Mistake

~Defense Class~

"Alright, pick a partner!" the teacher calls, causing Jimin to huff. His eyes search for her, quickly finding the girl in the corner of the room, talking to her friend. Dahyun? Is that her name? Jimin never cared about the other girl, he only ever cared about upsetting dear Y/n. He smirks before standing, turning to Taehyung.

"You and Jungkook should partner up... I'm going to battle the Gryff."

His Hufflepuff friend raises a brow, "You want me to fight Jungkook?"

"Yeah, maybe you can score, I know how much you dig him."

"Ha," Tae blankly replies.

Jimin winks, "Just watch, I'll win."

"Good luck, I hear she's been practicing."

"Not as much as me."

He strides across the room, approaching the two girls in the corner. Dahyun nudges Y/n's shoulder, motioning to Jimin as he comes closer. Y/n turns just in time for Jimin to enter her personal space, standing there with a smirk. "You and me L/n?"

"In your dreams," she replies with an eye roll.

He waves his wand back and forth, "Tae told me you've been practicing. Is that true?"

"That's not your business," she mumbles.

Dahyun glares at him as he comes even closer to her friend, his face inches away from hers. "Who taught you, hm?" he asks, resisting his overwhelming urge to pin her to the wall. Wait... what? Jimin's cocky posture falters for a moment, but he regains it in a split second. Pin her... to a wall? Why would he want to do that? He shakes his own thoughts off, trying to look as intimidating as possible, but he knows it's not working.

"Jungkook," she says, backing up slightly.

As soon as she backs up, he comes closer. "The Ravenclaw is teaching you how to fight? Ooh so now you're using your friends, huh?"

"Unlike your friends, my friends aren't assholes. I actually like them," she replies, giving him a shrug that only makes him angrier.

"Fine. Prove it. Let's dance."

Before she can say anything else, he grabs her wrist, pulling her forward. She yelps, Dahyun calling out her name and coming after them. He makes sure he's not hurting her, keeping a light grip that's still hard enough to pull her forward. "Let her go asshat!" Dahyun yells, running until she's in front of them.

He only sighs, going around her. "Let this happen... what's your name? Dahyun?" Her veins threaten to burst out of her skin at his remark. "Y/n and I have some unfinished business. Stay out of it."

Y/n holds up a hand to stop her friend from going full beast mode. "It's okay, really," she says.

Although Dahyun is clearly unconvinced, she nods and backs off. The teacher is talking to another group, telling them they can go first, but Jimin quickly interjects. "We'd like to go first, if that's okay," Jimin says, the teacher and the other pair turning to face him.

"That's okay with us," the pair says, practically in-sync.

The teacher takes a moment, then grunts. "Why am I not surprised it's Park and L/n? Whenever something happens in this class, it's always you two."

She points a finger at Jimin. "Don't look at me, he's the one who starts everything."

"Gryffindors," he replies with an eye roll.

"Get on the stage," the teacher says, Jimin instantly agreeing. He hops up, walking to the other side while Y/N stays put. He turns to face her, watching as she draws her wand. He draws his as well, the two bowing before the instructor counts down. As soon as she says '3', Jimin smirks.

The Latin spews from her tongue, and a bolt of white comes at him. He's quick to block. "Not bad for a Gryff," he says. She doesn't give in to his cocky remarks, only making him more intrigued as she fires again. Jimin stumbles, nearly falling in the effort to block. Alright... she really has been practicing. Two can play this game.

He retaliates, her blocking and making it look easy. Jimin bites his lip, hiding his fury to instead attack again, firing rapidly. She blocks and blocks, each block taking more out of her. He slyly smiles while she dodges the next attack, about to fire. As soon as she does, he deflects it back on her, causing her to go flying to the ground.

Jimin snickers, "Gryffindors." However, she doesn't get up. His posture goes from cocky to concerned. "Y/n?" he asks, starting to come closer. Oh no, did he overdo it? Jimin sprints forward, fear rushing in his veins, but he's interrupted by Jungkook jumping onto the stage.

He kneels next to her. "Hey, Y/n!" Jungkook says, shaking her.

She sits up, panting slightly. "S-Sorry... I don't know what happened," she mutters, holding her head.

Jimin slows his pace, about to kneel next to her when Jungkook gets in the way. He picks the girl up, glaring at Jimin. "Not another step, Park," he says, holding Y/n protectively against his chest.

"Koo... it's okay," she whispers, but he shakes his head.

"I told you, didn't I? I told you just last week... eventually you'd do it." Jimin's face falls more. Jungkook was right. This whole time he was right. Eventually Jimin would hurt her. Physically hurt her.

"That's enough!" the teacher calls, "get off the stage! Next pair!"

They depart, Jungkook starting to walk away. Jimin wants to go after them, his shoulders slumping. "Y/n," he mumbles, looking after her. However, Jungkook doesn't peek back, and neither does she. For the first time in a long, long time, his heart beats faster. His blood boils seeing her in Jungkook's arms. He holds his breath as his vision turns red. What is this feeling? He's not sure, and he's not sure if he wants to find out...
