"what do you mean, i don't have enough credits?" jaedam's voice echoed through the empty room.
"i've done all the assignments and exams to the extent of the passing grade, right?" jaedam was usually a chillax person, but she was at the point where she wanted to cry—she's worked so hard this year.
she doesn't understand why her guidance councilor is telling her she doesn't have enough credits to graduate this year. she even took summer school for extra credits.
"jaedam, calm down. i didn't mean to put it like that—you have more than enough credits to graduate." her guidance councilor spoke softly, trying to calm jaedam down.
"i've just noticed that your ranking has been rising, to the point where you could earn the scholarship award at your grade ten graduation this year." that surely caught jaedam's attention—she had thought she'd been slacking off because of how much procrastinating she has been doing when trying to study; this year, she's really trying though.
"i'd just like you to think about it. if you get the scholarship, you could choose to go to any university or collage you'd like to go to—all costs will be paid by the earned scholarship." she was trying to persuade jaedam.
she has seen her personality before and how lazy she is, but in reality she knows she's really smart. she sees how much effort she had been putting this starting semester as well.
jaedam was deciding if she was up for it or not—she knows herself the best, so does she think she could do it?
"what would be your recommendation of which classes i should take to earn the most credits?" jaedam hesitated in asking, but did anyway.
"well i know you can be pretty lazy.." her guidance councilor was more like a friend to jaedam then a school staff, and she didn't mind opening up to her at all. "..—i think i know a class just right for you; it doesn't include as much note taking and studying skills needed.."
"what is it?" jaedam raised her eyebrow intrigued.
"child development class." her guidance councilor smiled shyly.
"..—i'll think about it." jaedam said as she hugged her and walked out of the room.
