Children begin arriving to the high school in costume, ready to be taken trick-or-treating. Inside a hall by the stairs, Buffy is standing holding a clipboard, waiting for her charges.

A minute later, Snyder shows up and hands them to her, "This is your group, Summers. No need to speak to them. The last thing they need is your influence. Just bring them back in one piece and I won't expel you."

Buffy raises an eyebrow watching the man begin to walk away. She bends down to the kids with a smile, "Hi..."

"Ah, ah!" Snyder yells as he continues to walk.

Buffy straightens back up and rolls her eyes.

In the lobby area, Xander in his soldier outfit. Larry comes over dressed as a pirate.

"Where's your bodyguard, Harris? Curling her hair?"

He jumps at Xander, making him flinch. He laughs and walks away as Xander points his r*fle at him, but then dismisses him.

Oz stands checking his guitar out at his locker just as Cordelia comes into the hall. She was wearing a tight-fitting catsuit.

"Oz. Oz. Oz."

Oz smiles, "Hey, Cordelia. Jeez, you're like a great big cat."

Cordelia nods, "It's my costume. Are you guys playing tonight?"

"Yeah, but at the Shelter Club. Since Colby and Laney couldn't be there tonight."

"Is Mr. I'm-the-lead-singer-I'm-so-great-I-don't-have-to-show- up-for-my-date-or-even-call gonna be there?"

Oz chuckles, "Yeah, y'know, he's just going by 'Devon' now."

Cordelia frowns, "Well, you can tell him that I don't care, and that I didn't even mention it. And that I didn't even see you. So that's just fine."

Oz stares at her in confusion, "So, what do I tell him?"

Cordelia scoffs beginning to walk away, "Nothing! Jeez! Get with the program."

Oz smiles sarcastically as he chuckles to himself, "Why can't I meet a nice girl like that?"

Willow comes down the hall in her ghost sheet. Oz turns around and bumps right into her.

"Oh! I'm sorry."

Willow shakes her head, "Sorry."

"I'm sorry."

"Sorry."

"Sorry."

Oz and Willow continue down the hall on their separate ways. After turning two more corners, Willow then runs into Laney and Colby. Laney frowns shaking her head as she looks at Willow's ghost costume.

"Oh Willow..."

"What?" Willow frowns in confusion under the sheet.

"I can forgive and forget that horrendous costume, those bulky boots... but Willow... pastels?"

Willow rolls her eyes chuckling, "Seems like you've got your costume down."

Colby nods holding Laney's hand as he brings it to his lips to kiss, "Cara mia is in character, she will only refer to herself as Morticia Addams... isn't that right tish."

"Oh Gomez what would I do without you?"

"It is I that would be lost without you."

Willow smiles, "You two are perfect. Where's your kids?"

Laney smiles nodding her head towards Xander who was walking over with a group of five kids.

"We decided to be a group, well duo since Colby doesn't go to school here. But that way it'd be easier to keep up with the kids."

Willow pouts, "Aw why didn't I think of that?"

Laney laughs as her sister playfully yet sluggishly walks out of sight.

"Xander Harris reporting for duty." Xander states as he looks at Laney with a blank face, "They're all yours boss lady."

"Hmm... Look at all the children... their freckles, their bright little eyes, their eager friendly smiles..." Laney side glances over at Colby who has a fake cigar in his mouth, "Help them."

One of the older kids of the group laughs as the younger kids look at Laney's dress in awe.

A young blonde girl totters over to her, "Are you a princess?"

Laney gasps dramatically staring down the small girl, "Oh darling no. Princesses are far overrated. Have you heard of Calpurnia Addams? She was an amazing witch-"

Xander chuckles interrupting Laney, "Now now Laney I don't think talking to the five year old about witches is a good idea."

"It's not like I was going to mention her being burned at the-"

Colby covers Laney's mouth smiling, "Tish my darling... there is a baby present."

Laney gasps looking down at the group. One of the older kids was holding what looked like a ten month old baby. Immmediatly awwing, Laney bends down and grabs the baby.

"Well you are just a scary sight."

The baby was wearing a Jack Skeleton costume with white paint on his face.

"That my brother."

Laney glances down at the blonde toddler who called her a princess, "Is that so? What's your name, love?"

"Coraline. And he is Liam."

"Well you two are just the best thing to come out of tonight. I adore your costume, sweetheart. Isn't it lovely, darling?"

