𝐬𝐢𝐱𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 came along faster than lyra had expected. it was officially her sixth year attending hogwarts and that was absolutely astounding. she once again boarded the hogwarts express on september first of 1994. she was greeted in the same compartment by roger davies and thea reaves. she jumped into thea's arms upon seeing her.
"see, you would think that i would get the first hug seeing as--"
"shut it, davies," lyra interrupted, putting a finger over his mouth to shush him. she then proceeded to hug her very best friend as hard as she possibly could. "merlin, for being the ravenclaw quidditch captain, you sure are lanky!"
"oh whatever. you're just saying that cause you know i filled out over the summer ," he scoffed. lyra laughed and took her seat while roger placed her suitcase above her head.
"thank you, sir."
"well would you look at the time!" thea exclaimed. "it's time for the annual 7-hour nap! night night lyra, we'll talk to you when you wake up!"
"actually, guys i think that i'm gonna go search for the trolley. i'm quite hungry to say the least," she told them, getting out of her seat. "you know i can't sleep on an empty stomach."
although it was a lie, the two friends didn't seem to take notice. lyra set out to find the trolley filled with sweets , which didn't seem to take her long. but the trolley witch wasn't the only person that stood with the candies.
"'afternoon, boys," she chirped to the two redheads. she had finally figured out how to tell them apart. george had a mole on the side of his neck and his voice was a tad bit deeper. she could always tell them apart from a distance, though, because fred was always the one who noticed her from across the room and glared at her.
"ah if it isn't the arch nemesis," george chuckled, pulling her in for a quick side hug.
"and double trouble if i ever did see it," she smirked.
"y'know, pevensie, it's always funny how you talk to us as though we're friends. quite hilarious actually," fred said irritably.
"george, is he always this grouchy? i think he needs a nap."
"maybe he needs to be burped--"
"cut it out, you lot, you're just gonna irritate the kid," roger said from behind the two.
"what are you doing here, davies?" george asked, knitting his eyebrows together.
"just picking up lyra before she starts a war that i truly do not intend to be part of," he smiled, picking lyra up and throwing her over his shoulder.
"stop it, i was having a conversation with my dear old friends, you fun sucker!" she exclaimed, hitting on his back repeatedly.
"accio dear old friend!" fred chanted. he feigned shock. "george, would you look at that! pevensie is still over there! i wonder what that could mean!"
"that you're a shitty wizard, weaselbee," lyra called back, earning the finger in return.
"alright, you, settle down," roger told her. she gave up on escaping and fell limp in his arms. soon enough, she had fallen asleep.
many hours later, she awoke beside roger on the long seat in their compartment, thea sitting opposite of them.
"bout damn time, my arm's been asleep for four hours you git,"roger complained as she sat up. "remind me to never do that again."
"don't know why you did it in the first place, you idiot. you know she sleeps the whole train ride."
"speaking of which, the train ride is almost over so i should probably go get changed," she told them, rubbing her eyes.
"you could always just change in here," roger chuckled.
"i knew you were gay!" thea said at the exact same time that roger said "nothing i haven't seen before." thea looked between the two, absolutely bewildered by what she had just heard. she ran out of the compartment.
"and you did that for what?" lyra shook her head.
"just saying. im serious, though, you could always just change in here."
"i'm not shagging you on the train, davies."
"why not? you've done it before," he grinned.
"you're going the be the death of me."
"so is that a yes?"
"i can't stand you," she said, locking her lips with the boy.
"well you two certainly didn't clean up well," thea told them when she finally got back. her eyes widened. "wait. did y'all... merlin i don't even want to know."
they all laughed at their friend's reaction, brushed themselves off, and grabbed their luggage, heading off the train. they seemed to lose one another before they got to the carriages though, so lyra just filed in to the nearest carriage available. to her amusement, she found lee jordan sitting with the weasley twins.
