so, i saw someone mention that tony was able to go into space without any repercussions from the government, implying the accords were a load of r u b b i s h and literally changed nothing.

the government are pretty absent in infinity war, besides when steve's squad meet up with rhodey and bruce and the hologram meeting is going on.

they're not in it much - most likely - because over the course of the film we're in space, learning about thanos, and in wakanda - and the government stuff was boring as hell in civil war.

civil war had a huge impact in placing where characters would be when infinity war began. bucky in wakanda, sam and wanda broken out of the raft, natasha switching allegiances again.

tony is pretty much alone. vision is in scotland with wanda, t'challa is in wakanda, natasha, as said, switches sides, peter is still at school. rhodey is the only one there but is still recovering.

one reason i don't like civil war so much is that it divides everyone, people feel that they have to see either tony or steve as the villain, when they were both doing what they thought was right.

steve is painted as an arrogant ass who doesn't listen to the government, when in reality he's just looking out for his best friend.

tony is shown to be a pushover to authority who lashes out at bucky, when in reality he has every right to be angry.

i know the discourse from civil war has long since died but, i understand where both of them are coming from. tony came face to face with the man who killed his own parents, and you expect him not to react?

steve deserved better too they made him seem like a complete ass.

i'm always going to defend tony because he's one of my favourites, but i feel both sides have valuable arguments.

and, the fact tony and steve didn't even interact in infinity war will leave me crying for years to come.
