SUMMARY
If you were to ask Sarah Cameron if she believed in love at first sight she'd tell you yes, for one reason and one reason only.

Marigold Turner. Known for her quote on quote unrealistic dreams of going to Juliard. She couldn't possibly be able to explain her passion for dance. You can say it comes from her parents, who both grew up close to a jazz club. Which is actually how Lisa and Clyde Turner met but that's a story for another day.

Despite being a pogue, no one could ever deny that she was gifted. People would show up to bonfires and parties for the soul sake of seeing her at her prime, to have a taste of her talent.

Now here's how Sarah and Marigolds' story started. You see Marigold grew up in both worlds. Having friends from The Cut to growing up on Figure 8. Her parents were pogues but worked their way up and bought a beautiful house on Figure 8. Their connection to The Cut lies with the friends and family they still have their and their childrens friends as well. From game nights to sleepovers, Y/ns friendships always remained strong, not only because of her overall kind demeanour but also for her parents welcoming attitude towards her friends.

Marigold growing up on Figure 8 meant that she'd go to the school for all the kooks, rich snobby assholes she wasn't very fond of. She didn't like the school for sure but going there meant she was one step closer to Juliard. Sarah Cameron had known about the young Turners existence for years but the first time she truly spoke to her, truly saw her was when she helped some freshman around the school when they had gotten lost. Everyone else had ignored them or laughed at them.

That was the moment that Sarah truly began to see Marigold, understood how her brain worked, the joy she'd find in dancing, her silent hobby of drawing and painting, how she'd sometimes go dance along the beaches admiring Mother Nature.

You see Sarah was working up the courage to actually ask her out or at least get to know her. Apart from the waves, greetings and hyping up at events and parties neither knew anything about the other.

Sarah just wanted to know every inch of her. Her mind, body and soul. What fueled her kind and thoughtful heart, what her sense of humour was, why she was friends with pogues to begin with the list goes on.

However Sarah screwed up the day she was auditioning for the Julliard summer school programme. Marigold was positioned by the stage preparing and doing her usual stretches and making sure her pointe shoes are tied. Then the text message she gets ruined all her chances.

She knows she shouldn't have however the familiar alert was from her parents. Whatever the text said messed with her head to the point where she screwed up her turn combo and embarrassed herself in front of everyone who'd taken the time to come see her.

To top it all off, Marigold heard too many people making fun of her for her failure to do the one thing she was good at but for some odd feeling, hearing Sarah Cameron join in with the mocking and teasing made things worse. She couldn't understand why the mean words of the blonde who was just going along with what everyone was saying hurt her so much but something changed that day.

No one knows what happened but all they know is that Lisa and Clyde Turner were declared missing the same afternoon of her performance. Something changed that day for our dearest Marigold. That spark in her eye vanished. Her usual level of kindness was so bare that most people couldn't recognize her.

The only way Sarah could get Marigold to talk to her would have to be through teasing and jokes towards her which often made her snap. The only way. Because Marigold Turner never took anyone shit. So over time, with the addition of her best friends fight with Sarah, she began to truly despise the blonde girl.

But if banter was the only way she'd converse with Sarah, then so be it.

After all, fate has its methods of bringing people together.

- Low-key Sarah's approach to Marigold is inspired by Aaron Blackford in The Spanish Love Deception ( where he messed up and knows the only way he could hear Catalina's voice would be by them arguing because he'd rather have her hate him and say things back than her never speak to her )

- Marigolds parents were friends with Pope, John B and Kiaras parents

- So she's known those 3 since she was tiny

- They never liked the kook adults because they know how unethical their methods to have that much power were

- Sarah has felt bad about that day for so long but she doesn't know how to apologise to her

- So the best she can do is just annoy her and get her rilled up and Sarah will take that because of how the rest of the Kooks treated her

- There are scenes that happen with John B and Sarah that have been replaced with Marigold

- Her bond with the pogues: John B, Pope and Kiara have been explained

- JJ is like her platonic soulmate . She was one of the first people who knew about his father.

- She's let him stay over hundreds of times whenever he didn't feel safe or when he didn't want to be alone

- She's always been able to cheer him up, by dancing sessions, movie nights or cuddling

- He's also very protective over her

- She also sometimes lends him some of her brain cells

- Their sense of humour is so iconic iwl

- The pogues actually snuck into the look school to watch her audition and saw the mess up
