The Ultimate Prank Battle

The Marauders took Craig's idea and ran with it--literally, they ran almost all the way back to Hogwarts into Dumbledore's office to propose it to him. Being the fair guy that he was, Dumbledore agreed to cancel classes for the day to hold the prank battle.
Lily had taken charge of creating the rest of the rule list since everyone else believed it should just be an all-out war between all students. This included her holding multiple prefect meetings--with the help of James--and making a bargain with the professors.
Rule #1: You must buy a wristband from Lily Evans and Mary Macdonald to participate. Each wristband costs one galleon, so if you cannot afford this please see James Potter.
Rule #2: Prank aids are additional money and will only be sold to those who can buy them themselves.
Rule #3: Professors have the power to give out detentions if you hurt another student, intentionally and unintentionally.
Rule #4: Once the professors end the fundraiser, normal school rules apply! This means that if you pull a prank after the event ends, you can receive detention.
Rule #5: You can only prank other people who are wearing wristbands.
**It will result in one or more detentions if you do not follow the rules!
Handing out wristbands at the entrance to the Great Hall was more difficult than it sounded. People were so eager for the prank battle to begin that instead of just waiting in line calmly, there was pushing and shoving that pissed Lily off to no end. It was practically a miracle she hadn't cursed anyone out yet.
It seemed that students were also very enthusiastic about quidditch returning as multiple rich students had donated directly to Dumbledore's donation bucket. James had been one of these students since he wrote to Mia and Flea requesting they send in a donation "in the name of quidditch."
Mary and Lily walked into the Great Hall to see James and Sirius standing on the staff table getting ready to make a speech. Every student held their breaths in anticipation for the trademark Marauder behavior.
"Quidditch has been a big part of Hogwarts ever since the game was introduced here! So, as students, we need to band together in the name of quidditch!" James's voice rung throughout the room.
"In the name of quidditch!" Everyone chorused back.
"Let the games begin!" Sirius grinned as chaos broke out among the students.
...
Annie and Julia were earning quite the reputation among the ranks of pranksters. It wasn't surprising since Annie had grown up around James, who was believe it or not, not the best influence on small children. Mary worried for his future children.
Yet, when they walked straight up to Lily and Mary with massive grins upon their faces, the two older girls just nodded in greeting and continued to count the money in front of them.
On the silent count of three, Annie and Julia took out their wands, whispered a charm, and covered Mary and Lily in green sludge. Annie had actually learned the charm from Lily because of the time she had covered Slytherins in the slime after Annie was attacked.
"Oh, you two sure asked for it now!" Lily shouted as she and Mary chased after the two girls through a web of students.
They never did catch up with them though because Marlene and Sirius came out of nowhere pelting them with what looked like paint grenades.
"Argh!"
...
At some point in it all, Lily and Sirius had teamed up. The pairing was quite terrifying as they were both quick-witted, with a brilliant sense of what would cause the most chaos. Lily had a knack for it because she was often trying to do the exact opposite, to restore calmness at Hogwarts, but Sirius on the other hand, had a knack for it simply because he was a Marauder—it was a necessity for them.
James had been throwing dungbombs off every so often in the Great Hall to scare unsuspecting lower class men. He chuckled loudly every time they jumped, earning a glare from Minnie, who had been trying to hold the fort down for as long as possible. Lily had not missed the interaction while she was supposed to be focusing on the prank she and Sirius had come up with.
It was simple really.
Sirius had managed to conjure two brooms—one being his own and the other belonging to James—for the two to use. They were to fly into the middle of room with invisibility charms placed on them, so no one would suspect a thing. Like clockwork, they would then throw fireworks into the air to be set off suddenly. But, that wasn't the best part. Sirius had mentioned—Lily hadn't really been listening—that the chemical reaction from the firework smoke would make the ceiling start to rain. This only happened since it was a specific brand of firework.
"Ready Evans?" Sirius asked Lily as she clutched the broom handle.
She had paled considerably at the prospect of flying in a few moments, yet Sirius couldn't see this because they were both invisible, along with the two brooms.
"Sure," Lily replied, trying desperately to sound confident in herself, but she hadn't flown in a long time.
How the fuck did I get myself into this mess?
"Alright, on the count of three..."
Absolute utter chaos sounded through the air after they threw the fireworks. Lily had crashed into the floor at a fair amount of speed, but she recovered by laughing—which would've freaked everyone out if they hadn't all started to be drenched in rain a few seconds before.
She removed the invisibility charm to see Sirius and James run out of the Great Hall together laughing like maniacs.
Merlin help us...
It didn't take long for them to pick their first two victims. They had caught Mary and Remus trying to go unnoticed while throwing paint pellets at random students—one striking the middle of Dumbledore's beard, making it a lavish purple color.
Simple pranks, such as a charm or a paint pellet weren't the Marauders specialty like the more elaborate ones that took days to plan were, but Sirius and James didn't have days, they had a few seconds. Naturally, they shared a devilish grin and sent a tripping jinx Mary and Remus's way, causing them both to fall into a pile of suds.
"Bloody hell!"
...
Regulus had bought a wristband, only because he played quidditch and wanted to continue playing for the rest of the year. Despite this he hadn't wanted to actually participate and pull a prank. Buying a wristband was one thing, but pulling a prank was a whole other ball game, one Regulus did not want to participate in.
Besides, his brother was known for running around the halls pranking people every chance he got and being thrown in detention. Regulus was far too stubborn to take part in something his brother liked bar quidditch, which seemed to be why he was in the situation in the first place.
Craig held two whipped cream pies, something Regulus hadn't known even existed until now, with the intent that they could prank someone together with the pies. As everyone was far too consumed in the chaos that surrounded them, Craig was sure Regulus would be on board with the idea—Merlin was he so wrong.
"I'm not running up to some random person and pranking them!" Regulus reiterated much to the irritation of Craig.
He had managed to get the pie into the younger boy's hands, but now that seemed like the wrong idea. At least when Craig had it in his hands he could use it for its purpose, which was certainly not to be eaten.
"Everyone with a wristband signed up for this! It's all apart of the fun!" Craig argued with a small grin on his face.
"I don't see how this is fun," Regulus gestured around at the students around him covered in stuff.
Regulus wasn't even sure he could identify what was on them, which made him feel a bit sick to his stomach admittedly. So, he wasn't too sure why Craig wanted to join in. All he wanted to do was crawl into the library and read a book or just get away from all the screaming children around him—they were starting to get annoying.
"If you would just join in, it would be a lot more fun!" Craig said albeit a bit more annoyed this time.
"Meh, I don't think so," Reg challenged with a smirk.
Bloody hell! There he goes smirking again...
To keep his ever increasing amount of thoughts that made him more impulsive and confused away, Craig did the first thing he could think of. He threw the pie in Regulus's face. Now, he was the one smirking at a shocked Regulus.
"Was that satisfying for you?" Regulus asked Craig wiping the whipped cream from his eyes.
"Indeed it was," Craig smirked more now.
Must get the stupid smirk off his face...
Without another thought, he threw his own pie in Craig's face, taking the older boy by surprise. He agreed with Craig—throwing a pie in someone's face was quite satisfying.

