze shifting to her captain "He's starting to panic"

Bobby watched closely as Hen spoke "Saliva's probably aspirated through the breathing tube-"

Jesse shot up from the chair the team immediately trying to stop him and to sit him down once again. Adalynn's eyes widen as Jesse's foot fell off the pavement and into the pool  before him, Adalynn's own hands slipping off the microwave as Jesse fell down into the water, sinking quickly from the cement around his head.

Buck swiftly dove into the water Eddie following as the try to lift Jesse back up onto the surface. The two resurface the water as the pull Jesse towards the edge of the pool.

Adalynn crouched down reaching out towards them as she helped set Jesse onto the ground. Hen quickly placing the stethoscope onto his chest.

"Pulse is weak" Eddie states as Hen shakes her head "I have no respiration"

"is there a plastic bag in there or something?" Chimney questions his gaze falling onto the blonde and the brunette who were watching in concern for their friend, though Adalynn would find it har to believe they're actually friends.

"Yeah we put it on his head before we poured the concrete" The blonde answered his voice shaky "Please don't let him die, he's my best friend since kindergarten"

Adalynn scoffed lightly as she tilts her head "He better invest in some new friends"

Chim presses his lips together as he shakes his head "I can't get in there"

"We had thirty minuets to get him out of there, now we have thirty seconds" Bobby announces as Adalynn grabs the drill and continues to unscrew the screws.

"No response to sternal rub" Chimney states as he stands.

Hen looks to Bobby "Pulse is fading. Still no respiration"

Bobby nods "Alright, Buck, once we get this frame off you and I are gonna go hammer and chisel on that block"

"Starting compressions!" Chimney shouts.

Adalynn got the final screw out as she quickly sets down the drill and begins to pull the frame off, Buck helping.

Bobby grabs the chisel and hammer "Alright Buck, I'm hammer you're chisel"

Buck looks at him "I got this" Bobby nods as Buck takes the hammer instead and Bobby placing the chisel on the cement block. Buck takes a breath before slamming the hammer down on the chisel, repeating his movements twice more before the cement block finally cracks. Adalynn eyeing the man.

Bobby pulls the chisel out as Adalynn quickly crouched down pulling the pieces of cement off the mans face. Bobby pulls off the plastic bag taking the tube out of Jesse's mouth as he did, Hen immediately placed the Ambu bag over the mans nose and mouth pumping air into his lungs while Chimney continued compressions.

Adalynn watched intently as she waited for some sign that Jesse was going to pull through until finally he quickly shoots up from the ground coughing.

The girls attention quickly shifts away from Jesse to his friends. A look covering her face and in the best way she could describe it as almost disgust, confusion, and slight anger.

"Shay Reed here, fans. And today's Shay-nanigan is maybe out most intense yet!" The blonde says in almost excitement, not like his friend almost died just ten seconds ago.

"Are you filming this?" Bobby snaps at the two.

Shay nods "Yeah, bro. If we didn't film it, it didn't happen" he answered like it was obvious.

Adalynn tilts her head "you're awfully cheery considering you were just crying after almost killing you friend "

Buck nods in agreement "yeah, you were crying like, two minuets ago"

Shay bunches his shoulders looking at the pair of firefighters "yeah, two minuets ago, he was going to die, now he's gonna live and be a legend!"

Adalynn's brows cinch together "hopefully find some new friends" she mumbles.

"Say hello to Shay's army!" he turns the camera onto the firefighters

"Hello Shay's army" Bobby says as he grabs the phone out of the man's hand before tossing it into the pool.

Adalynn's eyes widen, She's never even seen Bobby that angry before- though she's just joined the team but she never really pictured Bobby to be an angry man.

"You know, I never thought I'd see Cap get that angry" Adalynn states as she takes a seat at the dining table. She tilts her head "Although, I never thought I'd see a call that stupid and anyone willing to put their head in cement, so"

Eddie chuckles as he looks at her "You're telling me that's the most stupid call you've gone on?"

Adalynn's eyes widen as she shakes her head "God no, there was this one guy who thought it was a good idea to-"

she pauses glancing at Christopher as she covers his ears "Pretending to be Santa" she whispered before leaning back in her seat "thought it'd be a good idea to try and literally go down his chimney to surprise his kids"

She takes a bite of her food as she shrugs "The thought was nice, the execution not so much"

Eddie frowned before he laughed lightly "Think their will be calls like that here?"

