After taking a sip of some water, I began, "Okay so a couple days ago..."

Flashback starts ( in third person ) :

Kaya was seen skating down the road of an empty, quiet neighborhood. Peace was heard outside, but she did not hear none due to the loud music blasting in her ears. Therefore she could not hear the three friends bickering in a random driveway.

"I don't know where to go!" One cried out, they sat in the drivers seat, clearly stressed due to the unfamiliarity of the car, their friends had put them in.

"Stop stressing, Willie, its the same as your car, and lets just go for a spin." The girl in passengers told him, she had given her friend the keys to her car that only drove stick. Which made her friend worry, he doesn't know how to drive stick.

"Shut up and go Will!" The third friend had yelled from his seat in the back. He was nervous him and his friends would get caught parked in a strangers driveway and he was not in the mood to get yelled at.

Willie, as his friends called him, who was in the drivers seat put his hands onto the wheel and switched the gear shift, doing everything right except for one thing. He didn't check behind him.

If he had checked behind him, he would have seen the girl who was about the go down the street directly behind the moving car. But if the girl who was skating down the street had put in her contacts in that morning or looked up from the ground at least, she would have noticed the car backing up.

Neither of them did.

So as Kaya skated down the road oblivious to the stressed teens in the car backing out of the driveway, the two collided.

"Oh my fucking-" Was all that Willie sputtered out before his two friends jumped out of the car, to aid the girl who was now laying on the ground. Her eyes droopy, the last they saw was the two panicked teens at her side, with another hovering above her, his face in his hands.

"What the hell do we do?" Louis cried out, his hands softly touching the girls back as he tried to shake her awake.

"Um um hold on." Azami, checked the girls head for any bleeds then her body for any bruises or open wounds of any kind. "Okay she seems okay, she doesn't have any injuries, what should we do now?"

William was the only one standing as he paced beside the car, his eyes flickering between the girl on the ground and his best friends car.

"This is why you shouldn't have let me drive Ami!" He told her. The wide awake girl looked at her, annoyed with the worried boy.

"You literally taught me how to drive, the fuck you going on about! Your fault you didn't check both ways dumbass." She yelled back at him.

William stared at the two at the floor whose eyes were on the girl. "Can we bring her to your house Will?"

"Hell no, I wouldn't know what to do...Tim either" Louis rolled his eyes.

"Not you two, I meant to your parents." Willie shook his head.

"No no not my parents, they won't know what to do." Ami and Louis shared a look.

"Are you fucking- Will, they're doctors. They're fucking surgeons!" Ami exclaimed from the ground, then the girl started to stir, her body starting to ache and her eyes began to flutter.

Kaya's eyes opened to see two people hovering over her, their eyes wide open, another guy at her feet, biting at his fingers.

"Um hi- hello." Kaya laid at the ground, her eyes looking at the sky trying to ignore the awkward gaze Louis and Ami gave her.

"Oh- oh help her up, Lou." Both of them took ahold of Kaya's arms as they helped her up. William walking away to retrieve her board that seemed to slip a few feet away.

Ami helped Kaya dust her pants off when Willie approached her, his cheeks red with guilt and embarrassment, Kaya's face filled with the same.

"Here you go." The boy whispered. Kaya looked up to meet his eyes. She drew in a sharp breath. His eyes are captivating, she thought to herself. She felt her heart start to beat a little faster and her hands getting a bit sweaty.

"Oh thank you." She replied, taking the board into her hands.

William couldn't get a good look at since Kaya kept her head down, though William would have to bend down a bit just to be in the same eye level as her.

"Um are you okay?" William started to ask, his arm hung around his neck, the other just hanging as his side, "It's totally my fault, I didn't look both ways when you were coming down."

Kaya started to deny really quickly, "Oh no, no worries, I should've looked up to see your car backing out. And I'm fine, it's all good." William nodded his head.

Ami and Louis decided to join each other at their sides, engaging in a conversation to leave the two alone, but were secretly eavesdropping on their talk.

"I'm um- usually a good driver but this isn't my car, so" William told her, pointing at the car behind him.

"Oh okay, well at least you know how to drive, I only skate." She brought up the skateboard to her head, deeply regretting it as she thought it was embarrassing when William eyed it.

