"do you have to go?" dani pouted, leaning on her propped elbow, looking effortlessly tempting in nothing but her sports bra. the sight of her, all toned muscles and messy curls, was making it harder and harder for me to even think about leaving.
"yes dani, it's gio's birthday and she has this whole thing planned, it's only for a couple of days." i said as i placed back on my panties that was flung on the other side of the bed by dani a few hours ago.
"after spending a couple of years apart, i can't do any more days." dani groans, her wild curls falling over her face in a mess that made her look irresistibly cute.
"i'll be back before you know it, baby." i smiled as i reluctantly got off the bed, trying to stay focused. but when i glanced over at her, i saw the way her eyes were trailing slowly down my body, taking in every inch of me. i could feel her stare like a physical touch. "stop looking at me like that."
"like what?" she asked, her voice low and teasing as she leaned back, arms now folded behind her head, looking far too pleased with herself.
"like that," i muttered, trying to ignore the way she was making my knees feel weak.
"i'm just admirin' how good my princess looks," she teased, and i rolled my eyes, though a smile was tugging at the corners of my lips. dani and i have spent the last week camped out in her house, the only times i went back home was to get more clothes so leaving her felt truly dreadful.
i started getting dressed, pulling on my jacket, but even then, i could feel her gaze burning into my back. i turned, only to be met with her overly dramatic offended expression, as if i'd committed the worst sin.
"what?"
"you gon' leave my house without kissing me goodbye?" she asked, her voice soft, her lips pouting in that way she knew i couldn't resist. i smiled, sheepish, and carefully knelt back onto the bed, thinking i'd just give her a quick peck.
but dani had other plans.
before i could even blink, she wrapped her strong arms around me, pulling me flush against her chest.
her skin was warm, and her scent—soft and sweet, mixed with the familiar musk of our time together—wrapped around me, making it even harder to leave. she cupped my cheeks gently, her thumb brushing against my jaw as she brought my face toward hers.
her lips met mine in a soft, lingering kiss, a slow, deliberate press that was filled with more tenderness than i expected. it wasn't rushed; it was savouring, her lips warm and gentle.
her tongue slipped past my lips, and i sighed into the kiss, my fingers gripping her arms as she held me tightly, not wanting to let go.
i could feel the warmth radiating from her body, her hands roaming my back as she deepened the kiss. when we finally pulled back, she kept her forehead resting against mine, her eyes still closed, her breath mingling with mine in the small space between us.
"you betta take a lot of pictures and send me one every single hour." she murmured softly, her voice low and filled with something more than just teasing. her hands slid down to my waist, holding me there for just a second longer.
"i promise," i whispered, pressing a final, soft kiss to her lips before reluctantly pulling away, feeling the weight of her arms slipping from my waist as i stood up.
as i made my way to the door, i glanced back one more time. dani lay there, watching me with that same intense gaze, her lips curled into a small, satisfied smile, as if she knew exactly what she was doing to me.

"baddie, baddie shot o'clock!" gio screams at the top of her lungs as she raises her fifth glass.
the entire room erupts in cheers as we clink our glasses together. we were staying in a cabana styled house in atlanta with a few of gio's friends for her birthday weekend and the last two days has been nothing but drinking, screaming and partying. i swear i heard my liver crying for help at one point.
i felt my pocket vibrate and i remembered that dani was texting me, but i ended up getting distracted by the girls having a twerk off on the kitchen counter. i excuse myself after downing the horrible shot and make my way to the firepit outside, the liquor still burning down my throat but my smile was quickly returning on my face before i even opened her messages.

"who got you smiling like that?" natalie asks, teasing me with a playful nudge as she settles down next to me. instinctively, i slip my phone out of sight, my fingers brushing over the screen before tucking it away.
dani and i haven't really gotten around to speaking about launching our relationship. in fact, we hadn't been doing much talking at all lately—our time together had been preoccupied with... other things.
"just saw this funny video on tiktok." i lied, feeling slightly bad. i usually tell natalie everything, sometimes too much, however i knew how much she disapproved of dani and i just needed more time, before people started raining on my parade.