Adalynn takes a breath "I hope not, cause it was a bi-" she paused glancing at her nephew "A bugger " She corrects herself before continuing "trying to get him out of there considering he got stuck half way"

Eddie tilts his head "you know, from the time I was serving to when I came back you really grew a potty mouth"

Adalynn scoffs lightly "Oh okay, Eddie. At least I know my surroundings and don't say anything in front of my favourite nephew, besides I do not have a potty mouth" she quirks her brow at him.

"Really?" Eddie retorts causing Adalynn to hum in response "Yep"

Christophers laugh gains the pairs attention as a smirk falls on Adalynn's face as she glances to Eddie.

Adalynn leans on the table as she speaks "Chris, who do you think is right? Me, your favourite aunt" she says with enthusiasm in her voice before dropping her face slightly "or your dad?" she subtly points in Eddie's direction with an almost look of disgust for a moment.

Christopher is silent for a moment as he looks between her and Eddie. Adalynn leans forwards as she whispers "I'll buy you a new game after my shift tomorrow"

Christopher's eyes light up as he looks to Eddie "Aunty Ads is right"

A triumphant smile falls on the girls face as she leans back into her seat holding her arms out "Told you"

Eddie rolls his eyes "Okay, sure, you used bribery on my son" he shrugs as he motions towards her "you cheated"

"It's not bribery if he loves me" Adalynn quickly retorts as she points at her brother "And I couldn't have cheated it was a question"

"yeah totally" Eddie said sarcasm laced in his tone causing Adalynn's eyes to narrow ever so slightly at her brother.

She crosses her arms "I bet you 50 bucks in a pool game tomorrow, on shift, and if I win I'm right"

Eddie pauses for a moment as he ponders on the offer at hand. Adalynn's brows raise "What, scared you're gonna lose to your little sister?"

Eddie scoffs lightly "please, you're on, but I'm doubling the price 100 bucks and if I win I'm right and you have to do all the chores around the house for three weeks"

Adalynn frowns as she holds her arms out "Fine, if we're raising the price why not 150? And adding on to if I win you have to put the safety deposit down on my apartment when I find one and help me move all my stuff in and unpack everything that is currently sitting in a storage locker"

"Deal" Eddie answers as Adalynn takes a bite of her food as she hums "Prepare to lose Edmundo Diaz" a cocky expression covering her features.

"Yes!" Adalynn shouts as she throughs her arms in the air tossing the pool que onto the table "I win! I won!" she shoves Eddie's shoulder as he rolls his eyes.

Adalynn claps her hands together as she laughs lightly before holding her hand out "pay up Edmundo"

Eddie lets out a frustrated sigh as he pulls out his wallet before setting the cash in her hand "you got lucky"

Adalynn rolls her eyes "Pfft, please. You wish you were as good as me at pool" She shoves the cash into her pocket "I'll uh, let you know when I need that safety deposit"

"Mhm" Eddie just hums in response

Buck looks between the pair with furrowed brows "Do you two need a minute?"

A wide smile falls on Adalynn's face as she wraps her arm over Bucks shoulder "not at all, Eddie is just mad he lost a bet and 150 dollars to his little sister"

Buck laughs lightly "150 dollars?" he questions Adalynn sucks in a breath "what can I say, the Diaz's are very competitive"

"She's a little extra competitive" Eddie comments, causing the girl to roll her eyes "Fine you want a rematch? I'll kick your ass once again, plus I'll be up 300 bucks"

Eddie just waved her off as he walked over to the pinball machine. Buck claps his hands together "Uh, okay, well I've been thinking of some nicknames for the two of you"

Buck walks towards Eddie "Alright so for you, what about G.I"

Adalynn chuckles "like G.I Joe?" Buck motions to her "exactly! Like 'Ey, G.I. That's a great nickname"

"Sounds like gastrointestinal" Hen comment's causing Adalynn to snicker as she leans on the pinball machine.

Eddie sucks in a breath as he shakes his head "Yeah. . I don't think so"

"Alright everybody listen up, I've got an announcement to make" Bobby states as he walks up the stairs "I just got off the phone with the people from the calendar and they have made their choice"

"Well, no hard feelings, no matter who won" Buck says with a smile as he and Eddie fist-bump.

"Getting a little cocky there, Buck" Adalynn utters just loud enough for him to hear, Buck rolls his eyes at the girl before their attention turns back to Bobby.