James had managed to get every single one of the participants into the Great Hall for the finale. Minnie had never seen the halls in such a disarray, but she stood with a grimace upon her face, watching as Lily stood in front of the entire school teaching a simple water charm.
The plan was to have a water fight with the entire school involved—quite the ambitious plot. Everyone was filled with slight anticipation as many things had the possibility of going wrong, yet there was excitement eating at everyone as well.
"Alright! Now, that everyone knows the water charm, we'll start on the count of three," James spoke loudly.
"One!" Lily started.
"Two!"
"Three!"
All hell broke loose. It was friends against friends, house against house, but Lily noticed that there were members of different houses working together too. James took her analyzation distraction to his advantage by catching her by surprise and throwing her over his shoulder. He ran directly through the line of fire, attracting everyone's attention to the head boy and girl.
"Drench the head girl in water while you still can!" James shouted as Lily laughed hysterically over his shoulder.
Minnie watched in amusement, but in a disapproving manner. Sirius shot water at her face, causing the professor to splutter in surprise.
"We thrive in chaos, Minnie," Sirius responded to the professor's incredulous look.
"I hope you also thrive in detention, Black."

Author's Note:
Y'all asked, so y'all received Starflower, Craigulus, and a small scene of Annie and Julia! I hope it was up to your standards.
This was an unbelievably fun chapter to write and honestly I don't think I've ever been more motivated to write than I am rn. However, that does not mean I haven't stopped procrastinating...
Lmao anyways thanks for reading
