GOLD RUSH
CHAPTER NINE, SNOWED IN.
"Mae, Gracie, we're going to be late and V and Lan won't be happy with you," she called to the girls from the living room.
"Go out and get them," Nate sighed from the sofa, wanting to get the meeting over and done with.
"Why can't you go and get them?"
"They listen to you, they won't listen to me," he shrugged, smirking at her.
"Oh yeah because they so listen to me when they're still in that goddamn chicken coop," she grumbled, slamming the back door in response as she trudged to the coop. "Town meeting. Now, shift it," she pointed the house. "Go get your coats."
"You're so bossy," Maeve commented before running past Blair as she held her hand out to grab her.
"And you're annoying. Now, can we go?"
"Nate!" Maeve shouted, opening the door.
"What, Mae?"
"Can Gracie sleep over tonight? Please, please, please," the girl begged.
"She'll have to ask Landon and if he says it's okay then she can," Nate replied, his hands on her shoulders to guide her out the house while Blair did the same to Grace.
The four of them made their way to Patty's dance studio where they sat at the back next to Venus and Landon. They could hear Taylor and Patty bickering when Rory tapped Blair's shoulder and sent her a smile.
"You know you can go back home if you want right? I'm not holding you hostage," Nathan whispered to her after seeing the sister's interact.
Blair could hear Grace begging Landon to let her sleep at Nathan's and Landon eventually giving in, turning to face the boy and smiling. "What and leave you with those two by yourself?" She asked, giving him a knowing look. "They'll run rings around you, Nate."
"What? Think I can't handle them?"
"I know you can't handle them. You can barely handle Mae let alone the both of them," she laughed.
"What is actually going on?" Blair asked Venus over Maeve and Gracie's heads.
"Taylor wants the no-parking zone in front of his store removed I think? I stopped listening a while ago actually," Venus shrugged.
Landon leant forward so Blair could hear him, "He said his customers are being unfairly ticketed."
Harry began to recite the same speech about the battle of Stars Hollow which made Blair sigh and place her head on Nate's shoulder. "I can't go through this again," she sighed.
"Oh my gosh," Maeve grabbed Blair's arm to get attention when Luke jumped out of his seat and began ranting.
"Twelve guys stood in a row all night waiting for an enemy that never showed up, they got stood up. They should've been wearing prom dresses!" Luke exclaimed.
Taylor stood up, "I've had just about enough of this."
"Sit down, Taylor!"
"Menace."
"Suck up."
"I've heard Mae come up with better insults than this," Nate whispered to Blair.
"Have any of you considered the fact you're glorifying a war we fought so we could keep land that we stole?" Luke asked.
"If you don't like it here in America, why don't you go stand in like for toilet paper in the U.S.S.R.?"
"There is no more U.S.S.R., Harry."
"What's the U.S.S.R?" Maeve asked the girl sitting beside her.
"Haven't got a clue kid," Blair shrugged.
─•~❉᯽❉~•─
Blair laid on the floor, looking to the window before she checked Maeve was asleep so she could get up. "Why are you moving so much? Keep still and close the window," Maeve grumbled, shifting to stand beside Blair at the window, duvet wrapped around her's and Grace's shoulders.
Blair turned her head to see the girls looking up at her confused. "I smell snow."
"That's not possible. You can't smell snow, you can see it," Maeve grumbled again, clearly unhappy about being woken up.
"When have I ever been wrong about snow Mae?"
"Never but that's not the point."
"Go to sleep and when it snows I'll tell you I told you so," Blair pushed her head to the side gently and ruffling her hair.
"Why can't you go disturb Nate with your snow and leave us alone to sleep?"
"Because I'm not allowed, Mae."
"Didn't stop you last night," she reminded the girl on the floor.
"Why aren't you allowed?" Grace asked, leaning over Maeve's body so she could see the teen.
"They're not allowed because everything thinks they're in love with each other and B will get pregnant so our moms said they weren't allowed," Maeve piped up again while Blair sat up, jaw agape.
"We're not in love with each other!"
"You so are," Maeve giggled, swatting Blair's hand away from her.
"Go to sleep and stop telling people me and your brother are in love because we're not."
"Lan thought you two were together until V started laughing and said you weren't," Grace piped up.
"Well, we're not and we never will be because he's my best friend. Now go to sleep, both of you," Blair told them. "Wait actually before you go to sleep again, what about V and Landon, are they together?"
