"Bokuto! Jesus Christ, what happened?" Daichi panicked as the seemingly fearless boy dove out of the water, panic written all over his face.

"Pull me up, please pull me up" Bokuto's voice was shaky, his hands felt like jello. It took Daichi all his strength to pull him up into the boat.

"What happened down there, I was monitoring you. You stopped and the  next thing I know you're frantically swimming here" Daichi couldn't help but worry about his friend. He has never seen him like this.

"Oikawa might be right after all..." he spoke as he caught his breath.

"Wha--? Mermaids? Are you sure you didn't get into contact with a plant of some sort?" Daichi thought that Bokuto was joking at first, but his expression wasn't lying.

"I didn't touch any plant, I was always above them.. But Daichi there really is something... Just as Oikawa said.. A man with a long fish tail.." Bokuto's breathing had calmed down a bit.

"Hmm... Interesting... Let's go back for now.. We'll take some photos later, we have our professional camera after all" Daichi decided on taking Bokuto back to the house. His mind was still skeptical about this whole thing, but now that his two bestfriends have seen this creature of some sort.....

It took them a few minutes to go back and Bokuto practically flew out of the boat, he had questions for Oikawa, billions of them.

The hot sand burned his feet, but that didn't stop him from sprinting towards the house. Once he was there he took a turn to the right and ran upstairs to their room where Oikawa was sleepinh peacefully.

"Oikawa!" he shook his friend, making the other groan in annoyance.

"..what?" he asked sleepily.

"The merman.. I saw him" with these Bokuto's words Oikawa's eyes shot open and he stared at Bokuto.

"What?" he asked in disbelief, so it wasn't a hallucination?

"I dove into the same spot as you, next to the kelp forest.. I saw him.. I even heard his voice.." Bokuto could feel his heart beating faster at the thought of the beauty that he saw underwater.

"Oh my god... Wait sit down.. What did he look like?" Oikawa let Bokuto sit down next to him.

"Dark hair, blueish eyes.. A long black-blue tail and he was as pale as snow. He looked like he was glowing.. And here.." Bokuto showed Oikawa his hand, a familiar mark was on it "Oikawa... What is even going on?"

"We saw different ones.. We're either making a massive discovery or we're on some kind of drugs" Oikawa sighed loudly.

They soon heard Daichi walking upstairs. He appeared to be just as stressed as them.

"I don't know what's going on, but I'll go and take pictures later on. We have our underwater camera, so I'll scan the area" Daichi still couldn't believe what he was saying.

Mermaids? Merman? What is this?

"Okay.. Just be careful.. I still can't believe what I saw.." Bokuto's mind kept travelling back to the moment when he appeared in front of him, his eyes were mesmerising...

"Wait.." Oikawa stood and took out his sketchbook out of the backpack. He started sketching something and the other two waited in suspense.

Oikawa was the most talented when it came to drawing, he would draw plants and such in order to identify them.

Quite a few minutes passed until Oikawa let out a sigh and showed what he drew to them. It was the merman that he saw.

"This is what I saw.. And yesterday... I met him again" Oikawa finally told the truth.

"Wait what?" both Daichi and Bokuto said in unison.

"When you found me outside... It was his fault" his voice was still stuck in Oikawa's head.

"What do you mean? Why was it his fault?" Bokuto asked as he was a tad scared.

"I couldn't sleep last night, so I stayed awake.. I heard someone singing.. The voice was beautiful and magical.. I couldn't control my body.. I kept walking and walking.. Without any hesitation I stepped into the water where I saw him. He was on a rock.. He spoke to me and told me that I'll probably never see him again, but assured me that they exist.. There's more than one or two... I think there's an entire population" Oikawa told his theory.

"Why haven't they been spotted then?" Daichi asked, Oikawa's theory did sound quite real.

"I don't know. Maybe they're hiding somewhere, I mean most of the areas here haven't been touched and we're the first ones to ever discover them... What if they really are there? What will we tell the chief?" Oikawa's eyes widened. Obviously their boss wouldn't believe them, and would fire them in an instant.

"Until we confirm that these mythical creatures might actually exist, we're not telling them anything. Don't even mention it in the report" Daichi said, he was quite serious about this.

"Wow, I never thought that you would believe us.." Bokuto turned to Daichi.

"I can't believe that I believe you.. But you two are my bestfriends.. I don't think you would lie to me about all this" Daichi smiled at them.

"Thank you.." Oikawa smiled back.

"You two rest. I'm gonna get the camera ready. I'll take some pictures" Daichi nodded and walked out of the room, determined to find something.

For those who read this chapter earlier - I'm sorry. I accidentally published it unfinished.

Ok, so I'm not usually the type of person to do this but I need to get it off my chest (and I'll mention this in a couple more fanfics).

As an author I am glad that people read my stories, that they comment and stuff like that but sometimes you guys say some stuff that makes me feel bad, uncomfortable or straight up annoyed.

1. The thing that annoys me quite a lot is "called it" comments. I know, it's unreasonable for me to be mad about this but it makes me feel so uncomfortable. Could please say something else instead?

2. I am the author, I write in my own way. I may use some words incorrectly such as "shadow" instead of "shade" but that shouldn't matter to anyone. Please, refrain yourself from correcting me because it makes me feel sad and makes me think that my stories are shit. If you think that I could have written something differently - keep it to yourself.

3. I make typos. Everybody does. It makes me laugh when people make a joke out of it, but when they judge me for it.. Just please don't.

Okay bye I'm pissed off
