TWENTY YEARS AGO

Yuri was a planet that was full of people, people who'd we call aliens. Which is true. Their not from Earth so they are.
But they aren't any kind of aliens.
They're evil.
In August of 1999 a very specific alien was given a very specific mission. She was to head down to Earth and get information about humans in order to set a plan to kill us.
Simple right?
You'd think so. The people of Yuri were told Earth was filled with vile creatures who were evil and the annihilation of them would help millions of others.
You'd probably think the people of Yuri would protest with such logic they have no proof of but they hadn't. The people of Yuri had done this a million times before to a million other planets. Blowing up other planets, taking their resources and going on to the next planet and doing the same thing.
It was Earths turn.
She was of age to go. They gave her her own rocket and everything. She was ready to go, her parents were so proud of her. She was proud of herself. Her name was Eris named after the planet her mother took over. She was planning to name her kid Earth but she didn't really like it. You're supposed to though, it's one of the rules of her planet.
She liked the name Nova, it reminded her of a Super Nova and they were amazing. She never really thought of having kids that often though mostly about this moment. Going to Earth and putting the bad guys to death and then getting recognized for it.
Her mom was incredibly famous because she'd taken over more than one. She looked up to her mom and this moment would let her prove herself to be just as great.
She got inside the rocket thinking one last time about her parents and then only concentrating on the mission. She pulled a lever allowing her to exit the room she'd been in, in her capsule.
Space was even more beautiful than the images she'd seen. She gasped at the millions of planets, so close to the stars. She wanted to break out the capsule and touch them. But she looked at the map that showed her the directions to Earth.
In the distance she noticed a blinding light, it looked like a sort of orange flame coming from somewhere. But it was unlike the others, it was more unusual. It had a pointed top and the bottom was rounded and then squared off. She'd never seen anything like it. She stared at it, amazed, it was something new.
When she looked forward she could see a massive asteroid coming for her. Quickly she pressed buttons in panic trying to move away from it but nothing was working. It was heading towards her coming faster and faster and faster.
The thing hit her sending her forward against the panel of her rocket. She tried to keep her eyes open but it was almost impossible. She couldn't focus on anything that was happening, she was losing her consciousness.
The last thing she'd heard in that moment had been, "Blast off. Back to planet Earth. NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies."

"It's day 18... the creature is well.. she's breathing. That's good. But she's still not awake despite the many tests that I put her through."
"It's day twenty three.. she's still breathing of course. I-I checked her DNA and it's certainly... different. The Antigens and Proteins seem to be made from something else, building an unfamiliar structure."
"It's now day twenty seven. The test subject has DNA I have never seen before. This-this might seem insane but I don't think the creature is from this planet. She might be an extra terrestrial-" he stopped speaking into the machine pressing it off to face me.
"Where am I?" I demanded to know at i held up a weapon against him, he gasped at me before stuttering.
"Y-you're on Earth. Your rocket crashed and I.. rescued you." He told me as I was amazed. Why would a human do such a thing? They are vicious and evil creatures.
"You're a liar. Humans wouldn't do such a thing."
"But I did!" He said confidently as I stared at him.
"Hmm..." I thought about it, but we were told all humans are the same and they can't change so how did he? He couldn't have. "You are a liar." I said holding the weapon further against him making him wince.
"I saved... your life." He said wincing in pain. Although he was a human he was right. He did save my life. I lowered my weapon.
"You did..."
"I did... and I've been studying you. What are you?" He asked as I became shocked.
"Studying me?! Are you trying to tell the world about me I knew you were a liar!" I accused as he shook his head.
"Of course not, when I found you you'd been hurt bad and no Human resources would help you so I figured find out what you are.. and I healed you." He said painting to a closed off patch on the side of my torso.
I touched it and winced in pain, "woah! Don't touch it! It's still heali-" he stopped talking at the sight of my hand glowing against the patch. Then I stopped. Took the patch off. And healed the damaged skin.
"How did you...?" He asked.
"You humans can't do that?" I asked curiously as he shook his head.
"No.. that would take weeks to heal for us." He admitted.
"That sucks." I said as he laughed.
"So are you... an.. alien?" He asked slowly as I nodded.
"I'm from a planet called Yuri. And we were kinda ordered to kill all humans..." I told him as he gasped, "but are all humans like you?" I questioned.
"No. Most are. But not all humans. Most are like me, they want to help people in this world. But some just want to hurt people." He explained as I nodded.
I felt it somewhere in my stomach, my body hummed, telling it to my brain, "I'm hungry."
He scampered around the small room looking for food, "Burger?" The thing was ugly, I shook my head.
"Pizza?" It was too weird looking.
"Tacos?" He asked as I gagged. All the food here was so odd.
"I'm out of ideas.." he trailed off before grabbing a small container out the freezer and started eating it. Finally the object called to my attention of hunger.
"What's that?" I asked amused.
"Oh.. it's ice cream." He said.
"Can I try some?" I asked as he nodded. I took the weird spoon and scooped up some in a quick motion, putting it in my mouth. The flavors melted in my mouth, it was so good. I started eating it faster and faster because it was so good.
"Wait maybe you shouldn't.." I ignored the guy as he looked at me cautiously.
A headache rose to my head, a sharp pain making me yell in agony. "What is this?! Is the ice cream attacking me?!" I yelled as he shook his head but I'd already shot it with my weapon leaving it in ashes.
"No.. that was a brain freeze."
"Why would something so good want to freeze my brain?" I asked seriously as he only laughed in response.

