"Oikawa... Oikawa, wake up" Bokuto poked Oikawa's arm.

"Hn... What.." he asked sleepily.

"The sunrise. Look at the sunrise" Bokuto whispered, trying not to wake Daichi up.

Oikawa slowly opened his eyes and sat up. He turned his head to a window and gasped. His eyes widened at the magnificent view.

"Let's go outside" Oikawa whispered and quietly stood up.

Bad thing about sleeping in the same room - Daichi is a very light-sleeper. He hears everything, so the boys had to be extremely careful and quiet not to wake him up.

They ran outside and sat down on now colder sand, it felt nice in between their fingers. The sky was breathtaking, painted with orange, yellow, red and pink colors, you could even see a slightly purple corner.

"Holy.. You don't see this in Japan that often." Bokuto said and inhaled the fresh morning air.

The boys spent most of their day yesterday putting their stuff in it's places, checking the food and water supplies and checking the files. After that, they all went to sleep since they were exhausted, but of course Bokuto woke up the earliest, which was weird. He's an owl type after all.

"Bokuto.. Aren't you glad we're all friends and marine biologists? Like, if we were strangers we would be awkward..." Oikawa suddenly said.

"You're talking about deep things and I don't like it.." Bokuto looked at him with wide eyes and laughed.

"Appreciate my words more, idiot" Oikawa laughed aswell.

"Ah, I'm gonna run inside real quick, forgot my phone" Bokuto said and stood up, running towards the house.

Oikawa stood up aswell, but he went to the water instead. It was so clear and blue. Oikawa stared at the horizon, it was too beautiful to describe with words. Something caught his eyes, though. Maybe it was his imagination, but he saw a part of  a fin. And a big one at that, well, they were gonna explore that area too.

"Oikawa!" Bokuto shouted. Oikawa turned around and saw Daichi standing next to him in the balcony. Oikawa rushed to the house and greeted him, he didn't seem mad.

"I'm surprised you guys are up. I was gonna wake you up, but you weren't in your beds" Daichi said.

"Sorry, we're a bit too excited to be asleep" Bokuto laughed.

"Let's go and eat some breakfast. We'll be exploring the island today and tomorrow we'll be diving... I'm.. I'm so pumped" Daichi said and those two nodded.

"Let's start diving in the south areas. I think I saw a fin, it should belong to a fish at least 1,4 metres long" Oikawa saw how Daichi and Bokuto turned to him.

"Why didn't you tell us earlier?" Bokuto asked, his eyes were wide.

"I saw it just now, a couple of minutes ago. Man, if we manage to find it.." Oikawa started daydreaming.

"Okay, enough of this. Let's go and eat. Thank god we have a fridge" Daichi smiled and they all headed downstairs to the kitchen. They did have a fridge, there were some products there that didn't rot that fast, but they knew they have to eat those first.

So sandwiches for breakfast seemed like a great idea.

They all drank some tea and looked at the plans. Today, they were supposed to explore island, since it hasn't been touched in years.

"Do you think we'll find fruits? I mean we should, according to this description of the island that we were given there should be mangos, pineapples, bananas and stuff" Oikawa said, he was kinda craving fresh fruits. Then again, if not cheese and chicken he would go vegan.

"I hope we do. A fresh fruit drink would be nice" Daichi sighed and stood up. "Right. Let's get ready. I'm gonna take a first-aid kit just in case"

"Okay captain! Let's go Oikawa!" Bokuto exclaimed and took Oikawa's hand, dragging him out of the room.

The air seemed to be getting warmer, and temperature were supposed to reach 26°C today, so all of them grabbed water bottles and sunscreen.

"Alright, let's go" Daichi commanded.

And so, the trio started walking towards the small rainforest that was growing in the island. It was so green and magical.

The beach was pretty big, so it took the around 5 minutes to finally reach the it. As soon as they stepped foot in it, the atmosphere changed. The shadows from giant trees provided them with coldness. The plants around them seemed like an endless sea of green leaves. However, they could see some red and yellow spots.

"Oikawa look! It's a Blue Morpho butterfly! And so many of them!" Bokuto exclaimed as he saw a swarm of pure blue butterflies flying amongst the green leaves of the forest.

"So pretty! And so many! It's unusual to see so many in one place" Oikawa said, even though he was a marine biologist, the beings on land were interesting too.

"Should we catch one?" Daichi asked. "I brought a couple of jars just for catching living beings"

"Nah, let's leave them" Oikawa answered and the trio proceeded forward.

At first it was hard to walk because there was so little space. They didn't want to destroy the nature around them so they were extremely careful. Later on, they reached a wider area, the trees weren't growing so close to eachother and soon they understood why.

They walked into a rather big space, the sky above them finally revealed the sunlight. They stared at what seemed to be ruins of the tribes village. There were stones in weird formations, carvings in bigger stones.

"Wow... It's  like we travelled back in time" Daichi said and stepped forward.

"Oh, look Heliconia's are growing there. Didn't expect to see them" Bokuto said as he pointed at a red-yellow plant.

"Bokuto, focus on the ruins now" Oikawa said and followed Daichi. He took out his camera and started snapping pictures, since they needed them for reports anyway.

"Guys! Look at this. This might be related to those water monster legends" Daichi called them both over.

On the stone there were carvings of stick figures with sticks and stuff running away from what seemed like a water creature, hmm.. No, more like a lizard since it had claws and big teeth.

"Wow.. I wonder what animal they were describing" Oikawa said to himself. It made him remember the fin he saw earlier. Maybe those two are related somehow.

"Wow.. I'm just speechless.. And oh my god.." Bokuto said as he looked forward.

"What is it?" Daichi asked.

"Are those iguanas? I haven't seen that many in one place. It's like this small island is home to small numbers of different species of animals.. It makes me happy" Bokuto said and pointed at iguanas sitting on the nearby tree.

The rest of the day seemed to go by nicely. They explored most of the forest. Came across some fruits which they brought home with themselves. Oikawa took bananas and mangos, Bokuto took coconuts and avocados, while Daichi grabbed a couple of grapefruits and even found some cacao.

In the end of the day, they all sat on beach and watched the sunset, whilst drinking fruit cocktails.

"You know, this is like a paradise. Quiet, beautiful and pure" Oikawa said.

"Yeah, I agree" Daichi took another sip of his drink.

They all stared at the horizon and saw the exact same thing - a big fish tail appeared for a moment, before disappearing back into the ocean.

Just so you know, this is gonna be a slow fic. There are many things I have to write about, not to mention this is a multiship fic, so each pairing will need their own chapters.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed and I hope you appreciate all research I do for y'all. I need to search for what grows in tropical forests, who lives there and what marine animal species can be found.

P.s pls save me I'm being dragged into BTS hell

-hatari.
