The school's on high alert.
With the Daunted being back, everyone's on edge: especially you. After the reveal that your mother is indeed alive and out of Azkaban (your father probably the same way), things got gloomy. You're staring at the wall with an emotionless stare. Jungkook's sitting next to you, a hand placed gently on your shoulder. "It's not your fault you know," he says.
"I'm it," you whisper, turning to look at him, "my mother wants to either kill me or convert me because I'm the one in the prophecy. That's the only explanation. It's my fault... all of this is my fault."
"It's not your fault for being born," he urges. You simply shake him off.
Jimin told you about the prophecy yesterday, on the way back from the forest. As soon as the two of you got back, you reported your findings to the headmaster and he instantly shut everything down. He made patrols more secure and sent parties out to the forest to look for more members of the Daunted. As far as you know, nothing's been found so far. Your mother must've gotten far already.
"If I knew sooner I could've stopped all of this. I could've stopped the maze, I could've stopped Jimin getting taken, and I could stop anything that happens in the future because of him," you mumble.
"How the hell were you supposed to know?" Jungkook asks in a whisper, "there's no way you could have known. Please stop beating yourself up over this. What's done is done, there's nothing more you can do."
"But there should be something else. Why am I so useless? I should've just killed my mom right then and there. Taking out one of Chantelle's most powerful wizards? That would've turned the tide."
Jungkook stares at you with a horrified expression. "Y/n... I know you feel guilty, but this isn't you talking. You? Kill? Let alone your own blood? That's not you and it never will be," he says, massaging your shoulder. You shake your head and look down. Your room feels almost empty even though the two of you are in it. Jungkook keeps massaging you until there's a knock at the door. Two seconds later, Jimin walks in.
You don't bother looking up at him, you only keep your somber eyes on the ground. Jungkook gives your shoulder one last squeeze before standing. "I'll get back to Ravenclaw now, I have some studying to do," he says before going over to the door. He briefly exchanges quiet words with Jimin, then, he leaves and closes the door behind him. Jimin merely gazes at you for a few seconds. Then, he walks over and cautiously sits next to you.
No words are exchanged for a couple minutes. He turns to you with those big, pretty eyes of his that made you fall in love. God dammit the butterflies are back. The love is back too. The way he looks at you with such sincerity makes your heart beat in a way it shouldn't. The guilt comes too. The guilt of pushing him away, and it dawns upon you that he's going through so much. More than you know. You were so blinded by your trauma you didn't even consider his. God, how horrible of a person does that make you? Maybe you both need the comfort right now. After everything you've been through, you need him, and him you. You turn your body to him, and he looks at you curiously. Then you practically tackle him to the bed.
Jimin grunts as you pin him to the mattress, his head hitting the pillows while you lay on top of him. "Jimin..." you whimper, clutching at his shirt.
"Shh, shh," he coos, rubbing circles into your skin, "it's okay. It's a-all gonna be okay." You sniffle and bury your head against his chest. His arms stay tightly wrapped around your back, his lips landing on the top of your head. "Shh it's okay honey, it's okay. I promise. I'm not leaving you this time. I'm not. Never again." You nod against him and softly cry, him crying with you.
Many 'sorry's' are exchanged between you two. There's not much else to say other than that. He strokes your locks when the two of you finally calm down. For a brief moment, it feels like what he's saying is true: it's all gonna be okay. He pecks the top of your head again and somehow holds you even closer. "It's gonna be okay my love, we have all our friends who support us right by our side. I'm so sorry about your mom."
"And I'm sorry about your parents," you reply. Another thing to feel bad for: your parents are the ones behind Jimin's parents' deaths. How the hell are you supposed to react to that? The poor boy got to meet his parent's murderer only to find out they're his ex-girlfriend's parents. How does anyone react to that?
Jimin nuzzles his nose against your neck and sighs. "I'm sorry I hurt you," he sadly says.
You already forgave him. Truthfully, it was all your fault. Your fault for taking it too far. For pushing him away when you needed each other the most. He's blaming himself... but none of it was ever his fault in the first place. Not even remotely. Trauma triggered your first harsh reaction to him, but after? There's no excuses for that. "I forgive you Jimin."
He pulls back and stares into your eyes in amazement, "You do?"
You nod and place a hand on his cheek, "I do. I'm sorry for everything you've been through, and everything you'll continue to go through because of this. But, for whatever it's worth, I'm really glad you're here." You softly smile, him smiling back. "I'm kind of tired so I um... I think I might sleep," you whisper. He nods, preparing to move when you hold him in place.
His curious eyes flicker back up to look at you, his eyebrows raising to ask the question he doesn't say aloud. "Can you stay?" you ask quietly, almost as if ashamed of needing his touch this badly. He's quick to nod. You roll off of him and go on your side of your bed, keeping your body turned towards him. He shuts off the lamp, then turns back to you and keeps his soft smile on his face.
Jimin's body shifts closer to yours, his hand reaching out to gently place itself on your upper arm. When you let him touch you he sighs in relief. "If you wanted to hold me... you could've just asked," you murmur. And in mere seconds he's cuddling you, bringing you up against his chest and kissing the top of your head yet again. A sigh of relief leaves your lips as you return the gesture. You wrap your arms around his back. He's so fucking warm. You didn't even realize how badly you needed this until you felt it for the first time in a month. You've needed him. Park Jimin. Even Yoongi's touch and desire didn't satisfy you like this does.
"I'm never leaving you again," he says, tangling his legs with yours. The intimacy makes your heart swoon, your brain filling with bliss. "I'm never going to leave you," he repeats while cradling you like a baby, "I promise. I'm not going to leave you honey, I never will."
You nod against his chest, "Please be alright. I know how hard everything must've been recently. But please take care of yourself, and talk to me if you ever need anything."
He sniffles, squeezing you in response. "Thank you," he whispers. You almost laugh.
"Don't thank me Park, the truth is, I should be the one thanking you..."
