"Can i ask you one more question," he said breaking the silence.

I didn't answer, so he took it as a yes and that made him continue speaking.

He didn't wait for me to say anything back. He just got straight to the point.

"Do you have feelings for me?"

I get tensed for a moment then relaxed.

"Not anymore..." I mutter an answer.

i brush his hand off my shoulder and walk straight to my cabin.

He was heartbroken by the answer. The pain of rejection crept up on him like a cold knife plunging into his heart. All those times he spent with her and he had thought those feelings were mutual. What was he supposed to do now? He was so confused. He had no choice but to let you go. He couldn't force you to feel that way but it hurt like crazy.

He stood up and was about to turn around to walk back to his cabin but one thought stopped him in his tracks. He couldn't leave you like this. He had to make sure you were okay.

He decided to go you to your cabin, and when he got there, he did the secret knock on your door to make sure you knew it was him.

The door remained closed and after a minute or two. He knocked again and this time he heard rustling inside like someone was going to the door.

Finally, he heard the latch of the lock and the hinges of the door and the door slowly creaked open and there was you...

Once you saw him you quickly closed the door and he didn't want to force his way in, he felt awful that you didn't even want to see him. But he couldn't just let you shut him out like this. Your response to his question seemed fake to him, he thought you were lying because he believed in his heart that there was still a chance you did had feelings for him. So he pressed on and talked through the door. "Can I just talk to you for a minute?"

You sigh. After a few seconds you opened the door again. "Come in," I let him in and closed the door behind him.

He sighed a breath of relief when he saw you open the door. The two of you were now alone together.

A deep silence filled the air, neither one of you spoke. Everything felt awkward, the tension was thick. Neither one of you knew what to say. You were both waiting for the other to speak first.

The silence became so loud it was deafening. Both of you were just staring at each other trying to figure out the right words to say. It felt like hours had passed but really only minutes had. Finally, he was the one who couldn't take it anymore so he spoke. "Why did you lie to me just now?"

We had a distance between each other.

"Lie about what," I asked knowing what i lied about.

He gave you a concerned look. "You know... when I asked you if you had feelings for me. You said no but I know that you were lying. I heard it in your voice, and you avoided answering me whenever i asked about liking someone, didn't you?"

You avoided all eye contact with him and still keep your distance. You didn't say anything. You didn't know what to say.

Your avoidance told him all he needed to know. He stepped forward and closed the distance between you two. He couldn't stand the fact that you two were so far away and kept avoiding each other. He wanted you close by, and that's when he spoke again. "Look at me."

You refused to look at him, "I don't want to like you..."

"Is that why you are pushing me away," He asked, noticing that you still wouldn't look up and kept your distance.

He didn't know why you were doing this, you two were so close, so what happened?

You really didn't know what to say cause you had no answer. You knew an answer but scared of embarrassment.

He decided not to continue talking. Instead he stepped closer to you and gently lifted your chin to make sure you were facing him, "I want to know why. Why are you pushing me away like this..."

You decided to come clean, "I did like you. A lot. Everyone knew that, but you didn't and i found out that you were in love with annabeth this entire time and it broke me. I was embarrassed. I just liked you a lot and it..." you paused not knowing what else to say.

He was taken aback by this. He wasn't aware that a lot of people knew you liked him. His face lit up with surprise when you said that your feelings were strong. He began feeling guilt wash over him the moment he realised he broke your heart.

"I'm so sorry..." He said with so much remorse in his voice. It hurt his heart that he made you feel that way and he had no idea about it until you told him yourself. But he knew now, he knew what he had to do to fix this..

He stepped closer to you and gently held your hands as he spoke, "Listen, I don't love Annabeth that way. I don't like her like how I like you. Annabeth is my friend. We just spent some time together for awhile because I started liking you. I was scared of rejection. She knew that I liked you. Wherever you heard that I was in love with annabeth is not true..."

I carefully listen to his words. "But.. my friend wouldn't lie to me like that unless she heard you wrong," i said mainly talking to myself, but ended up saying out loud.

"I did talk about annabeth earlier today, but it was not about me liking her like that," he said trying to help me get an ease mind.

I nod slowly trying to understand if it was believable enough to brush off. It didn't make sense, but i trust percy.

"I honestly don't even know how you didn't find out that i like you," he said. "Maybe you're just better at hiding it," i shrugged.

"Guess you could learn that one day," he said jokingly. I roll my eyes at his comment. He just laughed.

"Are you saying that i was upset for no reason," i said sounding so stupid right now.

He chuckled, "Well..."

I nudge him playfully and laugh. "Well i guess i accidentally confessed... in a way," I said.

"Yeah you did, but at least i know it's not one-sided anymore," he smiled widely as he felt an inner strength building up in him.

"So.. you like me back?"

"I like you more than you know."

I smile softly.

He came closer to me and engulfed me in a tight hug. I wrapped my arms around him as well.

"I don't want you ever feeling that way. I couldn't stand you avoiding me since you came back from the quest," he admitted. "I'm sorry, percy," i said.

We pulled away from the hug.

He wasn't sure if you noticed but he was beaming with joy. Soon you were finally going be his and no doubt about that made him euphoric. You were going to be his and he was going to be yours. Everything was finally working out. He looked at you, the way your soft and delicate features were illuminated by the moonlight through the window as the glow of the moon reflected off of your angelic face.

One day, he's going to ask you out as he finally learned that you both reciprocated the feelings. Right now, he was just happy to be in your presence and being able to have you in his arms.
