JUNE SAT IN THE DARK, only the small reading lamp next to the couch bathed the living room in warm, dull light while she waited for Happy to come home.

Gemma had offered to let the kids sleep at her house so that they wouldn't see Happy coming home covered in blood. And June had agreedᅳ the girls were already traumatized enough.

Tomorrow morning, however, she would immediately head to her mom's to pick them up so they could be there for their girls. Alanna in particular needed her parents now. Before Happy left, the nine-year-old clung to him as if her life depended on it. Only he had been able to calm her down a little.

Seeing his baby girl so traumatized had only fueled his anger and hatred and June shuddered as she thought about what her husband would do to them, how slow and painful he would make their deaths.

Even though she didn't want any secrets in her marriage, she wouldn't ask for details in this case for onceᅳ just to protect her stomach.

When the key turned in the lock, June immediately jumped up and rushed to the door, sighing in relief when she saw her husbandᅳ and she wasn't disappointed, her expectations even exceeded.

Happy had taken their car instead of his bike for a reason.

His clothes clung to his body, damp from the blood that was stuck to them and the sweat that had already dried. His face was clean, but dried blood stuck to his hands and the smell that clung to him, a mixture of blood and probably someone else's piss, plus a strong smell of cleaning products, made June gag.

"Jesus, what did you do to them?", she finally asked as she covered her nose and mouth and shook off the disturbing images that flooded her mind. "Forget it, I don't think I wanna know."

"I wouldn't have told you, little girl", Happy croaked with a shrug. "There are just some things you don't need to hear or see."

June was silent for a moment, but showed understanding, knowing that Happy was only trying to protect her by not telling her. "Come on, I'll clean you up."

Grabbing his hand, ignoring the blood on it, she led him towards the bathroom where everything was already ready. Towel, fresh clothes, even bandages and other things in case he needed them.

"Go take a shower, I'll take care of your clothes", she told him, turning the water on so it could warm up. "Or should we just throw them away?"

"Throw 'em away, put the garbage in the garage, I'll take care of it tomorrow", he told her, pulling her towards him by her wrist. However, he kept his distance so she'd stay clean. "I want my kids with me later, you think we can pick them up?"

"Hap, it's the middle of the night", June said with a sigh, rubbing her forehead before resting her hands on her hips, thinking about a solution. "Mom won't close an eye anyway. We'll just head over there later and spend the night there, okay? That way we can be with the kids without having to wake them up."

Happy nodded briefly, appreciation flashing in his dark eyes. "Sounds like a plan."

"Okay, I'll give you a minute..wash all that shit off, please", she urged him, not wanting the others' blood and piss to stick to her furniture. "I'll wait in the living room."

"June", Happy stopped her again when she was already at the door, looking at her seriously as she tilted her head. "I'll never let anyone hurt you, I promise you, little girl."

"I know, baby, I always knew that", she hummed, smiling sheepishly as he tossed his shirt aside with a grunt before stepping into the shower.

Today she decided not to join him, instead she gave him the time he needed and got rid of his clothes as he had said and let her mom know that they would be over in about an hour.

JUNE'S HEAD LAY IN Happy's lap, her legs bent as she read a book and occasionally popped a strawberry into her mouth, sighing contentedly every time Happy's hand circled her large bump while he watched their girls play.

They had decided to spend the day at the lake, preferring to spend time here when the sun was beating down on Charming and only cold water and air conditioning helped.

Shortly after the events with the Argent Devils had taken place, June had found out that she was pregnant, that she had even already been pregnant when everything had happened.

Would she have acted differently had she known about it? Probably not, after all it was about Callie's and Alanna's safetyᅳ but she would definitely have tried to be more careful.

Fortunately, they apparently had a little sturdy rascal on the way, a boy this timeᅳ and even the girls couldn't be happier.

"Ow!" June pouted as she received a firm kick to her ribs. "Our little man is strong, where is this going to end if he keeps doing that?"

"Hey, it's only a few more weeks", Happy chuckled, finally allowing  himself to relax a little again. "He's gotta be ready for life with two sisters; it's not going to be easy for him."

"Oh please..our girls are angels", June gasped in mock offense, letting out a snort before both burst into laughter, knowing that their girls could be pretty stubborn. "But honestly, nothing will happen to him, our girls are already crazy about him."

"Yeah, Lana can't wait to become a big sister again", Happy remarked proudly, glancing at his daughters who were playing in the water, squealing and laughing. "She's finally happy again, her condition scared the shit out of me", he grunted.

After the incident, Alanna had holed up in her room for weeks, living in fear and paranoia until Happy decided to tell her the truth about what had happened to the man that had attacked her and the rest of his clubᅳ of course without telling too many details.

At first he was afraid that this would only traumatize her even more, but it had ultimately helped Alanna to finally relax a little again, knowing that none of the Argent Devils could ever hurt her or her family again.

Since then, her condition had improved significantly and now, apart from a few nightmares now and then, she could finally laugh again and leave the house without getting all paranoid.

"I know, she really scared me", June swallowed softly, trying to finally forget all the drama just like Alanna. "But she's strong, baby, after all, she's your daughterᅳ she'll be fine."

"I know that she is, but also thanks to her mom who shows her kids that giving up isn't an option", he looked down at June, rubbing his thumb against her baby bump. "Marry me again, Juneᅳ just you, me and the kids."

Flabbergasted and touched at the same time, June put her book down, sat up with Happy's help and stared at him, falling in love with this man all over again. "Are you serious? You really want to marry me again?"

Happy nodded as a corner of his mouth twitched upwards. "I messed up our first marriage, even though we were able to save it in the end. The second one should just be perfect."

"Well, if that's the case", she purred with a grin, her smile stretching from ear to ear, she leaned forward and claimed his lips for a loving kiss. "I'd love to marry you again."

"Good, I wouldn't have given up so easily either." Happy chuckled as she mumbled her words close to his lips, sending a warm feeling through his body before he claimed her lips this time, his hand slipping to the back of her neck to pull her closer. "I love you, woman."

"I love you too, baby", she whispered with a smile, snuggling into his side. "More than you'll ever know."

While Jax and Tara's marriage ultimately fell apart after what had happened and Tara had left Charming for good, Happy and June were closer than ever before, their lives finally complete now with another baby on the way.
