~First Date~

Branch sat alone in his bunker, staring at the roof. He was feeling mixed emotions. He was super nervous and yet very excited at the same time. Tonight he was going to have his first date with Poppy. He wanted to make it perfect, and hopefully not too cheesy. He didn't wanna look like a dork in front of the love of his life. That would be embarrassing and unfortunate for sure.

He was also glad Poppy had time for him. Lately, she's been really busy with getting the other tribes acquainted with Pop Village. He felt like all that was more important than him. The tribes hadn't been reunited in a bunch of years, so this must have been a huge moment for her. The tribes had only reunited two weeks ago at the end of the world tour. That day was a day Branch would NEVER forget.

That day was the day that him and Poppy fell in love. Just thinking about it made his heart race in happiness. He smiled and sighed, thinking about it, an unknown blush appearing on his face. Today was going to be perfect! Or so he hoped... What if everything went wrong? What if Poppy thought he was a dork and left him?! Then Branch started to panic, again... -.-

He was having a harder time than he was supposed to. This job really wasn't as hard as he was letting on, given that it was easy to please a troll, especially one of the most sunniest ones in the whole village. He sighed and stared up at the roof, worried. He hoped everything would go right tonight...

Poppy on the other hand wasn't worrying one bit. She was very excited for her first date with Branch that just thinking about it gave her butterflies. She sighed dreamily, thinking about him and all the things he'd done for her. But then, her smile turned into a frown as she remembered at the world tour, how Branch had sacrificed himself for her...

~FLASHBACK...~

"Too late loverboy! You missed your chance"' Barb said, an evil smiled appearing on her face as she played the powerchord, heading directly towards Poppy. Poppy gasped and squinted her eyes, covering her face, praying for the best.

Branch felt his heart stop when he saw the evil bolt of lightning rush towards his crush. He didn't want to lose her. No matter what, he'd sworn to himself that he'd protect her. Then, he whipped the captain's hat off his head and extended his hair towards a bar so he could grip on and make it in time to save her. Branch would be willing to save her anytime possible, even at the cost of his own life. And this time, it just might have been.

Once he got in line with the bolt and Poppy, he held out his arms, blocking the bolt of lightning so it wouldn't get to her.

Then...

it hit him...

"BRANCH!!" Poppy yelled, choking back tears. She couldn't believe he just did that! He sacrificed himself for her. Then, Poppy saw everything so clearly. She knew everything about their relationship. That fight was a horrible mistake. He didn't mean it. Everything was so clear... Even though it came out in a harsh matter, he was just trying to get through to her so she could listen. He didn't mean any bad thing he said!

He loved her!!

Poppy then felt tears sting her eyes. If only she'd noticed sooner. Poppy felt like she wanted to hurt herself. She couldn't take a hint when given one! Now everything was lost. Her heart failed a beat. She couldn't believe this had happened.

"BRANCH PLEASE NO!!!" Poppy choked.

"I..." She sniffed, "I love you..!"

~...END OF FLASHBACK~

Poppy then sniffed and felt something wet fall down her cheek. She then wiped it and breathed heavily, she was crying! This horrid memory of the world tour that had only happened two weeks ago continually passed her mind. Everytime she remembered it, she felt like she was going to cry. It was the most saddest memory she'd had aside from the time she'd lost hope when they were in the giant pot about to be eaten by the bergens.

Poppy then sighed and looked over at her clock and then smiled. It was almost time for her first date with Branch. She then felt her face get warm as she blushed, thinking about him. She then felt giddy with excitement as she ran to get ready.

Branch sighed and looked at his clock and gasped, it was almost time for his date with Poppy. He started to panic, he wasn't even ready!!! He ran to get dressed and ready. He looked through his outfits and complained to himself about how he didn't get ready earlier. He felt like such a fool! Branch then sighed and finally pulled out and outfit. He then quickly put it on and dashed out of his room.

