Dear Reggie (Reggie x Reader)

(IDK I JUST LIKE THE SONG)

Dear Reggie,

I haven't talked to you in a while. You've been so busy with the band and everything that I don't know if you get my phone calls or constant attempts to get your attention. It's been approximately one hundred and fifteen days since I have talked to you. Your summer tour is coming up with Alex, Luke, and Bobby. I bought a backstage pass for the first concert in the Orpheum. I hope to see you there.

But the purpose of this letter is to tell you that I am in love with you. From the moment we met when we were five, I have been so in love with you, Reginald. Even after you teased me, even after you left me. Even after you broke my heart and moved away. I know you had family issues and I know we weren't as close this past year. But I feel like it was my fault.

Please reply Reg. I want to talk to you and I never meant to say what I said. I love you with all my heart. Remember that. Hopefully, I'll see you soon.

Love (Y/n)(Y/l/n)

---

You looked at the letter you wrote Reggie. You had written that more than twenty years ago. Reggie had died a few days after you had written the letter. He never got it. And you never got him. You had cried so much. Your lover and your best friends were gone. You should have tried harder.

It was now 2020 and you still blamed yourself. But you grew. You married Reggie's old bandmate, Bobby, and then divorced him soon after. Bobby was now Trevor. He stole Luke's songs and your memories. You had a daughter but never really got to know her.

You had moved in with Ray Molina and his family after Rose's death to help Julie and Carlos. It was also the house where Reggie and the band rehearsed.

Some nights you could have sworn you heard Reggie. When Ray announced that they were moving, you decided to help Julie clean out the loft in the garage. You had found some of the guy's old clothes and Luke's songbook.

Julie decided to play the Sunset Curve demo. You started humming along to the lyrics when a screeching noise broke through. You heard yelling. You saw three figures drop down from the ceiling. Julie looked at you in disbelief.

You looked like you were going to cry. "Reggie?" You asked one person.

"How do you know my name?" He asked.

"It's me, Y/N." You replied.

"Y/N? But you're so old." Reggie stood up and so did the guys. They got a good look at you.

"How did we end up back here?" Luke asked, breaking the silence.

"I don't know. It sure is good to see you." You say.

"Wait who are you? Y/n, do you know them?" Julie asks you. You forgot she was there. You were so happy to see the guys.

"There were my friends. They died in 1995." You reply so casually.

"Wait, what year is it then?" Alex asks.

"It's 2020," Julie says.

"Wait, so I have been crying for 25 years? How is that possible?" Alex exclaims.

"How old are you Y/n?" Reggie askes you, curious.

"I'm going to be forty next month." You smile. You clearly felt old. You were seeing your dead boyfriend and his bandmates.

"Wait is this your daughter?" Luke asks you as he looks at Julie. You could see he was making puppy eyes at her and you laughed.

"No this is my friend's daughter, my daughter is with her father." You reply.

"Wait, you have a daughter? With who? When? How?" Reggie asks.

"You remember Bobby? Well, he and I got married then divorced but we have a daughter together. Her name is Carrie. I haven't exactly talked to her. I live with Ray and his kids now." You reply.

"Wait, I thought you were married to Trevor?" Julie asks.

"Yeah, well he changed his name. Not that smart." You reply. "Sit down boys, we have a lot to talk about."

You sat down with the boys and Julie and finally explained your past. You talked about the letter all the way to the present day, how you met Rose at the Orpheum and was introduced to Bobby. How you thought you loved him but he betrayed you. Your selfish daughter. Your best friend's death and moving in with Ray.

But sitting there, your life felt complete for the first time. Even if you were talking to your dead friends with your other friend's daughter, you felt whole. Your life was complete and you were happy.