"You'll have to ask them yourself because I'm going to sleep," Grace told her in a sing song voice, making Blair sigh.
"Little shit," she mumbled,
"You love me," she smiled.
"That's debatable right now," Blair mumbled again, giving the girl a dirty look.
When they woke up again, Nate was rushing about the kitchen getting Maeve and Gracie's lunches and bags ready while Blair helped the girls get ready. "Why do we have to get up so early?" Maeve complained, watching Blair rifle through her closet for some clothes.
"Do you want to go to Luke's before school?" Blair asked, looking over her shoulder at the girls.
"Yes," they both nodded.
"Then get ready or I'm going to be late and I need to meet Rory," she told them before rushing off to the bathroom to get ready.
When she left the bathroom Grace passed the teen her bag. "Don't worry, everything's in there."
"All by books and stuff?" Blair asked, eyebrow raised.
"Yep," the girl nodded. "V brought them round."
"Oh thanks," she smiled.
─•~❉᯽❉~•─
"Where have you been?" Rory asked, falling into step with her sister as she reached her.
"Nates. His parents are out of town and he needed help with Mae," she replied before turning her attention to Lane. "What's going on with you? I haven't seen you in a while. And what's with the uh- hat?"
"I'm in the marching band. I thought you knew this?"
"No, I'm sorry. I got wrapped up in looking after Mae and Gracie," she sighed, feeling bad she didn't know while Rory was ranting about her missing chemistry book. "Did you say you met your soulmate?"
"Yes! Rich Bloominfeld," she nodded with a smile.
"I don't remember him but I'm sure he's nice," she gave her friend a smile.
"Where is my chemistry book? I had it at your house yesterday, didn't I?" Rory complained again.
"Rory! Focus please!" the girl sighed.
"I'm sorry, I just can't find my book."
"Why didn't you check before you left the house?" Blair asked.
"Because I don't Maeve and Grace packing my back for me."
"Neither do I. I do it myself and check I have everything before leaving. Maybe you should try it," she gave her a tight lipped smile as her mom approached the three of them.
"Mom, do yo know where my..."
"Big, scary chemistry book is? Behind the desk," Lorelai told the girl and she left to grab it.
"When are you coming back home?"
"When Nate's parents get back," she replied, giving her mom a small smile.
"Are they okay?"
"Mae doesn't understand why Nate's looking after her all the time rather than just after school and Nate well Nate's Nate when his parents disappear," she shrugged. "He's handling it for Mae because he doesn't want her to worry about him but-"
"She does anyway because she loves him more than anything," Lorelai finished her sentence nodding her head.
"And he's the only dad she's really known, he's practically raised her."
"Why don't you sleep at ours tomorrow? I've got the locksmith coming today but if you do tomorrow, that way me or Rory can watch Mae and give Nate a break?"
"I'll ask him," she smiled as Rory walked back over to them.
Lorelai took a look at Lane and let out a sigh, "Wow."
"Yeah," the girl nodded.
"Is Sookie in the kitchen?" Rory questioned.
"And there she'll stay," the woman replied, leaving the three of them.
"Okay... So where were we?"
"I just met my soulmate," Lane reminded the older twin.
"Right. Rich Bloominfeld," the girl nodded. "Does he still wear the Star Trek shirt?"
"OH," Blair gasped, tapping Lane's shoulder. "I remember him now."
Lane stared at the girl, "You remember him because of a shirt?"
"Yes," she nodded, pushing the door open.
"Hey, Sookie," Rory and Blair greeted with a smile.
"Hey, kitty cats. Cinnamon buns are over there," Sookie greeted as she walked closer to them.
"Do you have any of those rocky road cookies that you made yesterday?"
Sookie gave the girl a smirk, "I can scrounge some up." The woman then looked to Lane, "Lane, you need a bag?"
"No, thank you," the girl replied as the woman walked away. "So anyhow, Rich has this amazing hair," the girl turned her attention back to the twins.
"Really?"
"Really?" Blair questioned, her face scrunched in surprise.
"Oh my god. It's so perfect," she replied. "It's thick buts it's not too thick and it's got really good natural wave so he probably uses way less product than most guys."
"Always a plus," Rory commented while Blair hummed in agreement. "Hey, what time is it?" she asked, clearly distracted.
"I don't know."
"I have to get to the bus stop. Dean's meeting me there," she smiled while Blair sighed, rolling her eyes.
"But I'm trying to talk to you about this," Lane spoke, her shoulders sagging.