Colby nods looking down at the girl, "Quite."

The little girl was wearing a poncho like costume that was a spiderweb with a fake spider was on her shoulder.

Cora smiles, "Thank you."

"These little monsters are mine." Laney smiles then looks to Xander who was smiling shaking his head.

He nods then stand up straight with a blank face, "Attention... file a line maggots."

The kids all giggle and stand in line. Coraline runs over to Colby and grabs his hand. He smiles down at the girl and then glances over at Laney who was playing with a giggling baby Liam.

Thousands of thoughts was running in his mind. His girlfriend was the sweetest person, the most unselfish human being. She was gorgeous. She had a heart of gold. She was incredibly intelligent. And now he knew she would be a great mom. He could see a future with Laney. And that made him excited about what was to come.

Xander walks around the line of kids with his arms at his side, "Okay, on sleazing extra candy: tears are key. Tears will normally get you the double-bagger. You can also try the old 'you missed me' routine, but it's risky. Only go there for chocolate. Understood?"

They all nod their heads.

"Okay, troops. Ready boss lady?"

Laney giggles nodding. He turns and faces down the hall with the kids, Laney, and Colby following his lead.

"Let's move out."

As it begins to get dark, more kids are out trick or treating. A student dressed as a vampire is escorting a group of kids as they walk by Buffy's group coming back from a house. Buffy crouches down to see what they got.

"What did Mrs. Davis give you?"

They all pull out toothbrushes.

Buffy grimaces, "She must be stopped. Let's hit one more house." She gets up and looks around, "We still have a few more minutes before I need to get you back."

Colby, Laney, and Xander lead their group to Ms Margret's house as Xander tells them their trick to get candy once again.

"Alright I wanna see pouty faces. Remember there's more candy for tears in your eyes. Look sweet and innocent."

"What a tragedy... if it were I, I would give candy to the naug-"

Xander points at Laney frowning, "No..."

Laney pouts looking over at Colby who was holding Coraline, "Mon Cher..."

"I know Cara mia... He's no fun." Colby stated before replying sarcastically, "How bizarre."

"Alright you two are long past gone. Enough method acting."

Coraline giggles making Laney smile and wink at her. As the kids group up and stand in front of the door, Xander pushes the doorbell. Ms Margaret opens the door and gasps smiling down at the kids in their adorable costumes.

"You all are too precious for words, why, I could just... eat you alive!"

Laney gasps playfully, "Oh no, Ms Margaret! Too young!"

Willow follows Xander and Laney's group to Ms Margret's porch. She stands beside her kids as the other group begins to leave.

One of the kids wearing a green monster mask on his head, he pulls it down over his face.

"Trick-or-treat!"

The older lady grins looking at the new group of children, "Oh, my goodness, aren't you adorable!"

A couple more houses down, Buffy frowns as the wind begins to blow harshly. She senses something isn't quite right.

The older lady looks into her empty candy bucket frowning, "Oh, dear! Am I all out? I could've sworn I had more candy."

The kid wearing a red rubber cap with horns morphs into a horned, red skinned monster.

"I'm sorry, mister monster." She bends down, "Maybe I..."

The kid with the green mask has changed into a monster also, and grabs the lady by the neck and begins to choke her. The other kids scream and run away.

"No! Let her go!"

The red monster attacks the green one, and he lets go of the lady. The two monsters are at each other's throats.

"Stop! What're you doing?!"

The lady runs into the house and slams the door shut as Laney turns to the two monsters and smiles.

"Mon Cher isn't this just lovely?"

"Cara mia it is quite a delight."

Willow starts to suddenly feel week as she sways, "Stop! Hey!"

In the street, Xander is standing there watching all the parents and children running around him. Things are being thrown and windows are being broken.

As Laney and Colby stand side by side, her head on his shoulder, both watching the chaos in glee, Coraline looks over at what used to be a wig on Laney's head. Her hands slowly reach for Laney wanting to play with her hair. Laney smiles and gives Colby the baby before picking up Coraline.

"Shall we go for a walk darling?"

"Why of course, tish."

Nearby Willow staggers a bit as the two monsters keep fighting.

"Ohmigod! Can't breathe..."

She collapses to the floor as Xander jerks back like he's just been hit by something. He bends over slightly, looks down and lowers his toy rifle. Slowly he straightens back up and surveys the scene around him. He raises his rifle again and cradles the fully automatic M-16 in his hands.