Poppy on the other hand was not rushing herself. She had time. She was busy putting on some makeup and getting ready. Once she was done, she looked at the clock.

"Welp, better get going!" She said to herself, standing up and walking out of her pod to go meet up with Branch.

Branch had rushed himself, but he was finally ready. Then he sighed, walking over to the bunker elevator. He then thought about Poppy and some things and he smiled, feeling himself warm up. She made him so happy, and he couldn't wait to spend tonight with her. Then he sighed and ascended up to the top of his bunker to go meet Poppy.

Poppy was skipping through the empty dimly lit village. Seeing this made her feel a sense of calm for some reason. Even though there were no trolls out. Then, she slowly started to make her way closer to Branch's bunker, feeling more butterflies the more she got closer. She looked up at the stars and smiled, tonight was going to be amazing!

Once he arrived to the top, Branch ran away from his bunker and ran to meet Poppy. He ran and ran until...

he bumped into someone.

Both trolls fell over and groaned in pain. Then, they sat up and shook their heads, staring at each other.

"Branch?"

"Poppy?"

"W-What are you doing here?" Branch said.

"I was gonna ask you the same question!" Poppy said, giggling.

Branch sighed and smiled, "Well that saves me a trip to the other side of the village,"

Poppy laughed and smiled. Then, both trolls just looked at each other, losing themselves.

This went on for as long as they could remember...

Then, Branch realized when he was doing and blushed madly, looking away from Poppy. Poppy noticed too and she also did the same thing, but smiling adorably while she did.

"Well, you ready?" Branch asked, smiling shyly.

Poppy smiled and nodded enthusiastically, "Yep!!"

Branch then held out his hand to her and she held it. She gave a cute smile to him and his blush appeared again. Poppy giggled a bit and started running, dragging him along.

"WAIT WHERE ARE WE GOING!?!" Branch asked.

Poppy then stopped running, "I...

I have no Idea ._."

Branch rolled his eyes playfully. She blushed of embarrassment but then laughed.

"Follow me," Branch said, leading her somewhere. "Oh yeah! And close your eyes!" Branch places one of his hands over her eyes and she smiled of excitement.

"Oooo! Suspense! I like it~" >:3

Branch laughed and continued to lead her along. The more he got closer, the more his heart raced, and the more he became nervous. Would she even like it? No- It was too late to think about that now. He just had to hope for the best.

Once they had arrived, he sighed and uncovered her eyes, which she'd closed before.

Branch waited a bit...

she didn't open her eyes.

Branch laughed, "Umm you can open your eyes!"

"Oh yeah right I knew that-" Poppy joked, opening her eyes. When she opened them, she gasped in surprise, which made Branch nervous.

Branch had found a spot in the village she'd never seen before. It was so pretty! The trees were coated with luminescent and pretty gems, same with the bushes. There were soft glowing hanging lights and even the moon was seen.

"OH MY GOSH BRANCH ITS SO PRETTY I LOVE IT!!!" Poppy squealed.

Branch sighed of relief, "That's good. I'm glad you like it," he smiled sweetly.

Poppy smiled and the took his hand and dragged him along.

~In a nearby bush~

A troll squealed.

"EEK BROPPY-"

"Ugh why am I here again? I don't wanna watch them! I had plans!"

"YOU'RE NEVER HERE ITS GOOD TO FIND OUT WHAT WE LIKE TO DO-"

"Ugh Pop trolls istg-" 😐

"WHOS GOT THE POPCORN-"

"RIGHT HERE!" A voice commented, followed by a laugh.

"AIGHT WHOS GOT A CAMERA ITS THEIR FIRST DATE AND I WANNA REMEMBER THIS FOREVER!!"

"Umm- I brought my camera?"

"Meep-" 😐

"Thank you!" 🥺

~Back with Poppy and Branch~

"Umm did you hear something?" Branch asked.

Poppy giggled, "Oh you're so paranoid~"

Branch sighed.