"I know, we'll talk on the way," Rory smiled.
"Or now hear me out, you could take time to listen to her now and Dean can wait," Blair spoke up as Sookie approached them.
"Here you go!"
"Thank you Sookie."
Lorelai walked into the kitchen, "Hey, I have a locksmith coming to the house today, like 5-ish, I don't know how long it'll take so will you tell grandma and grandpa that I'm going to be late and that I'm having Satan's baby? You pick the order."
"And can you tell them that I won't be able to make it because I have too much homework please?" Blair asked.
"I'll relay the time message but I'm leaving the rest up to you," Rory told her mom before turning to Blair. "And you can tell them yourself."
"But you're going to be there and I'll be at V's with Nate, Lan, Mae and Gracie," she pointed out.
"You can't avoid them forever."
"Not forever, just for now."
"What is this?" Lorelai asked, lifting the paper bag up. "You hate rocky road cookies."
"I do not."
"Do too," Blair argued.
"Sorry that must be other daughter because Shmory because Blair likes them but Rory doesn't."
"I'm leaving now," she began to walk, a hand pulling her arm back.
"Wait a minute. I know who likes rocky-road cookies."
"Who?" Sookie asked.
"Dean. They're for Dean."
"She's bringing baked goods to a boy. Wow serious," Sookie smiled while Lane and Blair shared a look.
"I'm going because I can't be late again," Blair announced, looking to Lane. "Lane are you coming or are you staying here?" The two of them made their way out leaving Rory to the teasing of Lorelai and Sookie.
While the three of them walked down the street, Blair listened to Lane ramble on about Rich while Rory was too engrossed in her book. "I just can't believe it, I mean I've known him since the sixth grade but suddenly he's different. He's not gangly anymore. You remember how gangly he was?" Lane asked the twins, while Blair grimaced with a nod and a hum in agreement and Rory still wasn't paying attention.
"I'm sorry, what?"
Lane's face fell, "You're not listening to me."
"I am, I'm sorry," Rory apologised.
"But you're not or you would have heard her and you haven't," Blair argued.
"I just couldn't find my bookmark."
"You could have found it on the bus."
Rory ignored her sister's arguments and turned to Lane once again, "Okay, go ahead."
"Okay. Here are the problems facing the whole Bloominfeld-Kim situation."
"One: hyphenation would be a pain," Blair spoke up.
"Two: he's my band partner. Romance would be completely awkward. Three: he's never even looked at me like I'm a girl or something resembling one." The three of them sat on the bench, both Gilmore's listening to Lane's reasoning. "Four: there's no way I could convince my parents he was Korean but I can't help it. I'm obsessed. Did I tell you about his hair?"
"It's on his head, right?" Rory asked before a head popped between the gap between Lane and Rory.
"Hi," Dean greeted and Blair groaned.
"I'm going to Luke's," she told her sister, picking up her bag and slinging it over her shoulder. "Lane? Are you coming with me or staying with Rory and the stalker?"
"I'm going to stay," Lane gave the girl a tight lipped smile.
"You sure?"
"Yeah."
Blair was unconvinced that Lane wouldn't be third wheeling or just completely being ignored by Rory and she felt bad for leaving her with them but she couldn't stand or sit anywhere near Dean.
"Don't be late!" Rory called.
"I won't!"
"What's her problem with me?" Blair heard Dean ask the two girls on the bench.
"Ignore her," Rory waved him off.
Blair sat down next to Landon with a sigh, "I hate not going to the same school as you three now and I hate stalker boy."
"Who's stalker boy?" Landon asked, looking to Nate and Venus for answers.
"Dean, she calls him stalker boy because well he showed up wherever Rory was," Nate answered, the other boy nodding in understanding.
"Where's Mae and Gracie?" she asked, lifting her head up.
"Well Maeve decided she was too old to sit with her brother and his friends so she grabbed Gracie and sat over there," Venus pointed to the two girls sitting at the table by the window, still in view of the four teenagers with their muffins.
Blair glanced at the two girls, a small laugh leaving her lips. "Since when did they turn eighteen?" she asked sarcastically while scoffing. "Just last week Mae was my baby and now she's not even acknowledging me."
"She'll always be our baby, don't worry," Nate chuckled, placing a hand over Blair's.
"And mine!" Venus exclaimed. "I was also there when she was three days old and have been ever since!"
