DEAR JACK,
Keep me in your mind,
Even when you are determined to forget me.
Veer away from the idea of losing me to someone else.

THE CAMP HAD GOTTEN WORD THAT THE ANGELS HAD FLED FROM MICHAEL'S FORTRESS. Mary had felt that it was on her to include Rose after their talk. To know that change was possible and the idea of Constance could be forgotten, she was willing to do anything, even if the unknown consequences would affect Rose deeply.
At Michael's fortress, Mary had stood between Jack and Rose with her guns drawn, prepared to face any angel that had chosen to stay behind. To her luck, none had been there. Quickly stashing away her gun, she moved away to allow Jack and Rose to stand with one another as her eyes traveled across the room. "I really hate this place."
Both had nodded in agreement. Ahead of them, a map had been laid out containing Michael's plans for his soldiers. The three had approached the map as they looked it over. It all seemed so simple to have walked in on no angels and a given plan. It was too unsettling to shake off.
The doors behind them had flew open, causing them to turn to find Jakob, one of their own, help carry in one of the enemy. "Look who we found in the dungeon." Jakob had grabbed the back of the person's head, forcing them to look up at the rest of them. "The prophet."
Rose had tilted her head to the side as she watched Kevin Tran standing before her. She had known that there was a part of her that would ache to see him standing before her and she desperately tried to cling onto this feeling. To Mary, it would seem as if she was trying.
Jakob hadn't seen this struggle to understand her feelings. All he had seen was a vicious demon with a hunger to kill. Jerking Kevin towards him, he pulled harder on his hair as he smiled at Rose. His smile was cruel, knowing that he had the upper hand on her. "We get answers before you kill, demon."
Rose had begun to take a step forward, daring Jakob to test her, but Mary's grip had held on tight. She gently pulled her back, hoping to gather her focus and figure out Michael's plans. Still, Jakob had not liked either Rose or Mary. He was forceful as he threw Kevin towards the ground. In that moment, there was a spark in Rose.
She had known that it was not the same Kevin, but it was the same face that had fought to keep her safe, held her secrets close to his heart, and made her laugh when there were times that she swore she never could again. And as that moment had hit her, she had broken free from Mary's grip as she scrambled to help him back onto his feet.
Grabbing her arms as she steadied him, Kevin was desperate and his eyes told her so. "I-I'm a prophet of the Lord. I serve God!"
Rose pushed his hands off of her, realizing her moment of weakness. Taking a step back, she gave him a reassuring nod. "Yeah, we know.
"I never believed in anything. Well, except science— quantum mechanical unpredictably— but then the end of the world happened and everyone around me..." His eyes had darted around the room in a panic as he tried to explain himself. All the eyes on him had turned his panicky state into a defensive one. "My friends and my mom, they all started to die. But God chose me? Wh-what does that even mean? Michael said he wanted to save the world, not kill it! Buts he's hurt so many people. When I couldn't perfect the spell, Michael, he got mad and threw me in the dungeon. And I-I was so scared but I fixed it but then..."
The moment that Kevin had went for a breath of air, Rose interrupted him. "Stop talking. Just tell us what spell."
Surprised by her stern voice, he shook his head to get his thoughts on the right track, "There's a place in the south where the walls between worlds are thin. Michael's gonna use a spell from the angel tablet to open the rift and then he's..."
"He'll invade our world," Jack finished for him. Looking over to him, Rose noticed the look on his face had been one that she had not seen on him before. Rose could tell that he had radiated jealousy and her frown deepened.
She stepped back from Kevin as she turned back towards Jack. "Then we stop him, right? We can do that."
"We can go right now," Jack said quickly, "Rose and I— we can surprise Michael and we can kill him. We can't let him cross over. We know where he is."
"Do we?" Mary questioned. The thought of the two leaving to attempt a fight with Michael was unsettling to her. Not only did it put them each in harms way, but if they had lost them both, not only would the camp lose the best defense they had, Sam and Dean would never forgive her. "He could've used this map as bait. Bobby's only a day out. We should wait."
"Mary's right," Kevin said from next to Rose causing Jack to roll his eyes. "Michael, he never does anything without reason."
"I say we let the archangel go. Let Michael be some other worlds problem for a change," Jakob said. His arms crossed as he raised a brow at Rose, "Send the demon with him too."
"I'll kill you before I go," Rose shot back.
"Rose, enough," Mary sighed. "No one is killing anyone yet. That includes Michael."
Jack couldn't understand what he had been listening. As far as he was concerned, this could be over by tonight. "I'm going to kill Michael. Rose did not die for nothing. We're stronger than him alone and together. He doesn't stand a chance! He's scared of us and we could end this now!"
"Wait!" Kevin called out, every eye on him now. His eyes had darted around the room in a sheer panic. "This is the demon Michael talks about? He told me about her. I mean... kind of. I just listened in. The you from this universe, I met her once, she was supposed to be Michael's key weapon to win the war but then she was killed. Then you came and he said you were different. You were worse. I don't get it."
"Maybe because I'm not his weapon," she suggested. "Michael's a coward. And if he thinks leaving this place and going to our world is his best option, he's a bigger coward than we thought. Not only that, Sam and Dean are in that world. He's screwed either way."
Kevin frowned, unsure what Rose had been saying. There was no one in this world feared by the name Sam or Dean. "Listen, he wanted me to lure you here but after I started to open the rift..."
"That's a lie," Jack snapped. "Michael would never use you to get to Rose."
"Hey, buddy, wasn't my idea," Kevin said back to him. "I don't even know why! I didn't even know Rose! Just the stories! Look, man, I'm really freaked out right now." He looked around the room with wide eyes, "I would never like a demon."
Rose had crossed her arms in annoyance as she looked back to Kevin. There was a strong glare set on him. "We dated in my world so get over yourself."
Wide eyed, Kevin shook his head frantically. "I would never date a demon. What am I, crazy?"
Scoffing in offense, Rose looked up to him, "We loved each other. Even when my dad cut your finger off..."
"Excuse me?"
"Hey, I saved you!"
"I-I just— I don't know what to think, okay? I don't know you."
That spark in Rose that told her there was human left in her felt as if it would vanish at any moment. But there was a pain as she listened to Kevin's hurtful words, words her Kevin never would have said to her. "Apparently I don't know you either. So let's just figure out the plan already."
Sensing the need to change the subject, Mary sighed, "No one leaves. We wait for Bobby and see where we go from there."
Looking over to Jack, Rose gave him a nod to trust Mary. Even if the two were ready to run out the door with one another to put a stop to the war.