He shoulders the weapon and spins around, scanning for a target. When he doesn't immediately find one, he takes the rifle from his shoulder and holds it ready.

After a minute, Willow gets up out of her body and looks down at it. She's only wearing her sexy outfit now without the sheet.

"Ohmigod! I'm a real ghost!"

She hears automatic rifle fire and turns to look.

"Xander?"

She runs out into the street and comes up behind him.

"Xander!"

He spins around and points his M-16 at her.

"It's me, Willow!"

Xander frowns, "I don't know any Willow."

"Xander, quite messing around. This is no time for jokes."

"What the hell's going on here?"

Willow gasps lowly, "You don't know me?"

Xander lifts the r*fle away from her, "Lady, I suggest you find cover."

He starts walking past her but she gets in front of him.

"No, wait!"

Xander walks right through her. They're both surprised by the experience.

"Oh!"

Xander turns around and points his weapon at her again. She turns to face him.

"What are you?"

Willow frowns, "Xander, listen to me. I'm on your side, I swear! Something crazy is happening. I was dressed as a ghost for Halloween, a-and now I am a ghost. And you were supposed to be a soldier, and now I, I-I guess you're a real soldier."

Xander chuckles, "You expect me to believe that?"

A monster appears across the street, growling. Xander points his rifle at it. It runs away. Willow jumps in front of him.

"No! No gun! That's still a little kid in there!"

"Step out of the way!" Xander orders.

Willow shakes her head, "No gun! That's an order!"

He slowly lowers the rifle but quickly holds it back up, "I only take orders from the boss lady."

Willow's eyebrows furrow in confusion, "Boss lady?"

Xander nods pointing at Laney who seemed to be walking down the street with Colby and two kids.

Willow groans and starts to run over to them before turning around, grabbing Xander's arm, and bringing him with her.

"Laney!"

Willow hurries in-front of the two and tries to take deep breaths as she slowly begins to worry about the rest of the night. She only hoped first of all her own sister remembered her, but second of all that Buffy remembered her.

Laney frowns at the redhead in shorts and a crop top, "I'm sorry darling who are you looking for?"

Willow groans slapping her forehead, "No no no this can't be real."

"Apologies tish and I were about to sight see." Colby grins before kissing Laney's hand.

"We were going to see the cemetery. When we first met years ago, it was an evening much like this. Magic in the air... A boy."

Colby nods, as the two stare into one another's' eyes, "A girl."

"An open grave. It was my first funeral."

"You were so beautiful. Pale and mysterious. No one even looked at the corpse."

"Oh Gomez-"

"Enough! We don't have time for this!" Willow orders as she waves her hands frantically, "Alright, we just need to find..."

A second layer, Willow's eyes freeze on a certain blonde.

"Buffy!"

She runs across the street over to Buffy. Xander follows as Colby and Laney slowly trudge behind.

"Buffy! Are you okay?"

One of the monster kids is back with a friend, and they both roar as they approach. Xander shoulders his M-16 again and takes aim.

"This could be a situation."

Laney grins poking Coraline's side, "See my darling this man is holding what you call a deadly weapon. When you're old enough, maybe we can get you your very own."

Willow groans shaking her head, "Buffy, what do we do?"

Buffy look around at everyone and then faints and falls to the ground.

"Great..." Willow sighs.

A couple minutes later, Xander fires off a couple dozen rounds at the approaching monsters. They turn and run as Xander lowers his rifle.

"Buffy, are you alright?"

Buffy looks at Willow in confusion, "What?"

Xander frowns, "Are you hurt?"

Willow looks Buffy up and down searching for any injuries, "Buffy, are you hurt?"

Buffy sits up frowning before shaking her head. A disappointed sigh sounds from Colby

"Pity..."

Laney smiles, "Oh Gomez..."

Willow groans turning to Xander, probably the only person who was making sense to her.

"She's not Buffy."

Xander frowns, "Who's Buffy?"

"Well, this is fun." Turning to Buffy, Willow asks, "What year is this?"

Colby takes Buffy's hand and helps her up.

Laney holds her hand to her heart smiling, "My my my Gomez... if I didn't know any better I would think you were trying ti make me jealous."

Willow rolls her eyes, "What year Buffy?"

"1775, I believe." Buffy whispers confused and hyperventilating, "I-I don't understand. Who are you?"

Willow smiles, "We're friends."

"Darling girl, I would never be friends with a woman wearing that dreadful dress."

