positives: roxy is adventurous, outgoing, and curious about the world around her; she's very inquisitive and loves the natural process of coming up with questions and making observations to draw educated guesses on the answers to such questions. roxy is extremely compassionate when it comes to her beloved ones and those who she deems "friends"; she loves to share her thoughts and speak her mind to those she trusts when she's sure of what she's saying is right- or at least will be of good use- because she knows she'll be heard and understood 99.9% of the time, which is enough to satisfy her.

neutral: the district 8 female is quite observant and tends to keep quiet about her observations until she has a sure answer for why she's seeing the things she is seeing. if feels as though someone is unfairly doubting her or trying to make her seem less than anyone, she won't immediately blow up and engage in a fist fight; she'll play the sarcasm game, as that's usually a way she can call her opposer's out on their stupidity without instantly resorting to insults or brawls. apart from that, she's ambitious and is always striving to fulfill a goal or ambition she put out for herself, even after she's told no or warned against such ambitions; yes, she'd be bothered by it at first, but her confidence in herself is what pushes her to overcome the opposition and sends her on a quest to "prove them wrong." she's usually optimistic, and her optimism allows her radiate positive energy to be enjoyed by those around her ... at least to those who don't bother her or provoke her first.

negatives: roxy does not handle disappointment well at all. coupled with this, she is stubborn— perhaps too much so for her own good most of the time. because of this, she is capable of doing away with her compassionate and caring side to unleash a fit of anger onto those unfortunate enough to be around her at the time— especially if she already has a short temper up and about, ready to be unleashed... as she usually gets when she finds herself in confrontations she doesn't particularly like. she tries her best not to reveal that side of her, as she is currently working on reducing her reactive state for a more calm and accepting side to exalt her compassionate and caring traits. if someone gets under her skin too much or for too long, she will not hesitate to be the first to 'throw hands'. she may get too carried away, and may proceed to try and beat you until you are nearly unconscious... depending on how angry she is.
it's always important to note, though, that she's NOT malicious, nor is she twisted— she just has difficulty handling her emotions in a healthy manner.

roxy is also pretty naïve, still, even though she doesn't really like to admit it. yes, she's super observant, smart, and adaptable to various circumstances throughout her lifetime... but her lifetime is in fact a SHORT one. she's only 13 and while she likes to believe that she knows a lot about the world at such a young age... there are still lots of lessons and experiences yet to undergo and uncover. she's is also quite stubborn at times, especially to a fault.

how it flows: overall, roxy is a sweet, compassionate and caring little girl who is headstrong and knows what she wants and doesn't want, as well as what she likes and doesn't likes. she knows deep down that she is still too young to possess complete understanding of the world, and she knows somewhere in her mind that she can't be right about everything, but her excitement over adventure and conquering the unknown can sometimes (and unfortunately) lead to either really good results and useful information or a rabbit hole full of disappointment and anger fits. she will make sure her voice is known and respect is shown , even at the cost of a physical fight (ironic since touching somebody as a way to inflict harm is usually how you lose respect) but when she is shown that respect and given that space for her voice to flutter and shine, she will also reciprocate the attitude and actions. she is stubborn and sarcastic, but she's also vastly compassionate and empathetic.

WEAPONS/SPECIAL SKILLS ➤ Roxy, because of her curious, daring, and playful nature she embraced as a child, is advantageously flexible, agile, and fairly skilled at climbing the few scattered trees behind her yard. There aren't much trees around where she lived though, so she never really had the opportunities to hunt— so she doesn't have any experiences with weapons of any sorts. She has, however, gotten into fights with kids at her districts before, so she has some experience with hand-on-hand combat— or in other words, tussling about with other kids her age (more or less) and recklessly throwing punches. Though she may not be the BEST fighter, she's sure to bring out her vicious and careless side, ESPECIALLY when the fight is not just a "normal stupid little kid fight over a small thing" and more of a "chance at revenge over something that was clearly important for Roxy" kind of situation. :)

DISTRICT SKILLS ➤ Roxy, being from District 8, has been introduced to the Textile Industry at an early age by both her mother and father, but both parents decided that they wouldn't make her work in the actual factories that produced uniforms and whatnot to the Peacekeepers across Panem. Instead, with the money both Lisa and Avery (mother and father respectively) made in the textile industry, a knitting kit was bought for Roxy to "play around" with; she would still be introduced to a world in which one needed a keen eye for small details and seemingly invisible inconsistencies throughout the products that one puts together, but Roxy would come to love mixing around different colors, patterns, and designs to the small clothes or accessories (hats and scarves) she'd knit together. This became more of a stress relieving activity and fun little hobby rather than an actual job with real pay. Still, she developed a keen eye for patterns, discrepancies, and flaws in something— or someone. She has very refined motor skills which make even the tiniest of muscles and body parts agile, flexible, and adaptable to whatever she works with. She's grown to hold high expectations for herself in terms of accuracy but also creativity, which can sometimes take away the fun of exploring with new ideas and "going wherever the wind blows."