Landon watched the three of them bicker about who had been there longer and well neither of the girls were winning because they had both arrived at Nate's at the same time, both having begged Lorelai to let them go see the baby. They had begged her so much she banned them from using the word please for at least a week.
"Do you remember when you met her?" Nate asked the two girls. They both nodded.
"We begged my mom so much she banned us from saying the word please for at least a week," Blair chuckled. "I remember when we got to your house, you were holding her and looking out of the window for us and she was so tiny."
"And cute in her little pink onesie," Venus smiled, looking at the girl who she had watched grow up.
"Then when we got into the house you passed her to V and she spit up all over her uniform and she practically threw her to me," Blair reminded the girl, jumping when she felt someone wrap their arms around her neck.
"What are you talking about?"
"How little you were when me and V first met you," she looked over her shoulder at the girl.
"What about you? Do you remember the first time you met Gracie?" Nate asked Landon who now had the girl eating his muffin.
"I do," he nodded. "She was a week old and the first time I actually saw her was when my aunt passed me her car seat and told me to watch her for an hour while she went to the store. I didn't know what to do with her because I was nine and had never held a baby before. Luckily she slept for the whole hour and my aunt promised to never leave her with me until she got older and now she's glued to me."
"Hey!" Grace exclaimed. "You love me though."
"That's debatable," he muttered.
"Shut up."
Blair looked at her watch to see she was going to be late, "Well unfortunately for you lot I have to get to school or I'll be late so I'll see you when I get home."
"Bye," they all waved, Maeve kissing her cheek before she left.
"You were nearly late," Rory scolded as the girl held onto the bench for support.
"Yeah, key word nearly," she panted.
"Shut up and get on the bus," Rory rolled her eyes.
─•~❉᯽❉~•─
Blair sat in her lesson, shocked they were early but slightly happy that she had to sit next to Paris but it could have been worse, she could have had to sit next to Fallon like Rory. The brunette's eyes wandered to where her sister was sitting but her eyes didn't look at Rory's head, they fell on the redhead. Fallon must have felt her eyes on her because she ended up catching her eyes. The girl's face flushed red that she'd been caught.
"How was your second birthday party?" Paris whispered to Blair. "Sorry I couldn't make it."
"It's alright," she gave her a small smile. "It was good."
"Well that's good," Paris looked at the girl.
"Yeah."
The two fell into a silence yet again, it wasn't awkward like Blair had originally thought it would be but she was proved wrong. The teen was also so focused on staring at Fallon that she missed the looks Paris gave her.
From beside Rory, Fallon tapped the girl. "What?" Rory asked, annoyed at the interruption.
"What's your sister's deal?"
"What are you talking about?" Rory asked, looking over her shoulder to see her sister doodling rather than talking notes. "She's just doodling?"
"No," Fallon shook her head. "She's staring."
"At her paper," Rory explained slowly, as if the girl was stupid.
"No. At me."
"Well you're vain. What's to say she's not staring out of the window? You know that clear thing that you're sitting next to."
"Because I can feel her burning holes into the back of my head."
"You're probably overthinking it. She's most likely just staring at the window, she does that a lot," Rory explained, going back to her work while Fallon looked back at Blair who was still doodling but she stole a glance at Paris who was looking at Blair as if she hung the stars. That was the way she wished Tristan would look at her but instead just like Paris, he too was looking at Blair like she hung the stars and Blair couldn't be more oblivious if she tried.
Blair ignored the feeling of three sets of eyes on her as she shifted in her seat, sinking further down hoping that she could go home soon.
─•~❉᯽❉~•─
"The snow is really bad, you're not going to be able to get home," Rory stated the obvious as the two of them stood outside their grandparents house, Lance had picked them up early.
Blair sighed, "Looks like I'm stuck here with you."
"Oh wow, thanks."
"Not you. I'm not mad, I'm stuck with you, it's grandma and grandpa. Do you think you could distract them so I can sneak-"
"Nope. If I have to suffer, so do you." Rory opened the door, looking at Blair to make sure she was following her in. As they walked further into the house they heard their grandmother on the phone.
"I'd rather be stuck in a room with both Fallon and Paris and let them take turns at having a go at me than be stuck here," Blair whispered to her twin, earning a tap on the arm.
"Wait a sec, did I just hear that we'd have to stay overnight?" Blair asked, her eyes wide.
"Shut up," Rory tapped her again. "Hey grandma!"
"Rory and Blair are here," Emily told whoever was on the phone, they assumed it was their mom.
Emily passed Rory the phone, "It's your mother."
