"FUCKING HELL!" a scream echoed through the house and woke Oikawa and Bokuto up. They glanced at eachother and tiptoed to the office.

"Why are you screaming first thing in the morning?" Oikawa asked, he couldn't help, but notice the pained expression on Daichi's face.

"I accidentally sent a photo of Suga to the authorities yesterday" Daichi finally managed to say.

"You what?! How did that happen?!" Oikawa started panicking aswell.

"I don't know. I must have chosen it accidentally... They are coming now. I got a reply from the boss who said that they are coming to investigate, we have to warn them" Daichi said, his heart was going crazy.

"When are they coming? Also, how will they know where to find them?" Bokuto asked with wide eyes, he wasn't going to lose Akaashi.

"They should be here in a couple of hours. I took that photo of Suga near the kelp forest, it's obvious... Let's go, we have to warn them" Daichi quickly shut his laptop and the trio ran.

"Wait, how do we call them again?" Bokuto asked as they reached the water.

"IWAIZUMI!" Oikawa suddenly shouted, around a minute later something splashed in the distance and before they knew it Iwaizumi was there.

"What is it? It's still early to go to Atlantis" he asked a bit sleepy.

"Get Akaashi and Suga now, this is important. You are all in danger" Daichi said. It took Iwaizumi one look at Daichi's face and he dived back in.

"It's my fault.. I'm so sorry guys..." Daichi apologized, he was trying hard not to tear up.

"Don't apologize, we all make mistakes. This was bound to happen sooner or later. Let's warn them, we should try to hold back the authorities ourselves too" Oikawa tried to calm Daichi down, but it wasn't really working.

Soon the three mermen appeared in the distance and swam closer to them.

"What happened? Why did Iwaizumi tell us that it's an emergency?" Akaashi asked as he rubbed his sleepy eyes.

"I'm sorry, it's my fault. I was too tired and selected an additional photo, I didn't mean to do i--" Daichi's rambling was cut off by Oikawa.

"He sent a picture of Suga to authorities, now they are coming here" Oikawa said and the mermen gasped.

"I didn't mean it, it was an accident. You should warn others, we'll try to hold them back at least a little bit" Daichi kept his head low.

"Okay, will do. It looks like you'll have to see the bad side of us" Iwaizumi sighed a bit.

"The bad side?" Bokuto raised an eyebrow.

"When mermen and mermaids are angry, we look different. We look more like monsters.. You know, claws, teeth and so on" Akaashi explained.

"That explains the carvings we saw. Anyway, go and warn them. We'll go and try to do something" Daichi said and the mermen disappeared into the water again.

Daichi immediately ran back to the house and deleted all photos of mermen that they had, he teared out pages from his journal where he had things about them written down. Oikawa got rid of the drawings and Bokuto....ate icecream.

Before they knew it, they heard the sound of the plane getting closer. They ran outside and saw a small plane land on a flat area.

They were immediately approached by some men who started asking questions, but the trio kept being quiet and kept on denying everything. Too bad they didn't buy it.

"You guys discovered amazing stuff, you'll be rewarded as soon as we bring a few examples to the lab" an important looking guy said.

"Hunt down at least three! We need to examine them properly, we'll catch the rest later!" he then commanded.

"Don't hurt them!" Oikawa couldn't hold back anymore and and yelled.

"Who are you to tell me what to do? You three are just biologists, stay quiet" the guy said.

"You don't understand! You can't hurt them! Don't do it!" Oikawa yelled as tears formed in his eyes, but he could only watch how those men climbed into their yacht.

To their horror, they were brought along. They didn't want to watch it, they didn't want to see the ones they care about suffering.

"Tell us where!" a guy in a military uniform screamed at them.

"No! Never!" Bokuto exclaimed. In the corner of his eye he saw a hand, well not exactly, more like a claw slowly reach out and grab one of the mens legs. He was pulled down into the water immediately and all hell broke loose.

They were right, angry merpeople looked terrifying, so terrifying that some men who were there to hunt them went into hiding.

"Hey! Come down here!" they heard a familiar voice shout.

Oikawa looked down and saw Iwaizumi, his ears were pointer than usual and his fangs were showing a bit.

The trio glanced at eachother before jumping out of the yacht into the water...

Mermen didn't lose that day. They won.

They left an abandoned yacht in the water, bodies were left floating on water.

And the trio? Nowhere to be found.
