Laura looked over the young girl brushing her hair out of her face as she eyed the blood covering the girl.

Laura took a breath "Harper, tell me exactly what happened"

tears continued to leave the girls eyes "I- I don't know" she croaked "I told her she shouldn't come out with me during a full moon but she persisted and I-"

Harper sobbed lightly "Hey, Hey" Laura cupped the girls face "Just breath, Harper"

Harper listened to her words as she took a deep breath "I, I didn't know I could do that. I turned but something else happened"

she shook her head before sobbing "I killed her, It's my fault, I killed Diana"

Harper shot up from the couch her eyes wide as a gust of wind blows dust off the shelves, she places a hand to her chest touching the necklace around her neck.

her breathing began to slow as she swung her legs off the couch resting her head in her hands

Nightmares always seemed to haunt the Hale girl ever sense she turned ten and watched her family home burn to the ground to when she hurt the only other person she got close to besides Maia.

Harper's attention shifts as the door opens she takes a breath putting on a face as she stands "Oh, you're back what'd the dead body look like?" Harper clasps her hands together as she walks over to Derek and Scott but the two just ignore her.

"you know I have a life too" Scott points out.

"No you don't" Derek deadpanned as he walks up the stairs Harper couldn't help the small laugh the escapes her lips which ended up with a short glare from Scott.

"Yes I Do!" Scott shakes his head "I don't care what you say about him making me his pet or . . ."

Derek stops on the steps as he turns "Part of his pack" he corrects.

Scott raises his arms "Whatever, I have homework to do, I have to go to a parent teacher conference tomorrow because I'm failing chemistry"

Derek raises a brow "you wanna do homework or do you wanna not die" Scott sighs "you have less than a week until the full moon, you don't kill with him he kills you "

"Okay seriously who made up these rules" Scott spoke getting slightly annoyed.

"it's a rite of passage into his pack"

The brunette scoffs "you know what else is a rite of passage? Graduating from high school! And you don't have to kill anyone to do it, why can't you two just find him yourselves?" he looks to Harper then back to Derek "why can't you just sniff him out when he's human"

Harper spoke up from her spot "because the scent could be entirely different" she leans on the doorway with crossed arms.

"It has to be you" Derek adds "you have a connection with him, a link that you can't understand. If I can teach you to control your abilities, you can find him"

"so if I help you, you can stop him?" Scott asks.

"Not alone. we're stronger in numbers, a pack makes the individual more powerful" the older Hale explains.

"how am I supposed to help if I have no idea what I'm doing?" Scott questions.

"because I'm gonna teach you" Derek grew slightly annoyed with the McCall boy "do you remember what happened that first night you were shot in the arm? right after you were hit?"

He nods "I changed back"

Derek takes a step "Mhm, and when you were hit by his car same thing right?" Scott nods once again "what's the common denominator?"

Scott shrugs and shakes his head Derek takes ahold of the boys hand and began to squeeze it the sounds of his bones cracking filled their ears.

Scott yells in agony as he drops to the floor "what is. . . What the hell are you doing!"

Harper grimaces slightly "it'll heal" Derek says calmly with a shrug as he walks away from him

"It still hurt" Scott muttered

 Derek turns to him "that's what keeps you human, pain" 

Scott opens and closes his once broken hand, Derek's brows raise "maybe you will survive"

"just a friendly reminder that parent teacher conferences are tonight" Harper noticed all the worried looks on everyone's faces, Harper really didn't have much to worry about seeing as Derek wouldn't show anyway.

"students below a C average are required to attended" Mr. Harris continued and began to walk "I won't name you because the shame and self-disgust should be more than enough punishment"

Harper rolled her eyes while Mr. Harris looked to Stiles "has anyone seen Scott McCall?"

Stiles looks up from the book as he stops highlighting before he could say anything the door opens and everyone turns to see Jackson as he quickly walks to his seat .

Mr. Harris walks over to him and places a hand on his shoulder "hey, Jackson if you need to leave early for any reason, you let me know" Jackson nods in response.

Mr. Harris walks to the front of the class "everyone start reading chapter nine . . . Mr. Stilinski, try putting the highlighter down between paragraphs, it's Chemistry, not a coloring book"

Stiles gives him an annoyed look as he blows the highlighter cap into the air and catching it in his hand.

Harper sighs as she opened the book and began to read, her brows furrow as Stiles voice filled her ears "hey Danny, can I ask you a question?"

"No" he bluntly answered.

"well I'm going to anyway um, did Lydia show up in your home room today?" Stiles asks

Danny sighs "No" 

"Can I ask you another question?"

Harper continued to listen in on the conversation, finding it much more interesting than reading "Answers still no" Danny spoke

"Does anyone know what happened to her and Jackson last night?" Stiles asked his question despite Danny refusing

Danny was silent for a moment "he wouldn't tell me"

"But he's your best friend" Stiles pushes and Danny just shrugs.

"One more question"

"what?" Danny asked getting clearly annoyed.

