where every trainee is known for something,

but they are just getting started.

a trainee is seen adjusting the camera as it flickers on.

??? (??? / ?): they're having us set up the cameras ourselves for the individual cams. it's supposed to be a 'self-produced' concept.

she laughs nervously, tucking her hair behind her ears.  she has a glowing smile.

??? (??? / ?): they just told me i ranked number one! for the qualifying mission... i don't even know what to say really! i mean did i think i performed well, yes, but number one! wow.

she picks up her rank card and shows it to the camera. her name is blurred but the number 1 has been stamped boldly onto the paper.

??? (??? / ?): i'm grateful for this honor. but i hope this doesn't put a target on me. i remember when i first started training at *** i ranked at the very bottom of the monthly evaluation.

she fold her hands and lays them flat on the desk. she seems energetic, but restrained.

??? (??? / ?): and you know what one of the trainees said to me? the first one to the top is also the first one to the bottom.

her expression becomes tight, resolved.

??? (??? / ?): she was right, that girl dropped out two months later because of the pressure.

she leans her chin into her hand, staring straight into the camera.

??? (??? / ?): that won't happen to me.

the screen fades to black.