"Tish... play nice."

Buffy ignores the couple, "F-friends of whom? Y-your dress... Everything is strange! How did I come to be here?" Buffy then whispers glancing at Laney fearfully, "Is she a witch?"

Willow groans, "Breathe, okay, breathe. You're gonna faint again." Turning to Xander she frowns, "How are we supposed to get through this without the Slayer?"

"What's a Slayer?"

A monster comes around the tree behind Buffy and roars, fangs bared and claws raised to attack. Buffy screams and backs off. Xander jumps in and whacks the monster across the face with the butt of his rifle, knocking it down and out.

"Goodness me..."

"Careful tish."

Xander frowns looking around the neighborhood, "I suggest we get inside before we come across anything..."

Buffy begins screaming making Laney jump, "A DEMON! A DEMON!"

Buffy gets behind Xander and hides as Laney and Colby glance at one another.

"I wish."

"A DEMON!"

A sport utility vehicle comes driving down the street with its headlights on.

Willow's eyebrows furrow in confusion then she slaps her forehead and sighs, "That's not a demon. It's a car."

Buffy pouts peeking her head out from behind Xander, "What does it want?"

Xander raises an eyebrow, "Is this woman insane?"

"She's never seen a car."

"She's never seen a car?"

Willow nods at Xander, "She's from the past."

"And you're a ghost." Xander states trying to piece everything together.

"A ghost you say? How delightful."

Xander frowns looking at a gleaming Laney who smiles at the moon spinning in circles mumbling to herself about the beautiful night filled with monsters as the baby she holds sleeps on her chest. He then looks to Colby who was showing a young child what looked like a dart gun.

"Where did he get that?"

Willow frowns then gasps quickly grabbing the gun from Colby, "You do not give guns to children."

"Then what else would I give them?"

Willow groans, "Never mind it! Now can we please get inside."

Xander stands up straight and nods, "I just want you to know that I'm taking a lot on faith here. Where do we go?"

Willow thinks for a moment then nods, "Where's the closest... We can go to a friend's."

After a few minutes the group all stand in front of the Summers house. Xander opens the back door and scans the room, which happened to be the kitchen.

"All clear!"

Willow walks in, "Hello? Mrs. Summers?" She sighs in relief hearing no response, "Good, she's gone."

Xander stands at attention holding the door open, "It's all clear boss lady."

Laney almost dances inside then frowns looking around, "Hmm how homey... although I would prefer black walls."

Colby chuckles walking in behind her, "Anything for you Cara mia." He turns to Willow and frowns, "Where can I find black paint?"

Willow slaps her forehead, "You're not destroying this house."

"Pity... no fun all of you."

Xander closes the door after Buffy slowly pads inside, "Where are we?"

"Your place." Willow says walking into the dining room, "Now we just need to..."

There's a banging at the front door. Xander goes to investigate, and Willow and Buffy follow. Laney and Colby walk into the living room then sit on the couch. The two children were asleep on their chest as they sit side by side holding hands.

Willow grabs Xander's arm just as he walks to the door, "Don't open it!"

Xander frowns, "Ma'am this could be a civilian."

Willow shakes her head, "Or a mini demon."

"Oh! Then most definitely allow them access." Laney smiles.

Xander nods, "Are you sure boss lady?"

Willow groans, "No she's not sure." Turning to Laney, Willow frowns pointing at the kids, "You are with child... well children. You really think having demons in the house right now would be the best idea."

Laney pouts looking down at baby Liam drooling on her dress, "I suppose you're right. However when they are of age, it is their decision."

"Fine." Willow sighs exasperated.

Buffy notices a picture on a table and goes over to look. She picks it up, and sees it's of her wearing a spaghetti strap top. Willow, Xander, and Laney were also in the picture. She turns around as Willow comes over to her.

"This... this could be me."

"It is you. Buffy, can't you remember at all?"

Buffy pouts shaking her head, "No! I, I don't understand any of this! Uh, uh, th... This is some other girl!" She puts the picture back, "I would never wear this, that low apparel..."

"I thought it was quite nice." Colby says remembering the picture he glances over at when they walked into the house. He noticed his tish had looked exactly like a girl in the picture. But he didn't say anything. Doppelgängers were real so perhaps that was what was happening.

"You haven't talked about my apparel..."