As mentioned before, back at her district, she'd play around with her brother Erin and some of her friends— mainly male —a little roughly, so she's far from intimidated by bullies and others who choose to pick on her or threaten to start a fight. She has begun to develop a pain tolerance, but being that she is still so young, her pain tolerance isn't as high as she thinks it is. Overall, though, her sort of rough aspect of her District Life has given her skills such as resilience, grit, determination, and perseverance in the face of fear and challenge.

mother | lisa stanford | 35 years old | she's had an on and off relationship with roxy; she cares about roxy deeply, especially because she's the only girl and last child she'd conceive and will raise, but she hates the way roxy expresses herself through "rough play" and venturing habites that she labels as "unladylike." for this reason ... she and roxy can get into a lot of arguments and disagreements. roxy sees a lot of her lectures over actions as "failures to understand her better."
father | avery marcus stanford | 37 years old | he is the closest to roxy; while her mother shuns a lot of the activities she gets herself involved in, he's the one further encouraging her outgoing and exceedingly adventurous behavior. he also taught to her fend for herself and never be afraid to speak her mind whenever she felt necessary. he's helped mold her mentality and perspective on life a great deal.
brother | erin stanford | 16 years old | as he is male and older, his "manly like behavior" is excused a little more often from lisa, the mother (arguably unfair). he, too, likes to play a little rough with his sister, but overall he is very attentive to roxy's well being and makes sure that— even after a long and draining argument between them — she's getting the love and care she needs and deserves to grow into a responsible and rewarding citizen to panem.

OPEN TO ALLIES? ➤ Absolutely, as long as you don't make her mad, lol.

LOVER? * ➤ She's open to have a crush!

MOTIVATION TO WIN THE GAMES? ➤ Only a slight motivation to win, and that is to see her family and friends once again and to resume her everyday life as normal (if possible). The only reason why it is SLIGHT (as of RIGHT NOW) is because deep down, she is absolutely petrified of the Games and even more petrified that she was unfortunately reaped and even more unfortunately not volunteered for; it is very possible for her ambitious side to come up, if she comes to be in the right state of mind, and perhaps it'll aid her in becoming even more motivated to win the Games if she sees and believes that she has what it takes to survive and risk putting other children's blood in her hands.

TOKEN * ➤ A necklace her mother gave her with a silver letter "R" on it— it was a family gift to her for officially becoming a teenager and advancing into the next stage in life — whatever that might be now.

BACKSTORY ➤
roxy galilee stanford was always a "tomboyish" kind of girl, having been around the influence of an older brother her whole life and having been led around by her father. she was a good student most of the time (when she wasn't getting into arguments and physical fights) and would make sure she would be on top of her tasks. her love for exploration beyond her home and her ambition to overcome any obstacles have led to various injuries and even more reprimands from her mother. nonetheless, it's safe to say that she keeps herself very active and busy in her daily life, so it's very rare you find her bored or poorly entertained. she was never forced to work at such a young age because her parents wanted to her to have fun and live out her youth (though according to her mom, her dad and brother have taken this a little too far to the point where she's constantly risking physical injuries). she never gave much thought to the hunger games, as she found it ridiculous the possibility of her ever being reaped into one of the games. however, whenever she did watch them (which was annually), she would feel sympathetic and sad for those families who would have to bear the fact of losing their beloved children and would constantly question if she'd thrive in the arenas constructed for long, solely depending on her curiosity, instincts, and outgoing personality. up to now, she's been living her life with her brother, mom and dad, and her friends back at the district, playing out and about, under the sun, being as carefree and outgoing as always. she has kept up with a lot of her knitting and has had big plans to begin selling the products she has knitted and finalized together.

REAPING REACTION ➤ Roxy was distraught, to say the least. She was only 13 years old... she had so much to live for, so much to do, and so much to explore... she was pretty much petrified and frozen with shock that the Peacekeepers had to prod her to coming out of shock and walk her up the stage. Once on stage, she was able to compose herself long enough to say farewell to her family.

" Well... I guess now I'll know for SURE what these Games have in store for me. "

FACTION OPS ➤  Roxy, though she won't outwardly admit it out loud unless she makes an ally/close friend, is terrified of Districts 1, 2, and 4 for their reputation with being ruthless and wicked in the arena. She'd feel a lot more comfortable with people from outlying districts like 3, 6, 11 and 12 for their more rebellious nature. Really, though, the only opinions that would truly matter in Roxy's mind would be that towards the Career Districts as a means to get away from them and avoid witnessing their frightening ruthlessness. As long as you rub her the right way and are not from those districts, Roxy's opinion on certain district tributes will be based off of personalities and what can be offered.

OP. ON THE GAMES ➤ Roxy dislikes the Games very much because it was a reminder that the Capitol could mistreat them and belittle them all they'd like, and none of them would be able to stop them. Being from a rebellious District like 8, Roxy, too, had adopted a more ambitious outlook on the Games; she doesn't want to be in the Games because she absolutely hates the gruesomeness and violence that drives them in motion, as well as the Capitolian Elite puppeteering the entire event, but she has admittedly found curiosity as to what would happen if she were to... do something to make the Capitol uncomfortable and uneasy if she were to be selected for the Games. Overall, though, these ambitious thoughts are completely overshadowed most of the time by her terror and strong dislike towards the Games.

OP. ON ALLIES ➤ As stated before, she is open to allies, as long as she can trust them and be sure that any REMOTE hint of animosity between them wouldn't be enough to cause division so big as to cause a fight between the two before even starting for the other tributes. Although she is usually smart, quick witted, and extraordinarily bold and fierce for her age ... she is still VERY naïve, so as long as someone gives her a nice pretty smile and a willingness to team up, she'll most likely give in immediately and— if she grows attached to said person or people —lose her guard and open up to them even more just as if they were some random person from her District she was just beginning to meet, like, and consider a friend.

OCCUPATION * ➤ She had no real occupation except being a "student" at a local school that she's been attending for nearly her whole life.