"I can't believe she's left us to the vultures."
"Didn't you live here for fifteen years?"
"Yes and like I said, it was like being left to the vultures."
Blair sat opposite Rory at the table doing her homework as their grandma argued with someone on the phone and their grandpa sat reading the paper. "I'm going to ring Nate, see how Mae's chicken's are doing. If they notice I'm gone will you tell them I've gone to the toilet please?"
"Sure," Rory nodded.
"Thanks," Blair smiled and rushed up the stairs with her bag. She opened the door to her old room, it had been left the same way it was when she left. The brunette sat on her bed, rooting through her bag to find her phone and press Nate's contact.
"Hey," Nate greeted when he answered. "You okay?"
"Well I'm stuck at my grandparents overnight, so I'm as okay as you can be when dealing with them."
"Oh," Nate laughed.
"How are Mae's chicken's doing?"
"They're good."
"Good and how's Mae?"
"Complaining that she's cold and that next time she sees you, you can say I told you so."
Blair laughed, "Well that was already going to happen. How are you?"
"Tired. Lan said Mae could sleep at his so I can sleep without Mae keeping up and he said Gracie had been begging for another sleepover," he told her while he sat down.
"Are you going to be alright? I can get my mom to come over if you want?" she asked.
"No I'll be alright," he reassured her.
There was a knock at the door which delayed Blair's reply as she looked at the now open door to reveal her sister. "Sorry. Grandma's looking for you," Rory apologised.
"I have to go but I'll see you when I get home," Blair felt bad that she had to go.
"It's alright, I'll see you when you get back," Nate ended the call.
The teen stood up and made her way to the door, she turned to see if Rory was following her but the girl was still standing in the same place as she was. "Are you alright?" Blair asked, confused as to why her sister had looked like she needed to ask her something but was too scared too.
"Fallon was asking me questions earlier," she spoke up, her eyes still on the floor rather than looking at her sister.
"What questions?"
"Questions about you staring at her," Rory replied.
"I was looking out of the window."
"Okay."
"You don't believe me?"
"If you say you were looking out the window then you were looking out of the window."
Blair gave her sister a look before exiting her room, not wanting to speak about the redhead anymore, knowing that she'd most likely pull her up on it the next time she saw her.
─•~❉᯽❉~•─
The twins ventured back upstairs while their grandpa was on the phone and their grandma was busy and looking out of the window waiting for the snow to pass and their pizza to cook got boring. Rory explored their mom's old room while Blair laid on the bed. "Did you ever play with the dollhouse?"
"Yeah," she nodded. "Used to love it, it was my favourite." She noticed her sister's silence while looking at a photo strip, one she had seen many times. "I used to use that as a bookmark."
"You've known about this the whole time?"
"Well, I lived here for fifteen years, Rory," she explained as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, which to her it was. "It got boring having them pick away at your every move so I used to sneak in here and look around."
The phone began ringing and Rory answered, tapping Blair to move to the other side of the bed while she answered it. Blair was messing with the snow globes on the bedside table when Emily came into the room in a panic. "There you both are," she exclaimed.
"I think the phones went dead," Rory stated.
"It's probably just this horrible storm. You must come downstairs immediately."
"Why what happened?" Blair stood up.
"The stove is buzzing."
"It's probably just the timer, grandma," Rory tried to ease the woman's panic.
"I know it's the timer, Rory. What I don't know is where it's located or how to turn it off."
"But I really need to call Lane back."
"I'll sort it," Blair smiled, making her way out of the room with her grandma following. "Let's go."
After Blair had turned the timer off and showed Emily where it was and how to do it, Rory got the pizza out and put it on a plate. She knew that what she was showing her grandma was pointless because she always had a maid to do it for her, the same way she had and all of the maids before they got fired ended up being Blair's best friends.
While Emily was putting parmesan cheese on Richard's pizza, Rory had disappeared upstairs and came back with a book. "I found this in mom's room."
"What's that?" Emily asked, Blair sat up straighter to catch a glimpse of the black photo book that she used to flick through when she was younger.
"Pictures."
"Oh my goodness, I haven't seen that in years," Emily sat down and opened the book while Blair stood at the side of her grandpa.
Blair watched her grandparents reminisce over the photos with a small smile. Until it got to the photo of Lorelai in her debutante dress and a tension had filled the room that made Blair uncomfortable but Rory kept asking questions. "Mom had a coming out party?" Rory asked, looking at her sister rather than the redhead sitting beside her.
