𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲

The clock was ticking, there were only 4 hours till the 4th of July, the day that the group of 16 teenagers were destined to die.

The team weren't really that worried though. That may sound like a suprise but let me tell you why. They had managed to get into the Diamond which had a couple files which they would go though later.

But they were currently looking for the most important one. Leo and Jake had a theory that there might be something for the owner of MD industries that could explain why the Diamond was here in the first place.

Cassie had been thinking for awhile, about a lot of things. She had been thinking about Xander, alot more than she should or intended to. She had been thinking about her brother who still hadn't woken up yet and it scared her. But the one thing that had been lingering on her mind for the past few days was July 4th.

How this would be her first July 4th without Barry. Her first one in 2 years with her old friends. But quite possibly their last.

She wasn't really sure if the plan would work especially due to what she discovered about post their death and why they weren't identifiable. She had managed to get Vince to tell her why. It was something worse than death.

Some how the explosion sends a shock wave through time, erasing the memories of every single person who had ever shared one with them from acquaintances to lovers including data, dna birth certificates you name it.

Their memories would dust away, burned to ash.

When Vincent showed Cassie the article, to say she was shocked would be an understatement. She was distraught.

Cassiopeia Allen was distraught that their death was to save Central City and that no one would ever know it was them. She was distraught because she would lose her friends again. She was distraught because they would die an excruciating painful death.

But Cassiopeia Allen was most distraught because the bad guys won. They won. They succeeded at their goal at hand.

To erase those 16 teenagers from the minds of everyone that had ever met them.

Everyone that had ever met them.

Everyone that had ever loved them.

Their death would mean nothing. There would be no funerals. No burials. No one to visit their graves for the sense of nostalgia. No one that would give half a damn about these 16 teenagers.

This wasn't the plan at all.

Cassiopeia Allen wasn't supposed to join a group of young vigilantes that save their city, their home. All they wanted to do was survive a world where the impossible became possible.

All the wanted to do was learn to control their powers and make it through this metahuman charade. Instead their brace hearted demeanor gave these courageous teenagers a change of heart and turned them into something extraordinary.

That explosion that happened in December 2013 didn't just give these kids powers.

It bought a family back together. United them once again. Mended the wounds that had been opened in the years before with closure and comfort.

They had their ups and downs but in the end, every single one of those teenagers loved eachother. They would take bullets for eachother that's for sure.

What once was a bleeding mess in their relationship had been stitched back together with the moments that they had spent together.

Each and every one of those teenagers had healed more than bled in these past months, with warm hearts and pearly smiles.

They were happier than ever before.

And with that Cassiopeia new, 1 life instead of 16 was worth it. So Cassiopeia came up with a plan.

In case it all went to shit.

Luisa was down in the Bunker along with Leo, Emma, Vincent and Jake, trying to decipher some of these files. Looking for the most important one.

Where were the others you ask. They had gone on a food run while the other five stayed, updating them every few minutes.

"Hey guys I think I found something!" Luisa called as her fingers slowed down on the keyboard.

"This is it?" Emma asked her friend as the boys came and gathered around them.

"Yeah it is. We did it!" Lu sighed in relief before the group joined into a hug.

"Okay quickly save those things onto the drive before doing anything else. I'm gonna text the others telling them the news." Vincent instructed before walking away to make a call.

Luisa had started the download and it had been a few minutes making the progress at 90%. Vincent had just walked back from the call when piercing sounds of the Alarms filled the basement making the normal still lights turn to bright red flashing lights.

"What the hell is going on?!" Leo shouted as he cupped his hands over his ears.

"Someones here." Luisa told them in realization when she looked at the surveillance footage.

They turned around to see man in a yellow suit. The same man that Vincent had been calling his former boss. The man that he knew could end his life without question.

"Run!" Jake screamed before the four out of the five split off into the direction of the armoury while Luisa typed as fast as she could to secure the Diamond, but he was faster.

He ran and grabbed Luisa by the neck, lifting her off the ground and squeezed it making the Hispanic girl struggle and hit the man repetitively to gain just a second of air.

"You should know not to mess with destiny." He taunted as Luisa looked at his face which was impossible to see clearly.

The moment he finished his sentence he threw her across the room making her hit one on of the walls, losing consciousness.

Emma along with the boys sprinted back with some of the prototype blasters and tried blasting this really fast guy but he dodged ever round. He had enough, he started running in a circle causing a harsh breeze of wind to fill the room. That pushed them against the walls behind them and their blasters to go somewhere across the room.

He then ran over to where Vincent was. "I should kill you now for what you've done. But your destiny will come its only a matter of time." The man taunted as he held up his hand which was phasing inches away from the chest of the petrified 15 year old before running out the Bunker leaving the five teenagers on the ground in the basement with so much damage.

The others returned a few minutes later to find a trashed up Bunker and the five teenagers in concerning condition.

"Oh my Gosh! Guys what happened?" Gia asked when she saw the place.

"Lu?! Are you okay?" Ashton said as he ran to his girlfriend, who had woken up and was holding some Ice to the back of her head and pulled her into a protective hug.

"I'm okay. My head just hurts." She mumbled into his chest.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Venus exclaimed making everyone turn over to her.

"What?" Xander asked.

"Who ever broke in here took the diamond. And theres an hour left." Venus stuttered as chills rose up her spine.

This was it. There was no avoiding it now.

