sadie has long, wavy hair the color of warm copper. she usually keeps it down just the way it is, sometimes (but rarely) curling it for a little more of a polished look. her eyes are a slate blue-grey, striking against her suntanned skin and shock of freckles. those freckles cover practically every inch of her skin, which is also dotted with tattoos, few of which are usually visible. among the visible ones, one is tucked behind her ear—a delicate little rose. it often goes unnoticed. she has an infinity symbol on the side of her wrist, a sun design based loosely around flower on the bicep of the same arm, and a string of flowers on the wrist of her opposite arm. the hidden ones are more intimate. some have meaning to sadie, like the tattoo tracing the curve under her breast—'this is a precious moment. it is a little parenthesis in eternity'—a quote she took from one of her favorite books, the alchemist. most of the others are purely sexual, such as the one on her upper inner thigh that reads, 'mine,' or the one on the arch of her foot—'lick me.'
✢ backstory ✢
sadie doesn't know who she is or where she came from. as a child, she grew up on the streets of dublin, falling in with pseudo-gangs comprised of other homeless children. they stole to survive, and by the time she was a teenager, sadie became a skilled pickpocket hiding behind a pretty smile.
that might have been what caught his attention—her first boyfriend. he was older than her, a tattoo artist, and a low-level gang member from a legitimate gang. sadie should have known he was dangerous—but when he gave her little white pills and taught her how to crush and snort them, she just did as he said. when he moved onto cocaine, she embraced her highs. when he covered her body in tattoos, she let it happen, chasing the drug. when he began to give her 'assignments' to earn her cocaine, she was dependent enough to do it. it was easy to remind herself that, because of him, she was warm, well-fed, safe, and happy. but before long, the cocaine didn't work as well as it had used to. he began to use it against her; as her sole provider, he had the power to withhold it when they fought or when she didn't do as he said or steal enough money for his liking.
then sadie became desperate. she began to make mistakes—she robbed the wrong things from the wrong people and found herself in prison. sadie was lucky enough to only be convicted of robbery and had a plea deal that would allow her to serve two years in a rehab facility. and that's exactly what she did.
after rehab, she was committed to turning her life around. on government support, she was able to survive until she joined the dublin police force, becoming an addiction and gang-activity advisor for her unit.
when she heard about operation vixen, she jumped at the opportunity and left for america.
✢ motivations ✢
sadie is driven, first and foremost, by her need to stay clean. despite having been off drugs for six years now, she still gets cravings, still feels the side effects of her addiction. she's so much happier without the drugs, but it's so hard to continue to stay away. the doctors said it would be this way, but they also promised that, eventually, the cravings would fade. sadie just keeps holding out for that day.
her second motivation is her job. operation vixen is important to her—endlessly important. the sex doesn't matter to her, not as long as she'll be bringing down the cartel and its criminal activity and promotion of drug abuse. after all, she'd had sex and done all sorts of dirty work for her boyfriend to get her hands on her drugs. she would gladly do this to stop another girl like her from living a nightmare the way she had.
her third motivation is her education. after having a childhood that lacked such things as books, biology, and world history, and wants to learn as much as she can. when she's not working, she's probably reading.
