𝙄𝙉 𝙒𝙃𝙄𝘾𝙃 — 𝘢 𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘷𝘦𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘢 𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘢𝘴, 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭.

For many years, Botanica has functioned
through structure. Everything was perfectly in order, and everything was perfectly perfect. You may wonder what 'perfect' meant to the floral people of Botanica. Well, it means that everyone plays their role in the global garden. Flowers pull the most weight in the garden, according to Botanica's population. This is why they're given the most respect, they do as they please. Plants on the other hand are in the middle of the food-chain. They do what's required of them, never anything extra or more. Society likes plants, but they aren't flowers. Then there's the weeds. To put it bluntly? They're pests with no purpose, but to hold a flower's bags. Typically, weeds are subject to servitude. Though, as time has gone on, and people have become more progressive, weeds have developed into regular citizens, much to the distress of the flowers, who see this as a threat to their perfect garden.

Rosette's Greenery is a beloved high school for the more prestigious flowers. It was founded by one of the original Red Roses, and is the gold-standard for continuing flower legacies. The current headmistress is Rosalind Rosa, the grandmother of the current Red Rose, who is attending the school. As a result of the Weed Inclusion Act, passed by the Botanical state legislature, Rosette's Greenery is opening its doors to weeds for the first time. Though, for a weed to attend the school, there are two requirements. They must be outstanding in some aspect, whether that's athletics or intelligence. And they must take a class in servitude, which will be held by Diana Tulipa, a professor at Rosette's Greenery. The rules have basically guaranteed that most weeds will not be allowed to attend, spitting in the face of weeds everywhere.

Though, when the students of Rosette's Greenery discover that weeds will be attending, and even be allowed amongst the flowers? Most flowers are in dismay, discussing how interacting with weeds may cause them to wilt or even kill their legacy. The faculty and parents are doing nothing to combat this as the majority of them agree with the floral students, and believe that it's a terrible idea. Though, as we enter this Class of 1886's Junior year, chaos is building. Flowers are coming in with aggression, weeds are fearfully entering the prestigious school for the first time, and the plants are stuck in between it, being forced to take sides. Everyone is being forced against each other, and the school year is predicted to be the collapse of Botanical culture as a whole. Will the flowers and weeds set aside their differences and manage to survive the year? Are the flowers right, and the weeds will threaten their perfect lives? There isn't anyway to tell until the Spring of 1886, when the new school year begins.

⚘ 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 ⚘
This is probably the most simple rule to understand, and should be common sense. If you're going to join this applyfic, you're required to treat others with kindness. I understand that sometimes, it's hard to like a person, or maybe you hate their character, but do not treat them poorly. I don't tolerate hate speech in my applyfics, and I won't start now with one of my favorite ones yet. If you can't be kind, don't join.

⚘ 𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 ⚘
Diversity is essential to the plot of this book. When creating characters, please keep diversity in mind. Now, I'm going to go ahead and stress this, racism, homophobia, and sexism practically does not exist in this Universe. The flowers are focused more on hierarchy than they are little details about a flower. You can still add diversity to your character in these areas, just keep in mind, there's really not a reason for them to be afraid of coming out. If they're a weed, maybe they've suffered descrimination, but outside of that, it'll be few and far between.

⚘ 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐒 ⚘
Faceclaims aren't that strict at all! I'm going to ask that the faceclaim looks like they could pass for the age of your character, which by the way, should be 16-17, since this is their Junior year. In some way, make your character resemble the plant that you have picked for them. This is really the only requirements. Influencers, actors, and models are all perfectly fine faceclaims! The only requirement is to have more than one picture of them. I don't want stock photos, please!

⚘ 𝐋𝐎𝐑𝐄 ⚘
There will be a much more in-depth chapter based around information on Botanica, but as of now this is the basis. Botanica is a country within 'The Global Garden', which just refers to different countries of flowers, plants, and weeds. Botanica is a bit more accepting than other countries in the Global Garden, and is considered to be the most wealthy, respected place to live in the entire nation, it's where the elites go. Rosette's Greenery Academy is a school in Botanica, where highly-respected plants and flowers go to school. This story takes place the year that the school opens to weeds, the discriminated against class of vegetation. Every plant has a legacy, which is passed down from one plant to another. The floral people have many flower-like abilities and quirks, though it's important to remember— they're still human! This will be expanded upon more, but this is just a summary! A combination of Ever After High and flowers, I guess! Keep in mind, being an elite does not make the flowers royal, just wealthy.

⚘ 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘-𝐒𝐔𝐄𝐒 ⚘
No, you cannot make a weed princess who is treated like trash because she's secretly the rainbow hidden princess black and gold rose. No, your character cannot be a weed who converts to a flower. No, your character will not be beat to a pulp by flowers, and then cradle by their love interest. Your character needs to have faults and positives, even if they're a weed. Stuff that y'know, makes them an actual character. Do not take this whole descrimination, hierarchy and turn it into a pity party. It's a serious issue for the society. This goes for male characters too, I notice Gary-Sues, don't play with me. You will not be accepted if your character falls under this umbrella. I will not take your form down, or call you out for it, but I definitely will notice it.

⚘ 𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐘 & 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋 ⚘
I'm someone who absolutely adores whenever forms are stacked with details. If you send in a form that lacks detail, please don't be surprised when your character isn't accepted. Details don't necessarily have to be long and wordy, they can be short and concise, straight to the point. I don't mind either way, I just think that it's important to have an actual character rather than just a name and a few traits. Do research on your flower, find ways to incorporate it into the character. Work on their legacy and what that means for them. I do require that your form has at least 1,000 words, so that I can write the character accurately. That doesn't necessarily mean that it has to be jam-packed with words, just make sure it hits that mark, please!

Please, don't be a ghost reader! If I can write an entire chapter, where your character is involved and plays an important role? You can write a few comments on the chapter. I understand anxiety when writing comments. I struggle so hard with it, but it gives author's motivation to comment. If you're going to be gone for a week or so, please let me know beforehand, so that I don't assume you're ignoring updates. I totally understand struggling to comment, but try your hardest, please! Hey y'all! This is Bed of Roses! I'm really proud of this plot, and I'm literally praying that it gets an audience, because I think that it has potential!