Before William can offer to teach her, she was quick to say, "Well I better get going, thanks by the way...for not leaving me on the side of the road." She said, turning her face to Louis and Ami at the last bit.

Ami stepped forward, "You want a ride? I'll be the one driving this time." Kaya thought about it for a second. She did hate the feeling of nerves she gets after a fall on her board, but then again, she doesn't know these people. She's new to the neighborhood, she shouldn't let people give her a ride to her house when she first meets them.

So she shook her, nicely declinely, "Oh no it's okay, I'm not too far so it's fine." She nodded her head at them, giving them a forced smile.

"You sure?" Ami asked again.

"Yep yep, totally fine, I'll get going, nice meeting you guys!" Kaya called out as she skated down the road, leaving the three to watch her go.

"We didn't get her name." Ami whispered, slightly sad she didn't make a new friend. "Do you think she likes boba?"

Louis groaned at his girlfriend, "Darling just because she's asian doesn't mean she likes boba." The two started to get into the car, only Ami climbed into the drivers seat with Louis accompanying the passengers.

William stayed out a bit to watch Kaya turn the corner into the next neighborhood over, slightly disappointed he didn't catch her name. He let out a sigh when he saw the girls shiny brown hair move in the sun as she left his view. "Let's go, my familys probably starving, waiting for their boba." Willie piped up as he entered the car.

Flashback Over ( back into Kaya's pov )

"And I turned the corner, and skated home." I ended my story, taking a sip of the water I was holding in my hands.

Cheers erupted as I saw Louis score a goal. Louis and William shared a "bro hug" before Louis ran to Azami giving her a real hug and a kiss on her forehead. Her smile so bright and cheerful stayed on her face as she watched Louis return back on the field.

I felt Raelee lay back against the trunk of the tree with a sigh. "That was probably the most boring yet interesting story I've ever heard."

I scoffed at the girl as Claire reached over to punch her arm.

"I thought it was romantic. Who knows maybe this is the beginning of your love story with the one and only William Karev." The lovesick girl declared beside me as I turned around back to Raelee still laying against the tree to finish my lunch.

The game was still going on behind me, though I had no care for it as I didn't understand the game of football. I continued on with my lunch with the burning feeling of someone's eyes on me.

(third persons pov)

With Kaya's back turned to the game going on behind her, she was oblivious to the people around her and the eyes that begged her to turn around to meet theirs.

William was playing offense, waiting in the middle of the field for someone to pass him the ball. His eyes darting around the players when they got caught in the familiarity of the shiny brown hair that still managed to shimmer under the shade of the wide tree it sat under.

His body stopped as his mind went blank, the only thing repeating was his mind begging the girl to turn around. Maybe it's her, he thought, the girl he had almost ran over that afternoon days before.

Turn around, turn around, he whispered under his breath. He was so caught up on his concentration, he didn't realize his teammate was running down the field, their foot pressing against the ball in Williams direction.

The ball had hit directly in the middle of Williams chest, catching his breath and making him fall in shock and slight pain.

Everyone groaned as they watched the boy fall. Teammates ran to his aid when William opened his eyes, still falling on the girls hair noticing it was now moving. Finally, he thought, but then his view was blocked by Louis and Ami who were on their knees asking if he was okay.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." He waved them off along with the other teammates at his side, when he got up and was now towering over his peers, he looked under the tree to see the girl was gone. His eyes looked around the field, but he came up short.

"Oi William, cmon!" A teammate yelled, shaking the boy from his thoughts.

William started to jog down the field as Kaya made her way back to the tree after throwing her trash away. The nearest trash can being all the way by the entrance. She had gotten up when she saw William fall, but Raelee had pushed her empty food container into her hands, begging her to throw it away. She never met Williams eyes like she was supposed to.

anyways i wrote this in my a/n for lou but i'm publishing this first since i'm not done with lou yet but i just want to say

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 100K ON DARLING- like i cannot explain it enough how grateful i am for all of you and for that book. the stuff i write mean so much to me and i'm so glad you love it as much as i do ! this was such a huge milestone for me and i'm so glad i was able to share it with all of you <33 thank you from the bottom of my heart seriously
