"WHY are we carving pumpkins when halloween's already over?", shigaraki asked.
hoshimi and shigaraki were currently at aizawa's house. it was thanksgiving day and hoshimi had suggested to let them take care of dinner.
aizawa of course agreed and went back to sleep, letting them have at it in the kitchen.
"because!! we're gonna make pumpkin pie. one of my dad's favorites", hoshimi replied.
"then why are we carving faces on them?", shigaraki asked as hoshimi tried to carve her cats. key word, tried.
"because what's the fun in making pumpkin pie if you don't carve some pumpkins first??"
shigaraki raised an eyebrow at hoshimi. she looked up at shigaraki, sighing.
"okay fine. it's because I wanted to carve pumpkins for halloween but totally forgot to. so I'm living the experience now!"
shigaraki smiled. he continued scooping the guts out of the pumpkin, making the inside of it hallow.
"imma miss you, milo and lilo", hoshimi pouted as she stabbed the pumpkin with a knife.
"okay then", said shigaraki as he also stabbed the pumpkin. he didn't know what he was doing as he's never had to cook before, so he was just following what hoshimi was doing.
"now we dice em up and throw it into a pot to let it simmer!!", hoshimi said as she started skinning and chopping the pumpkins up.
shigaraki chopped real slow, as he was in fear of chopping one of his fingers off.
"now, I'm going to take care of the rest of the dishes. just wash the turkey okay?", hoshimi asked.
shigaraki just nodded as he took the thawed turkey out from its wrap. hoshimi started skinning potatoes and mushing them up.
shigaraki took a bowl and put the turkey in it. he then filled the bowl with water and squirted some soap on it. he then washed it, just like hoshimi had told him to.
"okay tomura. can you add some salt and the seasoning I made on it? it's over there on the counter", hoshimi said, pointing to said counter.
she then started making some homemade jam, as she aspired to grow her own natural berries one day.
shigaraki took some, what looked like salt, and dumped it onto the turkey. he then saw the seasoning that hoshimi made and also dumped it on there.
"once you're done, put it in the oven at 400 degrees. set a timer for 4 hours", hoshimi instructed.
shigaraki did as told and set an alarm on his phone. he then watched hoshimi continue cooking.
it was weird, as when kurogiri cooked for him at home, shigaraki didn't even bat an eye. but when hoshimi cooked, it was amusing to him.
"alright. the rest of the dishes are ready!!", hoshimi exclaimed at she moved all 5 dishes onto the kitchen island.
hoshimi took a spoon and scooped up some mashed potatoes.
"open wideee~". to make shigaraki even more embarrassed, hoshimi made an airplane noise as she fed the mashed potatoes into his mouth.
"like it?", hoshimi asked.
shigaraki just nodded his head. he couldn't wait for hoshimi to try the turkey he made, even though he just poured all the ingredients on there.

after hours of watching disney movies on disney plus, the turkey was finally ready.
hoshimi went upstairs to go wake up her dad and bring him downstairs for dinner.
aizawa sat down beside hoshimi, who was also beside shigaraki.
hoshimi cut the odd looking turkey up, giving both turkey thighs to shigaraki and her father.
"thanks", they both said quietly.
aizawa took a bite of the turkey and immediately coughed it out. shigaraki followed suit, immediately drinking water to wash that nasty flavor out.
"w-what's wrong?", hoshimi asked, taking a bite of the turkey piece that aizawa had.
she took a small nibble and immediately took a napkin to spit it out.
"why does it taste like chemicals, sugar, and a mix of spice??"
shigaraki's head dipped. he looked down at his clenched hands as he realized he put sugar instead of salt.
aizawa and hoshimi looked over at shigaraki.
"it's fine kid. I don't like turkey that much anyways. chicken's better", aizawa said.
hoshimi patted shigaraki's back. part of her wanted to laugh, but another part of her knew that she should comfort him first.
"now now, it's only your first turkey. there's many more to come! plus, thanksgiving isn't just all about eating turkey. it's about spending quality family time and being thankful", hoshimi said.
shigaraki looked up.
"s-so y'all aren't mad??"
"hello, kfc? yes, I'd like to order two buckets of chicken", aizawa said to his phone.
"of course not", hoshimi answered, smiling.
"now, let's say one thing we're each grateful of before eating".
"I'm grateful for cats", aizawa said as he dug in.
"I'm grateful for my family, friends, and you", hoshimi said, looking at shigaraki.
aizawa thought he was going to gag.
"I'm grateful for...the food...umm...toga and twice are okay. and you both for inviting me over to dinner", shigaraki said.
all three dug in, as they waited for kfc to deliver their chicken.
even though all for one loved his son, he wasn't able to always spend time with him since he was always away on business trips.
so almost every holiday, shigaraki would spend it with kurogiri. as even toga, twice, and dabi had families to be with and a home to go to.
shigaraki watched as the two aizawas ate their food. shigaraki held hoshimi's hand under the table, smiling at her.
hoshimi just looked up, with a bit of sauce on the corners of her mouth.
"hm?"
shigaraki shook his head. he grabbed a napkin and wiped her mouth.
"nothing", he said.
shigaraki was just grateful. grateful that he got to spend thanksgiving dinner with his girlfriend and her father.
"thank you for everything", shigaraki muttered underneath his breath.