"No, she didn't," Richard replied.
Richard's reply made Rory's face fall in realisation before she stopped asking questions, "Oh."
"Yes well, things happen, don't they?" Emily asked, closing the book.
"If you'll excuse me. I have some business calls to make," Richard walked away.
"I'll go get that coffee," Emily walked to the kitchen leaving the two girls to look at the rest of the photos on their own.
Rory closed the photo album and looked at Blair, "Are you going to bed now?"
"Yeah," the girl rubbed her eyes.
Blair laid on her bed, wrapped in a blanket that was stuffed in her closet as well as her comforter about to fall asleep when Rory opened the door and poked her head in to see her twin still awake.
"What's up with you?"
"It's too cold, can I stay in here with you?" Rory asked. Blair nodded, moving over so her sister could get in the bed. A silence filled the room so Blair took the silence as Rory was asleep. It was only during the silence that she felt she could be honest with her sister, the time when she thought her honesty would go unheard.
"I wasn't really looking at the window you know," Blair muttered into the darkness, hoping her sister couldn't hear her as she turned to face the window and eventually she fell asleep watching the snow fall.
"I know," Rory muttered back but Blair was asleep.
─•~❉᯽❉~•─
The twins didn't mention the conversation they both thought went unheard by one another as they bidded their grandparent's goodbye and ventured home.
They thanked Lance when he opened their doors and they made their way up the porch steps, Blair reaching for the door handle only for the door to be opened and their mother appearing. "Hi!" the woman smiled.
"Hi?"
"What's up?"
"Nothing. What's up with you?" Lorelai asked them quickly.
"You have something to tell us," Rory spoke.
"You're so smart. Right, okay, here we go. I've got a boy in the house," she confessed.
"You what?" the girls asked in unison, their faces holding confused looks.
"Nothing happened, I swear. He slept the whole night on the couch and you know him."
"We do?"
"And you like him. I don't know if that's relevant. I just thought that I would throw that in there."
"Is it Luke?" Blair asked.
"No," she shook her head as she opened the door so the girls could walk through it.
The Gilmore's stood at the top of the couch, looking at the man occupying their couch. The man that certainly wasn't Luke Danes. "It's Mr Medina," Rory whispered.
"I know," Lorelai whispered back.
"Our English teacher is on our couch," Blair whispered, her hand gesturing to the sleeping man, slightly weirded out at the fact she was watching him sleep even if it was on her couch.
"It was the snow," Lorelai shrugged. "You know how I get. It's like catnip! I was walking, he was there. His car was broken, we had fiesta burgers. It was the snow! Can one of you say something?"
Rory walked away from their mom and towards her bedroom while Blair shrugged, "If he makes you happy then I'm happy. Can I go see Nate?"
"Thank you and yeah but go change into something warmer." Blair stood on her tiptoes to bring her mom into a hug before changing and leaving.
Blair knocked on Nate's door, smiling when Maeve opened the door. "Where's your brother?"
"Hello to you too," Maeve muttered sarcastically as the girl hung her coat up and put her shoes on the shoe rack.
"Hi Mae," she greeted. "Now where's your brother?"
"In the kitchen."
"Thanks," she kissed the top of the girl's head.
"So, do you want to have a snowball fight or are you both too old?" Maeve asked, leaning her chin on her arm. "Me and G against you two?"
Blair and Nate shared a look with a smile before turning to the two girls, "Go on then. Go get your coats and shoes."
The four of them were outside, Blair and Gracie's hair was soaked, Nathan's hands were red and Maeve's shoes were soaked. Blair and Nathan were winning which seemed to be unfair since they were older but the way the teams were Maeve's idea.
Blair felt a snowball hit the back of her head, she gasped at the force but confused since everyone was in front of her. "Thought you could have a snowball fight and not include us? I thought this was our thing?" Venus asked, a hand over her heart in a joking way.
"V you're on our side," Nate told her, throwing a snowball at Maeve and hitting her square in the face. The cold seemed colder when it hit Nate in the face courtesy of Grace. "Ow!"
"You'll survive," Maeve stuck her tongue out at her brother cheekily.
The six of them had decided to go inside and warm up since they all felt like their hands were going to drop off with them being so cold. Gracie had changed into some of Maeve's warmer clothes while Venus wore some of Blair's and Landon borrowed some of Nate's. The six of them were sitting in the Lockwood's living room watching tv with the fire on.