"my for you page is a mess, i don't even get normal videos on there anymore." gio slurs slightly, the alcohol from earlier in the night still evident in her voice. she plops down on the other side of me, her face flushed from the drinks, and we all turn to face the fire pit. "just memes and edits of me."
"tell me about it," i laugh, accepting the blanket natalie hands me as the night air turns chilly. the fire crackles softly in front of us, casting a warm glow on our faces. "how are you enjoying your birthday?" i ask, my smile softening as i look over at gio, waiting for her answer.
"i'm having a lit time because you guys are here of course." she smiles. "i love y'all for realsies."
natalie and i exchange a look, barely holding back our laughter as gio's lower lip starts to tremble. we all burst out laughing at the same time mocking gio as she starts to tear up, the sound filling the quiet night air. before i know it, we're all wrapped up in a bear hug, the warmth of our bodies and feeling comforting.
later, we head back to the main party and i find myself perched on a stool at the island table, absentmindedly watching the girls attempt handstands and other silly stunts.
"by the way," gio says, coming up behind me and making me jump in shock. "i saw the blogs so you're not fooling me,"
"what are you talking about?" i try to laugh it off, but my heart races a little faster.
"you were spotted leaving the club with dani. i know you're seeing her, girl. no ordinary meme would have you cheesing like that." she raises an eyebrow at my shocked face. "don't worry about nati she's currently in her no phone era, too focused on work so she doesn't know anything."
"you think?" i ask, glancing over at natalie, who's laughing with the group in the background.
"yeah, but i would tell her before you guys get spotted again," gio advises, patting my back lightly before picking up a bottle of liquor and rejoining the group.

i came back from atlanta exhausted, my mind clouded with thoughts of a certain someone. the moment i stepped foot in my house, i felt an emptiness i couldn't ignore. half an hour was all i managed before grabbing my keys and heading out, each step taking me closer to dani's house. the weekend away felt like torture, making me question how we ever survived four years without contact.
my phone starts to ring and when i saw dani's caller id, i answered smiling already. "hey, you." i say sweetly and i hear a sigh on the other end.
"hello, you. where is your fine ass?" she huffed, her voice laced with impatience. i bit back a grin, holding the phone close as i approached her gate. "i knew i should've picked you up from the airport."
"no, dan dan, you had a whole interview," i reminded her, though my heart fluttered at her words.
"i don't care, i just want to see you. seriously, how far away are you?"
"let me think," i teased, pretending to ponder before reaching out to ring her gate. the moment i did, she hung up, and i braced myself for the inevitable. the automatic gate creaked open, and there she was, standing on her doorstep with her arms already wide open.
"come here, mama," she called, her voice as deep and soothing as ever. i couldn't help but quicken my pace, a wide smile stretching across my face as i closed the distance between us. before i knew it, her strong arms wrapped around my lower body, lifting me effortlessly off the ground. i buried my face in her curls, inhaling the familiar scent that i'd missed so much.
"i missed you so much," i whispered, the words heavy with sincerity. she tightened her grip in response, holding me like she never wanted to let go. we stayed like that, swaying slightly, as if the world outside her embrace didn't exist.
eventually, dani turned and carried me inside, not bothering to set me down. it felt right to stay close, like we were recharging together after being apart for too long.
oscar, dani's dog, trotted over to greet us in the living room, his tail wagging in excitement. i pulled my head from the nook of dani's neck and smiled down at him.
"hello, bubba, did you miss me?" i cooed, my voice soft as i reached down to ruffle his fur. dani carefully set me on my feet, and i immediately knelt to give oscar the attention he deserved.
"hey, i thought i was bubba." dani whines as she heads into the kitchen.
"well, you can be bubba number two," i teased, standing up to follow her. she rolled her eyes but smiled, opening the fridge to grab a bottle of water.
"why the hell am i number two? hold up, don't tell me oscar's my competition now."
"he is, so you better watch your back," i shot back, smirking as she walked around the counter. before i could react, she picked me up effortlessly, placing me on the cold surface of the counter. i shivered, partly from the chill and partly from the thrill of her touch. she stepped between my legs, her face inches from mine, her eyes darkening with intent.