The man and the woman carried out their life like that. The man would leave for work every so often leaving her alone with the company of TV. The man had never mentioned one thing about her at his job, NASA working as one of the astronauts.
He was called to go out into space multiple times but he was afraid of what would happen to Eris if he hadn't come back. He was always giving up the chance of promotions, it meant longer hours, more time away from Eris.
But his boss had it with him and thought he'd just tried to be lazy so he fired him. Every single promotion he was offered was better than the last, even more of everything he wanted in life.
But when he thought about a job. And then he thought about Eris. He knew which one he really loved more. And it was her. So he didn't really care. He came home to her and the whole time she'd light up his world. They'd laugh, talk, eat ice cream. She'd blow stuff up.
Eris was anything but stupid though. She realized he never left anymore. He was always with her and she loved it but every now and then she could tell he wasn't happy.
One day she demanded to know why he left his job, which was the only explanation on why he didn't leave for it anymore. The two argued about what was important, she was stubborn and didn't want to agree with him even though her heart throbbed at the gesture.
She demanded to know why again before he'd kissed her, something she'd seen on TV with a guy and a girl. The girl couldn't live without the girl and cared for him more than anything, he called it "love".
She felt it too leading her to kiss him back. But then she stopped and he frowned at her. She couldn't kiss him anymore, they were too different, it couldn't scientifically work. She couldn't have a life with a family and kids and a dog like she'd seen on TV with him and it hurt her more than anything.
The scientist didn't care but she refused still. But then she got an idea that caused the worst kind of trouble. Make me human. She told him as he instantly said no. And the alien left the idea at that... for that day.
The next she'd say the same thing, they'd talk and she'd say it, they'd be laughing and she'd say it, eating and well she'd say it. The scientist grew tired of her asking and finally caved. The machine took them months to build, but they had fun doing it.
When it was finally done the scientist kissed Eris and let her inside the machine. It hummed on and he turned the buttons on. He inhaled a sharp breathe and pressed start. The machine started glowing, it was working, until it hummed louder and louder and shone brighter and brighter.
And it kept going, finally it stopped, shooting all the lights out in the room including it's own. The scientist ran to Eris with tears already in his eyes, pleading with her to wake up.
And she did.
They tested it out. She cut a small part of herself with a small knife looking at the blood that escaped from her arm. She placed her hand over it and concentrated on her powers. She pulled back her arm and the cut was still bleeding, it worked! The two yelled out joyously before she kissed the scientist and said I want a family.
And so he gave her one...
She'd been pregnant for 10 months. Her and the scientist frowned at her enlarged stomach. The scientist refused to give up hope though. She was now weeks pass due and she wanted to give up. She was never going to have a family, it was nothing but a dream.
She'd been watching TV, the family had just had another baby. She started crying at the fact that she couldn't even have one. She groaned again, it was the tenth time she'd had pains like this and they'd been coming back every few minutes and now seconds. The scientist entered dropping the ice cream he'd bought down to the floor.
She was in labor.
He held her hand as she screamed in pain, him only telling her to push. The sweat lacing on her forehead, tears streaming down her face. She looked at him with a faint smile. Crying came from nowhere as he ran over to the baby. He laughed, she was beautiful. He moved over to Eris to show her what magic she created.
He cradled the baby moving towards her, her face still in a smirk, he hair was all over the place, he face still laced in sweat and tears. "Eris... we did it.." he whispered but she didn't move. He knew that after pregnancies the woman often slept so he let her rest.
He changed the baby thinking of possible name for her. He was so happy. He got a baby, which was all he ever wanted. And the woman that gave him that gift was the love of his life. She'd been napping for hours now, he thought of waking her up putting the baby down. He walked over to the couch while the baby was still babbling as he leaned beside Eris.
I asked her to wake up once and then a couple times again as I smirked at her peace. I called her five times before touching her, she was cold. I called her name one more time before feeling her neck. There was no pulse, I moved my finger over, still no pulse.
I gasped still giving it hope but I still managed to burst into tears. "Eris?" I didn't really i was yelling until I did, shaking her unmoving body trying to get her up. Everything was blurry through my eyes. She couldn't leave me.. I pressed against her chest pumping it and then breathing into her mouth, doing this action again and again and again.
She didn't wake up. As if she knew what was happening the baby started crying. I moved over to her quickly and tried to shush her rocking her back and forth and staring at Eris, sobbing quietly to myself.
"We've found her! Take her now!" Voice's came out of nowhere before I realized what was going on I was shot on my arm. A million men in black and white suits stormed the cramped room making no hesitation to grab the baby. I got up wincing at the pain in my chest but still trying to get up. This was all I had left. A skinny blonde man picked her up and she started crying immediately.
"You can't take her! Stop-" I was stopped from speaking as a bullet flew to my chest, blood seeping through my chest. I tried to get up, hearing the baby crying, but my body didn't let me get up. I still tried it but I just got shot a second time, passing out.
