𝑃𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑙 𝑔𝑟𝑒𝑒𝑛 sweater 💚 ~Jacklyn~

No one POV
"You had to witness it Jack...she went crazy as soon as the girl stood near her ex and the fact that I used to date her scares me..." Sonny said.
"Are you even listening?"
No, Jack wasn't listening at all.
His head was on the desk and his eyes closed.
"Didn't sleep again? I told you to take your pills, they can help you..." Sonny changed into a more sympathetic tone.
No reply.
"I read somewhere that sleep deprivation is a form of self-harm...please Jack don't do this to yourself..."
Sonny was the only one aware of Jack's depression, he knew everything and his heart ached for his best friend each day that passed by but he was glad that Jack was still there...
"I'll sleep this afternoon ok?" Jack compromised and in that moment the principal walked into the classroom.
She was followed by a short guy with a pastel green sweater and eyes that matched it...those eyes...the boy looked nervous but his eyes were screaming calmness somehow.
Jack stared at them the whole time ignoring the presentation.
Then the boy sat at a desk not far away from Jack.

"The new kid seems cool no?" Sonny started the conversation while they were headed to their lockers.
"...yeah sure..." Jack replied distractedly cause in that moment the new guy, Brook was his name, passed by.
Jack never liked pastel colors, he was more of a dark color type of person, but he was sure that light green could have been his new favorite one, also he wasn't into fluffy things but Brook's black fluffy backpack was the only exception.
Everything about that boy was cute and the exception for Jack.
"We should go talk to him...you know, maybe he needs new friends..." Sonny proposed.
"What?!"
"Just wanted to be friendly...no need to panic" Sonny was confused by his best friend's behavior.
"No, I'm not panicking..."
"Sure..." Sonny gave him a weird and confused look.
"Sorry...are you Jack?" Someone tapped on Sonny's shoulder, it was Brook.
"Nope, he's the guy you're searching for" Sonny grabbed Jack's shoulder and put him in front of Brook.
"Oh hi, sorry to disturb you but the principal told me that you could have given me a tour of the school just so I don't get lost" the blonde boy gripped the strap of his backpack tightly.
"Yeah sure, he can do that" Sonny answered for him.

So Sonny left the two boys in the hallway...
"So...I'll give you a tour I guess..." Jack shyly said walking towards the west wing of the school.
The whole time Jack wasn't uncomfortable but he didn't know what to say while Brook walked quietly beside him.
"Well that's it...there's isn't much to see"
They ended in the middle of the football pitch.
"Still seems better than my old school...I hope there aren't any homophobic assholes..." Brook said looking down.
"Well not really...there are some people that judge but no one really goes beyond the weird stares"
"Ok I guess I can handle that"
"I'm sorry if someone bullied you..." Jack added after a moment of silence.
"It's ok...my dad wasn't really supportive since the beginning so...got used to the shit" Brook played with the grass.
"Still you don't deserve it...no one deserves it" Jack smiled and it was the first true smile in months.

Weeks passed by and Jack still couldn't fall asleep, at one point he had to call Sonny over to help him, keep him company till he closed his eyes.
The situation was out of hand, dark circles under his eyes even more visible due to the contrast with his fair skin that looked even paler.
Also, Jack's thoughts were killing him, he didn't know how to turn them off.
But one thing was going ok...Brook.
The two boys got close and somehow he made Jack feel better, not that Sonny wasn't being helpful.

"Hey...what happened to your face?" Brook asked as soon as he saw the raven boy.
"Nothing. Just dark circles"
Jack put in his locker combination.
"Put this eye cream under your eyes, I promise it helps" the boy took it out from his fluffy backpack.
"Thanks" Jack smiled weakly and stopped to look at Brook for a second.
He had a cute dusty pink jumper on that was a bit oversize and dark jeans that hugged his legs perfectly, to top off the look Jack noticed that he put a bit of blush cause his cheeks were slightly more rosy than usual.
"You look cute today" Jack quickly said before rushing to class.
If the blush made Brook's cheeks pinker, after that compliment he became the color pink.

-after school-
"Hey, what about we hang out tonight? There's a drag show that I want to see so bad" Brook asked with puppy eyes.
"I mean Sonny has some family stuff to do so yeah why not? Never saw a...drag race..."
"God, I really have to teach you a couple of things" Brook shook his head in disapproval but with a smile.
"Don't be late" he warned before leaving.

"Sonny! Fuck...what do people wear at a drag race?!" Jack panicked.
"Are you a drag queen?"
"No? What the fuck?"
"Then just wear your usual clothes" Sonny said through the phone.
"Don't use that sassy tone with me" Jack glared at his friend even tho he wasn't there.
"Just take it chill. You like him and he obviously likes you so nothing to worry about. Now I have to go, my grandma wants to take photos so pray for me"
And he hanged up.
"Thanks" Jack said to his own reflection in the mirror.

"Wow...you look...a lot fancier than me..."
Jack compared to Brook looked homeless.
The boy had a dark purple suit on with a sparkly top underneath the jacket, glitters on his eyelid.
"Nah, you look fine"
Brook meant that, he loved Jack's comfy and simple style.
They sat at a table not too far away from the stage and ordered some drinks.
They chatted and when the show started, Jack had fun.
He has never been so interested in something in his whole life.
He looked at Brook and the way the glitters reflected the lights made Jack feel something.
"Best drag race ever" Brook said excitedly squeezing Jack's hand.
The boy looked at their hands and Brook slowly pulled away.
"Sorry...got a bit too excited"
But Jack grabbed Brook's hand and intertwined their fingers, Brook's nails painted with a shade of purple that matched the suit.
"Do you wanna get food?"
Jack simply nodded.