"Do you find me attractive?"

harper's brows knit together, an amused smile on her face while Stiles continues to lean forward towards Danny in anticipation of the boys answer.

but as he continued to lean forward ultimately he topples out of his chair causing Harper to look over her shoulder as she bit her lip to stop from laughing, turning her attention back to the book.

"so do you just do this all day" Harper gestures to Derek as he does push ups boredom clear as day on her face "honestly I'd have more fun at sch-" 

Harper stops mid sentence as her head shoots to the door, Derek's does the same.

She gets up off the couch and begins to make her way to the window. Derek grabs ahold of her arm and drags her to the back of the house "stay here" 

she gives him a look and was about to protest but Derek shook his head "I'm serious, Harper. Stay put" he begins to walk away from her.

Harper let out a frustrated sigh as she presses her back up against the end of the staircase

the door flew open with a bang "No one home?" one of the men spoke as he looked around holding his shotgun tightly.

"Oh, they're here" Kate's voice rang out, Disgust and anger running through Harper's body just by hearing her voice "they're just not feeling particularly hospitable"

"maybe he's out, burying a bone in the back yard" one tried to joke which didn't work in his favour.

Kate looks at him with narrowed eyes "really, a dog joke? we're going there and that's the best you got?" 

Kate scoffs as she takes a step "if you want to provoke them, say something like, too bad your sister bit it before she had her first litter"

Harper's hands bawled into a fist Kate continued to walk around the house "too bad she howled like a bitch, when we cut her in half!"

Derek roars as he sends one of the men flying back into the wall, the mans screams stop once he hit the ground unconscious.

Derek runs down the hall as he jumps over the staircase and grabs the door frame and kicks the other man in the chest sending him backwards.

Harper heard the sound of a gun cocking she looks down the hall and sees a man pointing his gun at Derek, Harper doesn't hesitate to run down the hall, grabbing the man by his jacket as she lifts him up into the air and slams him on the floor her eyes glowing their bright blue she glances to Derek who runs at Kate.

Only to be stopped as she hits him with an electric baton causing him to fall to the ground now back in his human form as he groans, his body shuddering from the electricity pumped through his veins.

"this one grew up in all the right places" Kate walks over to Derek "I don't know whether to kill it or lick it"

Harper quietly walked over to the living room  as she takes the chance while Kate is distracted with Derek.

She runs up behind her but Kate swiftly turns around hitting her with the same electrocuted baton, Harper falls to the ground groans her jaw clenched as she tries to recover from the pain covering her body.

"now look at this one" Kate tilts her head "now she sure has grown, she looks like her mother don't you think?"

Harper glared daggers at the Argent as she chuckled "such a shames she couldn't see the girl you've become"

Harper put up a front as she slowly began to move away from her, covering up the hurt with a glare still grimacing every time she moved.

Derek made his way towards the couch Kate following him he pulled himself up and went to attack Kate again but failed he landed beside Harper.

Kate laughs and holds up the baton "900,000 volts" she sighs and looks to Derek "you never were good with electricity were you? or fire" 

she chuckles "which is why I'm gonna let you in on a little secret and well, maybe we can help each other out . . . Yes your sister was severed into pieces and used as bait to try to catch you and Harper unpleasant"

she shook her head with fake pity "and frankly, a little too chainsaw massacre for my taste, but quite true"

she chuckles once again "Now, here's the part that might really kick you in your balls. We didn't kill her "

Harper scoffs, Kates brows raise when he sees the look the two Hales are giving her "you think I'm lying?"

"wouldn't be the first time" Derek spat 

"sweetie" Kate walks over to them and crouches "well, why don't you just listen to my heart and tell me if I am, Okay" 

Harper eyes her as she focuses on her heartbeat "we . . . Didn't . . . Kill . . . Her" she spoke slowly and her heart never broke it's steady pace.

"you hear that there's no blips or upticks just the steady beat of the cold hard truth" she stands up "found bite marks on her body, what do you think did that? A mountain lion " She scoffs

"why aren't we helping each other out you might as well admit what you've been guessing all along which is, the Alpha killed your sister, and all you have to do is tell us who he is, and we'll take care of it for you. Problem solved everybody goes home happy" the blonde bunches her shoulders with a smile plastered on her face.

Harper glances to Derek as the two try to hide the fact they don't know but Kate saw through their act.

she tilts her head "unless, you don't know either" she chuckles "Wow. Guess who just became totally useless" 

she turns around, gun cocking.

Derek shoots up grabbing Harper's arm helping her up and practically dragging her through the house as they bolt for the door.

Multiple gunshots rang through the air the two run through the woods away from their home they come to a stop, Harper breathing heavy.

Derek turns to her "I told you to stay put!" his voice raises, a mix of anger and worry behind his eyes.

Harper scoffs "why, so I can stand there and watch as someone shoots you!" she hollers back just as loud.

"you could've been killed!" Derek yelled.

"And so could have you!" she shot "and I can't lose anyone else alright, I won't lose anyone else" her face fell at her own words almost sadness covering her features causing Derek's gaze to soften.
