❝ anyway, don't be a stranger! ❞

      elijah hewson was leaving her apartment in five minutes and her heart was broken. over the past two days, she had liked going to sleep with him there and then waking up the next morning with his face millimetres away from hers. you could say she had gotten attached.

     he had his backpack on, while he blue-toothed his headphones to his phone. valerie stood in front of him, her hands wrapped around the front of his jacket. she wasn't gonna ask him not to leave, but she would put on her best sad face.

    once he had his headphones connected, he placed them around his neck and looked down at the girl, "don't look so sad." he smiled weakly at her, "it's not like i'm going forever. i'll be back in, like, a month and a half."

    valerie sighed, "this is your fault, you know." he raised his eyebrows, "if you hadn't have run out in front of my car and then and been so nice to me, i could easily let you walk away."

    eli pushed hair hair back from her face and tipped her chin up slightly so they were completely eye level, "well, lucky for you, i'm just an amazing person."

    "not lucky for me." she mumbled, "i should just tell you to fuck off."

    "yeah, but you won't." he scrunched him his nose before dipping his head and placing his lips over hers.

    they had kissed before. two of three times, but kissing someone 'goodbye' was very different then just doing it to do it.

when she pulled away, he rested his forehead against hers, "yeah, well... please don't turn into a stranger."

"why would i do that?" he asked as if she was crazy for even suggesting it.

val shrugged, "guys usually get the thing they want and then fuck off. at least to me, anyway. i don't want you to do that."

"you don't have to worry about that."

    "if you don't leave now. i'll never let you leave." she pushed him away from her, laughing as her hands pushed against his chest, "go. get gone." the second he opened his mouth she shook her head, "do not start singing fiona apple."

    "how can i deal with this if he won't get with this?" he sang softly, pointing at her as he walked backwards towards the front door.

    she put her fingers in her ears, "la la la la la." she shouted, making him double over.

    he once again walked towards her, "okay, i really do need to go now. josh will kill me if i'm not at the airport in twenty minutes."

     "okay, bye."

    "bye." he stayed stationary.

     valerie looked around, confused.

    "okay." he mumbled before grabbing the side of her face and placing a kiss on her cheek, "now, i'm really going."

    and he did.

he bid her another goodbye before opening for front door and quickly leaving through it. she stared after the door before suddenly snapping out of it. she pushed away the feeling in her stomach and practically ran towards her bedroom.