Bobby frowns before nodding "That's good Buck 'Cause they didn't pick you"

Adalynn couldn't help the laugh that left her lips as she squeezes Bucks shoulder "You were so confident you were gonna win" she could barley finish the sentence without laughing once again.

Buck shrugs "well, It's obviously a fix, Nah, congratulations anyway, G.I!" Buck claps loudly causing Eddie to chuckle.

Bobby shakes his head "they didn't pick him either"

Adalynn bites on her lip trying to hold back her laughter which ultimately failed "Better luck next year, boys"

her gaze lands onto Bobby "so did they pick you?"

"No" Bobby answers before looking towards Chimney who was taking a bite of celery dipped in peanut butter

Chimney's eyes widen as he looks behind him before looking at Bobby "no way, you've got to be kidding me?" his words muffled from the food in his mouth.

Bobby smiles "No, Congratulations Chim or should I say, Mr. April"

Adalynn whistles loudly as she begins to clap her hands along with Eddie and Buck.

Chimney holds his hands out "no way, are you serious?!" he asks in disbelief.

Adalynn jogs over to Chimney as she gives him a tight side hug "Congrats Chim, I knew you'd beat them out of the park!"

"You're a calendar boy now, Mr. April buddy" Bobby gives him a high five.

"30 days of Chimney" Eddie comments as Hen walks over to the table "You did it"

Chimney smiles "Thank you"

the groups attention gets diverted as Athena spoke "I hope I'm not interrupting anything" Athena says as she walks towards them Bobby meeting her halfway.

Athena takes a breath placing her hand on his arm "Hey, I'm sorry" she says before reaching up and pulling Bobby in for a kiss.

Adalynn's eyes widen as her mouth falls open slightly. She had only met Athena one other time when Hen had invited her out to join her and Athena for drinks but to be fair she doesn't really remember much from that night considering she was drunk out of her mind.

Chimney holds his hands up "Woah, woah, woah"

after a moment or two Bobby turns to the five who were all staring with wide eyes "what are you all looking at? there's no more announcements"

A smirk falls on Hen's face as she turns around holding her hands out "Pay up"

Adalynn laughs as Buck and Chimney groan "Wait a minute, wait a minute, you knew?" Bobby questions with furrowed brows.

Hen turns back around as she lightly scoffs "Sir, first you two were happy at the same time, then you were both pissed off at the same time. It wasn't hard to figure out"

"And you're okay with this?" Athena asked her friend Hen just kept the smile on her face "Girl, I'm just mad at myself for not fixing you up in the first place"

Adalynn smiles and rounds the counter making her way towards Athena "It's great to see you again, Athena" she spoke with a smile.

Athena smiles back at her "it's great to see you sober, even though you did crack me up a few times that night"

Adalynn snaps her fingers as she nods "you got me there" she chuckles before sitting down on the couch.

Buck takes a seat beside her swinging his legs onto her lap which she was quick to shove off giving him a look before the two chuckle lightly.

Adalynn smiled, her eyes landing on Hen and Athena sitting at a table "surprised you guys invited me out again" she states with an almost nervous laugh while taking a seat, joining the two.

Hen chuckled "Please, you were the most amusing thing that night, especially when you started karaoke"

Adalynn laughed lightly with a nod, before a more serious look covered her face "Hey do you guys know any cheap apartments for rent that are close to the fire house? Eddie's couch is killing my back"

"Girl, you've been sleeping on a couch?" Hen question, with slight disbelief.

She bunches her shoulders "well, I kind of just packed up my life and left Texas with Eddie. Didn't have the time to find a place" she explains taking a chip from the basket in front of her.

Athena looks to her with furrowed brows "So you just came because you're brother did?"

Adalynn tilted her head back and forth "Kind of, there was other things and I just really needed a new start" she inhales sharply "And every place close to the fire house is extremely expensive in rent, so i'd need a roommate but I'm too scared they'll be a serial killer"

Hen and Athena share a look before laughing, Adalynn looked between them with wide eyes "Please, it's a completely rational fear, I'm too young to die!"

"And yet you chose to be a firefighter" Hen adds. Adalynn looked like she was about to say something but no words came out "Okay, fair point"

Athena takes a breath before humming and pointing at the Diaz girl "Oh, there's this new Rookie down at the station, she's been complaining about living with her mother so, when the time comes and if you need a roommate still I could talk to her for you"

Adalynn lets out a relieved sigh "Yes, that would be amazing" she shakes her head taking a breath with a smile "Okay, I need a drink" she exclaims causing the two older women to laugh.
