elsie is a perfectionist in the fullest sense of the word. everything she does, everything she is, must be perfect. and it is. but it isn't, not really, and that fact drives her nuts. so elsie is generally very tightly wound. she worries over everything—she agonizes over the smallest problems or imperfections.

so, understandably, she isn't the easiest to be around. she'd judgmental, but never combative—elsie is much too quiet to voice her discomfort if she feels like she's about to snap. she doesn't show her anger or stress or any of it, really—but her eyes give it away. they look a little bit wider when she's upset—it's very deer-in-headlights, like she's surprised by her emotion.

elsie sees the beauty in everything. it's why she loves performing. ballet is her world, because she is close to perfectly it, and it's just so beautiful—to be able to get lost in the music and feel herself embody somebody else allows her to let go. so on stage, whether she's dancing or singing, she's an entirely different person. she's wild and free, exhilarated, and unafraid to make mistakes, for as long as she's caught up in her passion for the art.

plus, she loves the attention. elsie enjoys when all eyes are on her—she wants to be the person people talk about, because that means she's number one, and she wants to be number one.

when she isn't onstage, such wildness is rare. but when she's with her friends, they do change her a bit—she'll let down her hair the slightest bit (sipping a mixed drink at a party! way to go babe), enjoy herself more. it's why she craves being around her friends—they show a different side of her, a snippet of the person she wishes she could be.

to a certain extent, elsie does envy the girls who feel free to be whoever they want and do whatever (and whoever) they wish. but elsie could never be that way. so she resigns herself to watching those girls from afar, and slowly falling for them, and thinking of them at night with her hand between her legs, then striking them from her mind.

her dream role is odette. so far, she's only gotten the chance to dance the pas de trois and its variations during the swan lake performances at her summer intensives.