"bloody hell," she said, turning right back around to walk away, but she wasn't given the chance. george pulled her into the carriage before it started moving and shut the door behind her.
"well hey, handsome, you you doin?" she commented, giving him a cheeky smile.
"wrong boyfriend, love," the boy told her. she checked his neck.
"hmm. no mole. wassup, sexy?" she winked at him and moved out of his lap. "could you lot seriously not let me go in any other carriage? are you kidding me?"
"aww, but i thought we were good old friends!" fred whined mockingly.
"fred weasley, you're an arse," she grunted, then she got an idea. she reached in her back pocket to grab her wand. "accio arsehole!"
she grabbed fred's arm and pulled him into her. "oh my godric it worked!! would you look at that!"
fred scoffed and brushed himself off. "how rude. georgie, tell your girlfriend to keep her hands to herself and be nice," he pouted.
george chuckled. "y'know i think that i might have to officially disown her. she couldn't tell us apart after all these years!"
lyra dramatically cried out. "oh georgie please no! whatever shall i do without you by my side! i shall lay down and die right here!" she crawled on the floor and feigned death.
"get up you doofus!" george laughed, grabbing her arms and hoising her up.
she giggled and squeezed into the seat beside george, squishing him and lee against one another. george turned his head towards her, his hot breath fanning over her neck as he whispered in her ear.
"you and davies had ought to keep it down next time. quite loud if you ask me."
her eyes widened with shock. "no, no, no, tell me you didn't!"
he shook his head. "not me," he said, looking over to his twin.
"no," she groaned, burying her face in her hands as she took in what he had just told her. the longer she thought about it, the worse it sounded in her head. george noticed lyra's reaction and threw an arm across her shoulder and used his free hand to move the hair out of her face.
"careful, weasley, or you'll be next," she joked, leaning her head on his shoulder.
"you two confuse me. a lot," lee jordan spoke up.
"me too," fred muttered.
"psh, what?? how do we confuse you?" lyra asked.
"i can never tell if you and george are being serious or not."
"well of course we're being serious! we're madly in love, in case you can't tell!" george bellowed dramatically. lyra leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.
"obviously," she stated. fred groaned and she smiled.
"you're one odd chick, pevensie," he mumbled.
"such a grumpy old man, aren't you?" she laughed, sitting beside him and leaning on him.
"get off of me, you git," he grumbled, shrugging her off unsuccessfully.
"aww, c'mon freddy loosen up!"
fred and george locked eyes and burst out laughing sputtering out something along the lines of "loosening up." it took her a second, but she figured it out.
"bloody hell, i hate you two. lee has officially taken george's spot as my boyfriend because you two are a pain in my arse," she huffed. lee chuckled and shook his head.
"what about davies though," fred chuckled, nudging her in the side.
she swatted him away and pouted. "it's not like that."
"oh yeah? then what's it like? because it sounded an awful lot like--"
"okay! i get it! this stays between us, though. please, fred, i know we don't agree on much of anything, but this isn't something me or davies can have getting out."
"why're you only talking to me?" fred asked as though he were being accused.
"because, i know george won't say anything and lee doesn't care enough to tell anyone."
"well you'll owe me big time. my silence doesn't come for fre--"
she cut him off with a kiss on the lips. he started screeching about how he had no clue where her mouth had been.
"boom, i have bought fred weasley's silence with the mere price of a kiss. simple. done."
"oh no no no, you don't get away with it that easily."
"frederick weasley--"
"that's not my n--"
"frederick weasley i swear to merlin if you tell a soul about me and... my occasional hookup buddy, i will makes it my life mission to end you."
"isn't that already your life's mission?"
"no. its yours, remember? i don't hate you, you hate me."
"would you look at that, we're here!" he shouted, changing the subject. they had, in fact, arrived at the school.
"whatever; one of these days you're gonna have to have an actual conversation with me," lyra sighed, standing up. she grabbed her bag and slung it over her shoulder.
"not if i can help it," fred snickered lightly.
