amelie flood x sam golbach
chapter sixty-nine || 🎬🤍🦢
Amelie Flood had always loved Christmas. She loved the smell, the whole idea, the innocent look on children's faces as they added more toys to their list on christmas eve.
She especially loved watching Sam Golbach get excited over wrapping gifts for his siblings. In fact, she just loved the idea of a christmas with him. It was their second christmas together and upon her flight getting cancelled two days before she was set to get on it and Sam feeling horrible, they decided to stay in her apartment, cook dinner, open presents and watch films all day.
It was christmas eve and he was on face-time with his parents while Amelie sat and watched him with a dazed smile on her lips.
She didn't even notice when he hung up the phone and came dashing towards her. Only then did she notice when he was lying directly on her.
"I love christmas." He whispered, planting soft kisses in her hair before placing one on her nose and eventually pecking her lips with a goofy smile on his face.
"I love christmas too."
"I love you."
She gave him a look that said i love you too before muttering, "Are you drunk?"
"Love-drunk."
It was safe to say he had been pushed off her in a nanosecond, "Okay." She laughed as he jumped up.
"I'm serious!" He laughed along with her, taking ahold of her face, "Do you know much I've spent thinking about spending the holidays with you?"
Amelie blushed a vivid shade of scarlet, "Shut up."
"I'm not joking." He followed after her when she pushed away from him and went into the kitchen to busy herself from thinking things she probably shouldn't have been thinking.
Was it a bad idea? Surly.
He'd say no. Would he?
He'd think she was crazy!
She didn't mind spending the rest of her days locked in a house with him. She would probably invite the idea with open arms.
"Amelie." She didn't turn around, instead she kept looking for the cookie cutters she knew she didn't own because if she looked at him she would ask a stupid question, "How long ahve we been together?"
"A year and four months." The words came in a rushed flash and he could barely understand her, but he knew. There was no point in understanding. He knew.
"I've been talking to Carmen for the last eight months." He walked closer to her, his arms circling her waist, "Remember when she said she was going to move out and that she found her dream apartment."
"Vividly. I slapped her with a hairbrush." She said proudly as she traced his knuckles.
Sam tried - and failed - to keep his laugh in, "Who do you think helped her find her dream apartment."
"If you tell me you're cheating on me with Carmen I promise you, I will kill you. I'm five feet away from a knife, Sam. Please, don't test me." She said, pulling away from him to give him a very serous look.
The blond was in shock, "What?"
"The way you're wording things has me on edge." She admitted, truly terrified.
"I'm not cheating on you with Carmen." When her jaw dropped, he understood where he fucked up, "Or with anyone. You keep me on my toes. When the fuck would I have time - or the energy - to cheat on you?"
"Thank you?"
"You're welcome. I love you and only you." He had to make sure it was drilled into her head.
"I love you too. Thank you. Anyway, continue."
He laughed before clearing his throat, "Carmen wants to move out in the new year because - her words - she's "growing up" and "doesn't want to be a dog mom her whole life" with you..."
"I'm going to kill her."
"She put a deposit down and she is moving out. And I know you'd rather drop dead than live with Colby..." If he was insinuating what she thought he was she was going to tweak out, "And I've already talked about this with him and we'd still film in the house, but... I wanna move in with you. I wanna settle down with you. I want to build a life with you."
Her mouth parted before she could even register his words.
"You don't have to give me an answer right now, but I want this."
"I want that!" She said very loudly after a beat of silence. It was all she ever wanted.
"You do?" She nodded her head and he swooped her up into a hug, "Thank God. I don't know what I would have done if you'd have said no."
"Luckily I didn't." She whispered into his shoulder.
Her dreams finally coming through.
