Chapter 22 Pt 2.
The boys looked to each other then to Dylan. Louis looked pissed off while William just looked sad. Louis began to take a step toward Dylan when William pulled him back.
Dylan then came to my side, putting his arm around my shoulders. I tensed up, scared of the human next to me.
"Hey guys, nice to meet you" Dylan put his hand out for the boys to shake. They only looked at it then back to me.
Louis came closer to us. He looked at Dylan with anger, but when he looked at me, he almost looked sad.
"I think you need to leave man" Louis said, but in a deep voice.
Dylan looked taken back. He looked to me before bringing me closer in a somewhat side hug kind of way. "Uh no, zami invited me to this thing." He looked at me, raising his eyebrows. Giving me a smirk that I know all too well.
I looked over to the boys who gave me confused faces. When I didn't answer Dylan, he squeezed my shoulder, causing me to slightly wince. Louis must've noticed because he walked a step closer to me, hand out in front of him.
"Yeah" I looked up. "I uh bumped into him at the store and invited him." Dylan grinned at the response and looked back to the two boys still looking at us confused.
"So whatcha say, let's leave zami alone to cook us men some dinner while we watch a movie."
Before I could look back at the two, Dylan nudged me into the kitchen. I heard him turn onto the tv and relax onto the couch. I could still see the two standing in the middle of the dining room. I didnt have the courage to look up at them. I'm just glad they don't know who he is or what he did.
I was stirring the pasta sauce then turning to the cutting board that had cut up strawberries on the side when I heard someone call my name from the other room. I walked towards them.
"What's up?" I asked the three. Dylan sat comfortably while the two boys sat on opposite ends looking strangely uncomfortable. Louis again looking mad.
"Get us three a drink" Dylan waved his hand at me, his eyes not bothering to leave the tv.
Louis got up. "I'll get it." Dylan finally decided to look away. "No, zami could get it, right zami?" He glared at me as he finished the sentence.
"No I got it dude." Louis then walked into the kitchen, me following after him.
He grabbed glasses out of the cupboard as I continued cutting the strawberries.
"Who is he?" I heard Louis whisper. I looked up, he was filling the glasses up with soda. Opening the freezer to grab some ice cubes. "Excuse me?" I questioned him.
He finally turned to me. "Who is he Azami?" Louis said with a deep tone, scaring me.
"He's just a friend from the school I went to before I left" lying through my teeth. I went to the sauce pan, stirring it. I noticed Louis get closer to me. I tensed up.
"He's the Dylan from the box right? The one you said that didn't belong to you, but it actually does."
"I don't know what you're talking about." I ignored his gaze.
"Except you do." With that he walked away.
I let out a sigh. Tears brimming my eyes once more. I clutched the edge of the table. Trying to calm my racing heart.
Once the food was done, and I set up the table by myself, since Dylan told the boys that I'm a "big girl" I called them into the room. I was getting their drinks when Dylan decided to sit at the head of the table, which was my seat.
The boys gave me a look, William giving me a nod which I think hinted something, but I couldn't tell.
I sat down in Louis's seat instead which he offered. *Okay so the table is like 6 seat tables where 2 seats on each side then 1 on each end* Dylan sat on my right side, Louis on the other and Willie in front of me.
"Dig in you guys" I gave them a nervous smile. I saw Louis start to grab some pasta, when Dylan grabbed my hand. I tried to move my hand away, fear shaking in my body, but Dylan only held on tighter.
He gritted his teeth through a forced smile. "C'mon Zami, you know what to do when you serve food to me" I felt my insides go queasy. Towards the end of Dylan and I's relationship, he always used to make me put food onto his plate. Like I was his servant. He did this everywhere, didn't matter where we were, he always made me do it, if I didn't then he'll take me somewhere and make sure I know to do it next time. It was embarrassing, even though we were 16 almost 17, he treated me like I was a kid.
I got up and grabbed his plate, putting a good amount of food onto it, making sure he got what he wanted. He had a mischievous grin glued to his face, while the boys looked at me bewildered. I didn't have the guts to look at them, it was all too embarrassing.
When I was done and gave Dylan back his plate, I was about to sit down when I felt a hand smack my ass. Hard. I looked back in shock. Dylan still wearing the devil like grin. Louis got up, coming in between us, while Willie got up and pulled me to the other side of the table.
"Dude what the actual fuck!" Louis said in Dylan's face. Dylan only stared at him, slowly getting up, maintaining eye contact.
"Is there a problem?" He whispered, unfazed by Louis's yelling.
That only pissed Louis off more. He pushed Dylan back into his chair. "Uh yeah, you just slapped Ami's ass! You can't do that!"
I saw Dylan getting into a familiar stance, oh no. I quickly ran between them, blocking Louis. Dylan took a look at me and stopped.
"STOP IT" I yelled at the two, Louis looked shocked behind me, while Dylan smirked and sat down, proceeded to eat his dinner like nothing happened.
"Can we just eat dinner, please?" I looked desperately at the two boys who remained standing up, they nodded when they heard the distress in my voice.
We all sat down, I looked back onto my plate like nothing happened. I felt Louis dragging my chair closer to him, farther from Dylan.
There was awkward tension in the air, Only the sounds of the our chewing and the faint laughter from the tv. I felt the boys eyes on me, but I didn't look back.
"You know zami, we should hang out again, like the old times, you didn't even tell me you were back in town." I stopped chewing, I looked at Dylan, waiting for a response.
I didn't have anything to say back. I didn't want to hang out with him. I know how the night would end and I don't think I can handle that. I sat there speechless. Willie understood my silence and pitched in.
"Oh uh we're actually going to be busy the next few weeks, or months that we're staying here." Dylan turned to him. He looked cold in his eyes. "Oh? What are you doing? I can tag along it doesn't matter."
I heard Louis scoff loudly next to me. I squirmed in my seat when Dylan slowly looked at him.
"Something you wanna say?" Louis now looked up.
"Yeah, actually I do" He stopped to look at me. "You just invited yourself to something the three of us are doing ourselves and it made me think...no, no it made me realize, that Ami here didn't invite you to dinner." Louis put his arm around my shoulder defensively, Dylan looked at the two of us, anger showing in his eyes. "You invited yourself, which in my opinion is kind of rude." Louis shrugged, taking a swig of his drink.
Dylan paused for a moment, trying to think of what to say. "I mean I thought it'd be okay considering Ami and I are back together."
I snapped my head back up in shock. He did not just-
I looked at him straight in the eyes, "We're not together."
Dylan ignored me, "We took a break before she left for London, but since she's here now, we're back together of course."
I was about to reply when Willie cut in. "Didn't you say you didn't know she was in town?"
Silence.
"You know what, I kind of have to go to the bathroom, drank too much soda" I looked at his cup...it was more than half full. "Ami be a good hostess and show me the way."
I didn't have time to deny, before Dylan grabbed ahold of my shoulder and push me ahead, leaving two worried boys behind and an anxious me in front. I know what's going to happen and I'm terrified.