"Okay um Lu call Lukas and Ashley tell them to meet us in the woods the rest of us need to suit up now and get ready for the fight of our lives." Cassie instructed before they all broke into their tasks.

Their hearts pounded as they slipped on the materials and buckled their blades. As they cocked their guns and sharpened their blades. As they slipped on their leather masks for what will be the last time. As they choked back tears of fear and regret before marching into the elevator.

As they stood beside eachother in that small space they held hands as a silent but effective way to show their love and gratitude for eachother.

They had been searching through rooftops of Central City looking for where it could be. Then they returned back to the place where the inevitable was going to happen.

They were walking through the woods when they noticed a community event was happening.

"Guys we have a problem. They can't be anywhere near the blast range. We need to get them to leave. Now." Bailey insisted as she pointed to the several families sitting on picnic blankets.

Bailey, Cassie and Gia had gone ran off to see if they could find any cops nearby. They saw Joe West and Eddie Thawne in a cop car on patrol and quickly approached them.

"Detective West. We need you to clear this area." Bailey told her father in her distorted voice.

"May I ask why?"

"Theres no time to explain. We just need you to trust us please. Its urgent." Cassie assured her foster father in her distorted voice.

"Fine. But this better be worth it." Joe told the trio before telling the families that they had to pack up and gave them some bizarre reason.

"Thank you detective West, for everything." Cassie told him with more sentiment than normal causing him and his partner to get confused.

Back with the others who were still searching for the Diamond. Luisa had been trailing around looking in bushes and behind trees before a strong arm pulled her behind a huge one.

" Ash hey." She greeted, she honestly didn't know what to say. Her head was pounding to much for her to say anything logical.

"Hey. So this is really it huh. " He sighed as he leaned against the bark of the tree.

"Yeah I guess it is..." she paused.

"I love you!" They said simultaneously causing them to both chuckle.

"I don't know if I'll ever get to say it so I'm gonna say it now. I love you Ashton Smoak. Even though we've only dated for 4 months I think..." she rambled before Ashton cupped her right cheek and silenced her with a gentle kiss.

It was a slow lingering one that was filled with love and hope. Hope that he could spend more time with the girl he loved.

Bailey, Giovana and Cassie returned to find that no one had found the Diamond. They moved to another part of the woods closer to where the community event was, which was now clear.

They searched for a few moments before that same man from the Bunker ran and stood in front of all of them with the Diamond in his gloved hand.

"This is rich. Your time has come and who better to activate it than me." He taunted before taking off the glove from his other hand.

"Don't!" They all screamed but it was too late. He had placed the Diamond on the ground after holding it with his bare hands making it start flashing.

The man had gone now and the team was trying to get as close of the could to it but the light was too bright. They had all circled it now, rather close to it buy not to far.

Then an idea sparked in Hannah's mind she looked around at her team who knew what she meant just by the look in her eyes.

And so they did. They joined hands. The idea was that if they used their powers at the same time then they could try make some protective force field.

Giovana was struggling to reach hands with Ashley until another hand joined in. It was Vincent, who was joined by Alex, Emma, Leo and Jake who all groaned.

"We're all in this together remember." Emma quoted with a shout making a few of the team mates chuckle slightly.

The diamknd started flashing faster now and a harsh breeze was surrounding them and Cassie could feel the chemical energy radiating off it signaling that their time was coming.

" I love you guys! These have been the best 8 months of my life." Cassie said as her friends looked at her and smiled before thinking to herself, " Okay Cassie its go time."

She took a deep breath, knowing this would hurt like hell but it was worth it if she knew that hee friends would continue to live on.

She used a trick that she had been practicing as she focused on the energy of the Diamond and started to absorb it. A ray of energy shot into the her body from the Diamond as it filled her veins.

"CASSIE WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Luisa cried when she saw what her best friend was doing.

" She's absobring the energy from the Diamond. It'll stop the explosion hence..." Ashley started.

"Saving us." Venus finished as she watched her friends heroic acts.

"ITS KILLING HER!" Xander screamed as Cassie's screams filled the air.

"We have to let go!" Gia insisted.

"If we do. The Diamond will just explode sending a shock wave and destroy a hell lot of buildings and killing us along with hundreds of people." Emma informed.

"COME ON!!!" Cassie pushed, taking in more energy as blood came out her nose and ears and tears of blood trickled down her face, her veins were glowing now. That energy wasn't the stable kind and it was to much. Way to much.

"WE CAN'T JUST LET HER DIE." Gia snapped she saw her friends pain, you could see burn marks had formed from the heat right though the suit onto her skin.

Joseph West who wasn't too far from the sight could see what was going on. He didn't know if it just his papa bear side kicking in but he recognized those screams. "Please don't be you. Not you" he thought to himself.

The diamond started to dim down and the flashing stopped meaning the kids could let go. The second that happened Cassie collapsed to the ground as she started shaking violently as blood spewed from her mouth.

"Cassie. We need to get her out of here!" Luisa exclaimed as Xander picked her up bridal style.

"Come on stay with me Cas" he paused. " Cassie please stay with me." Xander begged.

The blonde girls eyes started drooping closed, the shaking stopped. It was like Bailey could feel her life force leaving making her along with the rest of her friends fill with panic as they ran back to the Bunker.

That was it. Cassiopeia Allen had just saved her friends lives...knowing it would end her own.

And that's how it ends :)))

The epilogue will be coming next Sunday. Just to give you guys a wait and you'll have to wait till mid July for book 2.