"what was that for?" i asked, my voice dropping to a whisper, suddenly feeling breathless.
"does bubba number one make you lose your breath like this?" she murmured, her head tilting slightly as she gazed into my eyes before lowering to my lips. i could get lost in those brown eyes for a lifetime.
"well i mean, if we play fetch then—" before i could finish my cheeky response, dani's lips found mine.
"you're gonna regret that answer." she whispers against my lips before her lips crashed against mine, the kiss heated and demanding.
her hands slid up my thighs, parting them wider as she stepped closer, her body pressing into mine with an intensity that sent a jolt of electricity straight to my core. my fingers tangled in her curls, pulling her deeper into the kiss, tasting her, savouring the familiar rhythm of our mouths moving together.
her hands moved from my thighs to my waist, her thumbs tracing slow, tantalizing circles over my skin. i gasped against her mouth, and she took advantage of the moment, her tongue slipping past my lips, deepening the kiss.
the heat between us built quickly, her touch growing bolder, more insistent, and i felt myself leaning back on the counter, needing more of her, needing everything.
"you really must have missed me, huh?" dani murmured against my lips, her voice a low, teasing whisper. her breath was hot against my skin, sending shivers racing down my spine.
"so much," i breathed, my hands slipping down her back, gripping her hoodie tightly, pulling her closer. "so fucking much, dani."
"good," she growled softly, her teeth grazing my lower lip, her signature grin spreading across her face. "because i've been thinkin' about this all weekend."
her fingers found the hem of my shirt, slipping underneath, her hands cool against my heated skin. she dragged her palms up slowly, deliberately, her touch sending sparks of pleasure through me.
"thinkin' about all the surfaces imma 'bout to bend you over," she continued, her voice low and husky, her words a promise that made my heart race. "and all the things i wanted to do to you the moment you got back"
i bit my lip, trying to stifle a moan, my eyes fluttering shut as her hands moved higher, her thumbs brushing just below my breasts.
"oh, really?" i managed to whisper, my voice trembling with anticipation. "like what?"
"like this..." she murmured before dipping her head, her lips trailing soft kisses along my jaw, down to my neck. she nipped at the sensitive skin there, drawing a soft gasp from my lips, my body arching toward her instinctively. "or maybe this..." she added, her tongue flicking out to taste the spot she'd just bitten, soothing the sting with a gentle swipe.
my breath hitched, and i felt a rush of heat pooling between my thighs. "god, dani..." i whimpered, my fingers digging into her shoulders, desperate to keep her close.
her hands moved up to cup my breasts, squeezing gently underneath my shirt, her thumbs brushing over my hardening nipples, sending a wave of pleasure coursing through me.
"you like that?" she whispered against my skin, her breath hot, her voice filled with a confident, teasing edge.
"yes, more," i panted, my hips shifting forward, seeking friction, seeking her.
"oh, i'm just getting started, baby," she promised, her lips finding mine again in a searing kiss that left me breathless, my mind spinning with desire. her hands slipped back down to my waist, gripping me firmly as she pulled me to the edge of the counter.
"but i think we should save some of this for later," she teased, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she broke the kiss, leaving me breathless, wanting more.
i blinked, dazed, trying to process her words. "wait, what?" i asked, my voice filled with frustration, my body still buzzing from her touch.
"i asked you to bring a good outfit and makeup in your overnight bag, remember?" she grinned, leaning back slightly, her hands still resting on my hips. "so go get ready for our date, or we'll never make it out the door."
i pouted, my lips still tingling from her kisses, but the playful glint in her eyes made it impossible to be mad. "you're really gonna leave me hanging like this?" i asked, giving her a mock glare.
"oh, don't worry," she chuckled, pressing one last, lingering kiss to my lips, her voice dropping to a seductive whisper. "we'll pick up right where we left off later."
with that, she stepped back, leaving me breathless, my skin tingling, my heart racing. "now go get dressed, beautiful," she called over her shoulder, heading toward the living room. "i've got plans for you tonight... and they start with dinner."