Colby frowns as Laney pouts looking down at the baby. Quickly yet gently placing Coraline down on the couch, Colby picks up Liam and lays him down between two pillows on his back so he doesn't roll off the chair. He then grabs Laney's arm pulling her to stand up as he begins to kiss up her arm.

"My apologies Cara mia... I haven't told you how ravishing you look today."

Laney grins as he begins kissing her cheek and jawline, "Don't torture yourself, Gomez... that's my job."

Colby groans in delight putting his arm around Laney's waist pulling her closer, "Oh tish..."

"Oh Gomez..."

The two begin to make out disregarding Xander guarding the door, Willow trying to calm down Buffy, and Buffy beginning to cry looking around in fear.

"I don't like this place, and I don't like you, and I just wanna go home!"

"You are home!"

Buffy is practically in tears. Willow groans before turning back to Xander.

"She couldn't've dressed up like Xena?" Looking over at Laney and Colby who had almost been tearing one another's' clothes off, Willow clears her throat, "Can you two not swallow each other right now?"

The two pull apart, Laney wipes Colby's lips removing her red gloss, "I suppose."

Xander scans the outside through one of the small windows in the door. He moves away just as a monster punches through the glass and reaches for him. It pulls its hand back as Xander raises his M-16.

"Not a civilian!" Willow screams.

Xander nods, "Affirmative!"

He takes aims through the broken portal/ window.

Willow waves her hands frantically, "Hey! What did we say?!"

Xander lets loose a volley of bullets. Buffy bows her head and covers her ears. Willow winces at the noise and then glances over at the kids to see them wearing ear muffs. She frowns and looks to Laney and Colby then does a double take. They were also wearing ear muffs but now sitting at two chair eating popcorn.

"When the... how..."

Xander rolls away from the door when he's finished his burst, "Big noise scare monster, remember?"

Willow glances over and kids, "Got it."

They both freeze as they hear a woman screaming outside. Xander looks out again.

"Damn it!"

He opens the door and goes out to rescue whomever it is, pulling the door closed behind him. Buffy runs up to Willow.

"Surely he'll not desert us!"

Willow shakes her head over with the night, "Whatever"

She rolls her eyes and heads into the living room to eat some popcorn from Laney as Buffy stands wide-eyed with fear.

Outside the house, Cordelia screams as she runs from a sasquatch.

"Somebody help me!"

She looks back at the monster chasing her and screams. When she turns back around again she runs into Xander.

"Xander! Help me!"

"Come inside!"

He takes her by her elbow and leads her to the house. Willow watches through the window then moves as Xander and Cordelia quickly come in through the door.

"Cordelia!"

Cordelia frowns at Willow then her eyes widen as she looks at her outfit, "Wait a..."

Willow holds her hands up stopping Cordelia from speaking, "Okay, your name is Cordelia, you're not a cat, you're in high school, and we're your friends. Well, sort of."

Cordelia looks at her confused, "That's nice, Willow. And you went mental when?"

"You know us?" Willows stares bemused.

Cordelia nods with a shrug, "Yeah. Lucky me. What's with the name game?"

Willow huffs, "A lot's going on."

Laney picks up the now awake Liam and places him on her hip as she looks at the scene in interest.

Cordelia scoffs, "No kidding. I was just attacked by Jo-Jo, the Dog-Faced Boy. Look at my costume!" She pouts showing the torn sleeve, "Do you really think that Partytown's gonna give me my deposit back? Not on the likely. Now people are going crazy around the neighborhood and I'm stuck in Buffy's house with you two. God this is torture."

"Cara mia... To live without you, only that would be torture..." Colby states poetically as Laney looks at him in a trance like gaze.

"A day alone, only that would be death..." Laney repeats back in the same tone.

Immediately the two start kissing as the baby Laney holds in her arms begins to giggle.

Cordelia furrows an eyebrow looking at the scene, "Um what the heck is going on?"

...

Xander has taken his shirt off and puts it around Cordelia's shoulders.

"Here."

Cordelia smiles, "Thanks."

Willow huffs, "Okay. You guys stay here while I get some help. If something tries to get in, just fight it off."

Buffy stammers pacing around, "Well, i-it's not our place to fight. Uh, surely some men will protect us."

Raising an eyebrow, Cordelia looks at the now scared slayer in shock, "What's that riff?"

Willow groans, "I-it's like amnesia, okay? They don't know who they are. Not even Laney and Colby. Just sit tight."

Willow starts to go through the wall as Cordelia frowns, "Who died and made her the boss?"