They got burritos, bought a couple of beers at a 7eleven and walked through the city hand in hand.
Jack couldn't stop looking at how their hands fit perfectly with one another.
"Everything ok? You're more silent than usual"
Brook knew about Jack's depression cause the boy brought up the topic a couple of times, plus Brook have been there years ago.
"Yeah sure" but Jack wasn't even focusing on where he was walking.
Probably if it wasn't for Brook holding his hand, he would have gone into a pole.
"You know you can tell me everything..."
Jack sighed and sat near the fountain.
"I don't want this night to end. I know once I'll get back home, my depression will strike in and ruin everything" Jack confessed looking down.
"You can sleep at mine...my mum doesn't mind at all, she has the night shift at the hospital"

So Jack ended up sleeping at Brook's.
They got ready for bed and the room was cozy but still, Jack was having some problems.
His eyes were fixed on the light pink ceiling while Brook was peacefully sleeping next to him.
His mind was running so fastly that he couldn't even focus on one thought.
"Close your eyes and start to sleep" Brook mumbled, his face squished in the pillow.
"What is wrong with me?"
At the question, Brook woke up and looked at Jack arching his brow.
"I like you, I really do. I've been feeling like shit for months and when you walked in with your pastel green sweater, I basically fell in love. Everything around me stopped and was out of focus. At first, I thought that I liked you only cause you made me feel something after months of numbness like I needed you there to feel human again but I was wrong..." he did a pause, Brook listening in silence next to him.
"...you taught me how happiness looks like, how it feels and I hate the fact that my mind had to ruin everything. It's sappy but-"
"It's not sappy..." Brook got closer and caressed one of Jack's cheeks.
"It's ok...it's ok sometimes to feel like shit"
Jack wasn't sure about that.
"Our mind is complicated and fucks us up but you're strong and you're able to feel things regardless of what's in there" Brook pointed to Jack's temple.
"And about the fact that you like me...I like you too, how could I not? You're awkwardly cute, grumpy and always quiet but I love it cause it's who you are...I don't care what's going on in your mind, the storm that's in there"
Jack buried his head in Brook's chest and they sat there, mingled together with darkness surrounding them.
Brook started to hum quietly a song.
"How are you feeling?" He asked after a bit.
"...ok...just want to stay like this, with you holding me..."
"Ok, I can do that" Brook kissed his cheek and pulled them down on the bed.

-next morning-
Jack opened his eyes, a ray of sunshine passed through the dark curtains of the room.
He felt both rested and tired somehow.
"Hey..." Brook climbed in bed and kissed Jack's cheek lovingly.
He was wearing a pair of shorts that showed his smooth-shaved legs and honestly, his ass looked amazing in them.
Then on top, a big white tee and Jack found it adorable.
"What's on your face?" Jack asked sitting up.
"Eye patches. They help with eye bags and stuff, you should try them"
Jack nodded.
"Want breakfast? Brought some coffee but I also have tea if you want and made you some toast" Brook pointed to his vanity that had a tray on.
"Oh thanks...you didn't have to..."
"You had a rough night, you should eat" Brook smiled.
They had a chill morning, in bed all day and even though Jack wasn't feeling great mentally, Brook did his best to make him feel better.

"I love when you put that rosy thing on your cheeks" Jack commented while Brook was doing his makeup.
"Ah blush...really?"
"Yep. You look adorable" Jack shyly admitted.
"What else do you like?"
Brook got up from the chair of the vanity and moved to the bed where Jack was.
"Mm...the glittery stuff...and when your eyelashes...what are you doing?"
Brook climbed on Jack's lap.
"Can I put some mascara on you?"
Jack wasn't physically able to reply so he just nodded.
Brook proceed to coat Jack's eyelashes with the dark liquid.
Their faces were extremely close and Jack didn't know where to put his hands so he rested them on the other boy's hips.
"Done...you look hot..." Brook said, his face still pretty close to Jack.
"Do I?"
"Mm..."
Brook's eyes were more focused on the lips than the eyes.
"Did you put on lipstick?" The raven boy asked randomly.
"Mm...it tastes like strawberry..." Brook smiled and Jack knew what he was doing.
"I love strawberries..."
and he attacked Brook's lips.
It was heated but also sweet.
Brook had his arms around Jack's neck while the other boy was moving them slowly towards south...
The blonde boy shifted to get comfier and placed Jack's hands on his butt.
When they needed air, the kiss had turned into a hot make-out, Jack's lips were slightly red and not only cause of the lipstick.
"It really tastes like strawberry"
"Well, maybe I should wear it more..." Brook teased.
"You need to stop. God, when you shifted on my lap I was going insane"
"Oh so you only care about my ass...ok, noted" Brook climbed off trying to act offended but Jack stopped him.
"I mean you have tons of qualities but you can't wear those shorts and act innocent" Jack grabbed his chin and pecked him.
"Asshole" Brook said and pushed Jack down on the bed attacking his neck.
