"What up party people!" I yell slamming the door to the new girls cabin open.

"Shh! Liz is sleeping!" Nad whisper-yells.

"Crap sorry!" I yelp then cover my mouth with my hands.

"It's fine I'm awake now." Liz says sitting up from her bunk.

The cabin Gally and the builders made us is pretty big, there are two bunk beds along the back and front wall and one on each side. All the beds are pushed against the wall so in the middle there's quite a lot of room. Gally said he would expand the room or make more beds if more girls came. Beside the door is a bathroom, sink, toilet, shower.

I walk over to my bed, the far corner bottom bunk. The best bed. Lizzy is above me and Nad is the bottom beside me.

Liz hangs her head down her hair falling in my face.

I push her hair out of my face. "How was your sleep?"

"Pretty good. I talked to Minho, he said I don't have to run today. Dunno how I convinced him."

"Good job!" I smile.

"I have to head to work soon." Nad says.

In the month Nad has been here she had got a job in the kitchen with Frypan.

"Aww." Liz complains. "Well we'll see you soon."

"What's for lunch?" I ask.

"Probably eggs." Nad replys heading out the door.

"I didn't bring any eggs.." I say after the doors closed. "Maybe Winston did.."

"Probably not." Liz laughs. "Guess we'll see soon enough."

"Yeah." I laugh. "Do we think Greenies a girl or boy?"

"I don't know.." Liz admits."I hope it's another girl. But then again it could very well be a boy."

"That's what I'm thinking!" I say with a grin. "Your face is really red."

"I can feel it." She lifts her head up.

"You look like a tomato!" I laugh.

"Thanks" Liz laughs sarcastically.

"Of course!" I smile. "I might need to get those eggs.."

"Maybe." Liz says.

"Well I'll be back then." I sigh standing up from my bed. "See you soon!"

I close the door running to the barn.

I quickly collect the eggs and run to the kitchen. Well almost do. I'm halfway there when I trip over my own two feet and drop the eggs cracking them all over the grass.

I look down at the eggs. "Crap." I look through all of them checking to see if any made it. None did.  "How did all of the eggs crack. That's crazy."

I walk to the kitchen.

"Ah! Chloe! We need eggs!" Frypan says.

"Funny story... I kinda dropped them all and they all broke.. I'm so so so sorry."

Frypan looks up from the sink. "What."

"Yeah.." I say. "Um.. I'm sorry."

Nad looks at me and laughs. "It's fine. I promise. We'll find something else.

"Are you sure?" I ask. "I feel bad. I'm sure we could salvage some of them."

"I'm not feeding hungry teenage bo- wait maybe." Fry says thinking. "Get me the eggs. If we scramble them... No one will know!"

"Unless we tell anyone." Nad says laughing.

"But we won't." Fry says looking from me to Nad. "Right?"

"Right." I agree. "I'll get the eggs. And Liz."

"Why Liz?" Frypan asks.

"She'll want to help." I say.

"100% she will." Nad says.

"Fine fine get here but do it quickly!"

"I will!" I run out of the kitchen and back to our room.

"LIZZZ!" I yell opening the door.

She quickly sits up on her bed. "What? What?!"

"I need help! Come along and I'll explain everything."

"Ok.." she jumps off her bed and runs after me as I explain.

"So we're going to feed the runners broken ground eggs?"

"Yes."

"Perfect!" She grins. "Let's do this!"

I run to where the eggs have dropped and Liz runs into the kitchen. I quickly scoop some of the eggs into the bucket. There's dirt, grass, egg shells and egg all in the bucket. I walk back to the kitchen.

"Alright. Liz, Chloe try to get as much of the grass, dirt and shells out of the eggs. Nad you can help and then actually make the eggs." Frypan says.

"What about you?" I ask.

"I'll make the rest of the food." 

"Lets do this!" 

Me, Liz and Nad take most of the grime out of the eggs. 

"And.. Done!"  say.

"Theres still more." Liz says.

"Flavor?" I asks.

"Flavor." Nad snorts. "Do you think they'll know?"

"How would they?" I ask. "They're not that smart."

"True that." Frypan says pointing the spatula at me.

We quickly try to finish the food but we're interrupted by the Greenie alarm.

"Crap!" Liz yells. "We have to get the Greenie!"

Me, Nad and Liz all run out of the kitchen to the box. Liz holds my hand and Nad holds Liz's so we're all in one long train.

"Let us through!" I yell using my free hand to push through the boys.

We push to the front.

"Liz grab the other side of the box lid." I tell her.

She grabs one side and I grab the other. We pull the box lid open.

Nad peaks in. "It's another girl!"

I look in. Sure enough it is a girl,  brunette one with her hair in a lose braid-pony. I smile. "We're going to get you out ok?"

The girl looks up at us with wide eyes but nods.

"Liz grab the rope." I tell her.

Nad turns to the boys. While me and Liz pull the new girl up.

"DON'T TOUCH THE NEW GIRL OR WE'LL FEED YOU TO THE GRIEVERS." Nad screams to them.

We pull the girl up. Thankfully the boys leave her alone. "Come with us to the kitchen."

The girl follows us to the kitchen. "We'll explain everything while we cook."

"Where are we?" The girl asks.

"The Glade." Frypan says.

We explain everything to the new girl while we finish the ground eggs.

"Why do the eggs have grass in them?" The girl asks.

"They feel on the floor now we're going to feed them so some of the boys." Liz says.

"Solid." The girl says.

"Hey is it lunch time?" A Glader asks we turns to see Ben standing there.

"Yeah." Frypan says. "Have some eggs."

Ben takes a plate of eggs and thanks us then leaves. The five of us look out the window watching him eat the eggs.

"Why isn't he reacting?"

"I don't know, does he not taste it?"

"How long were they on the ground?"

"I knew we should have left the grass and dirt in!"

"Whatever."

Unfortunately Ben doesn't react to the floor eggs and finishes them.

"Maybe he ears grass and dirt regularly so he doesn't notice." I shrug.

Everyone just looks at me funny.

"Hey it could be!"
